UEP is worth Millions Dollars. This land was free and clear. When Warren Jeffs in priesthood meeting had all the elders stand and vote to change the UEP Trust..he paved the way to be able to mortage the land and buildings. That was 5 or so years ago. The UEP was to protect the FLDS way of life. Now the land from Perry Barlows to Bob Steeds is mortgaged. It is not the only parcel! Even if you have "life estate" you could have the reaper on you doorstep. Lyle Jeffs, William Jessop, Bishop Will, Sam Allred, Nephi Allred, Wendell Nielson, and others are selling out the land from under your house. When Warren Jeffs stops making the mortgage payment..there are going to be alot of displaced families. Perry Barlow, Don Barlow, Alma Barlow Jr., Richard Timpson, Alan Barlow, Anthus Barlow, Dan Timpson, Terrel Dutson, Glen Barlow, George Barlow, James Broadbent, (or whoever is there now) and all the others in that area (CC) better stop making their contributions and start saving up for a down payment (on the house they built and live in).
Do you see a pattern in the businesses and church? Milk it for all its worth, Declare Bankruptcy and run from it.
David Allred, Rosa Barlow Allred, Guy Allred are great "front line" people for Warren Jeffs, although they maybe ahead of him on a few steps...but David has allways had a dream for power and control..look at what he is doing with the cottage workers doing Snugzs, making slaves out of them. It's a great family project but look at what it is really doing to the family. Has you forgiven Allco all the past pay they can't pay you? Have you seen the BMW David Allred drives. Or the house in Henderson? or that the YFZ and the ranch in Colorado is in David's name and he could pull the carpet out from under Warren.

There is half an answer, for an ounce of prevention! The UCC or Uniform Commercial Code of 1934. The law recognized in 150 countries and all 50 US states! You register and record a mechanics lien for the improvements to the land. It clouds the title so that another court proceeding is required in order to take or clear title.
I could not be sure Lenore Holm would win in court do to a history in the local courts, so you will find a lien registered in Arizona on the land beneath in her synerio. It does not guarantee any thing other than another day in court, but with the "unjust enrichment" clause such claim is favorable.
You calculate a value placed on labor and materials, don't be greedy it should be less than the value of the property that includes the land. If a bank or morgage holder tries to evict you, they have to settle or release the lien before resale and possession.
Chop-chop, and be quick about it! You can file in Washington state with same day service by or via fax. With your reciept, file next in Washington or Mohave County, followed by the state of the same. Arizona has something like 200,000 plus such claims, its seen as insurance only.
If someone has to pay for the improvements you made, then at minimum you have seed money to start over. It cost me the fee's and two 5 pound bags of Costco M & M's to get this filed. A friend in Hurricane has had the experience and helped me with Lenore's case. He's not connected to this and usually works for more than M&M's!

The NEXUS search that yielded the info on Rulon was done by Robert Gehrke then of Associated Press in SLC. He relocated with AP ro Washington DC a few years ago, now working for the SLC Trib, but out of Washington DC. I'd suggest a new search or checking with Robert as to that older file. At the time as I recall, Warren had 3 properties in his name as well. This would of been late 2000 or early 2001.

In normal situations, a mortgage is not a bad thing. In fact, it is the way that most Americans develop wealth over their lifetimes.
Say for instance that you bought a house in 1965 for $20,000, and had a $17,000 mortgage on it. You only invested $3,000 of your own money, and your montly payments for the first five years were about the same as you would have paid for rent. For the next 25 years, your payment was less than you would have paid for rent, and by 1985, your payment would have become an insignificant part of your budget. In 1995, you had the house paid off, free and clear, and it would have been worth $150,000.00. For the last 10 years, you would have been paying no rent and no mortgage, and by now it's worth $350,000.00! Pretty good return on a $3,000.00 investment. If you haven't made other plans for your retirement, you can sell the house and the interest, plus Social Security will make for a comfortable retirement.
On the other hand, if you build something on somebody else's land and THEY mortgage it and boot you off, steal your house, wife (or wives) and children, alienate your friends and relatives, and tell you that you are going to hell for no good reason other than having a nice house and a pretty wife, then it is not a good thing.
I would think that if you are going to try polygamy or the United Order, you should only do it under the guidance of a Prophet of God. And the REAL Prophet doesn't seem to have any of that in the works.
I love owning my land. My great grandfather was an imigrant from Europe in the early 1900's. He had nothing to his name. He worked hard so his son (my grandfather) would be well educated - he was.
My grandfather purchased a big piece of property in a then undeveloped area, sold off a few chunks to help him build his home, and then gave a piece to each of his sons after they were married. That legacy helped provide a better life to each sucessive generation.
It's taken several generations of hard work, but I'm so thankful to each generation for the contribution - I will continue the tradition.
I would guess that the UEP owns 2000 acres in Colorado City/Hildale. I have no idea how much is in Canada.
I know that Roundy's own their farm and last I knew Harkers did too.
Why would they have acres in Fred Jessops name or anything other than UEP?
Actually I would up that guess, because AMI Corp has 1300 acres for sale in Apple Valley area and that was UEP a year ago and is a front company for Warren Jeffs.
