3 Year Old Boy Dies in Crash at YFZ

How does something like this happen?

This is just a snip of the article - for the full article - click the title to be taken to the San Angelo Times website for the full article.

ELDORADO, Texas - A 3-year-old boy was killed and another child was injured Thursday when a minivan they were riding in crashed on a ranch owned by polygamist sect led by Warren Jeffs.

Allen Rulon Jeffs was pronounced dead at a local hospital, and 3-year-old Richard Rulon Jeffs was in critical condition Thursday night. Isaac Steed Jeffs Jr., 3, and the driver, Barbara Joy Jessop, were treated and released, the San Angelo Standard-Times reported Friday.

Atari, Am I blind or what? I only see yhe report of one death?
What gives? Have you been talking to Flora to much?

I thought only one child died. Did you read some information to the contrary? I feel so sorry for the parents and the girl who was driving. I'm sure she is very upset.

ATAR_i said...

Nope it's just one - I changed the title prior to any responses.

Oh, and I did learn one more thing. They think it might have been a 'boulder' on the shoulder of a gravel road. That was reported by the salt lake tribune.

feralfem said...

Atar, the article you cite includes the "boulder" in its very first sentence as does every other report/article I've reviewed on this story.

(Just being a smart-a$$) ;-)

I don't see Boulder - I saw this - did one die in Boulder as well?

A young boy was killed and another critically injured Thursday morning on the YFZ Ranch

Here is the COMPLETE first sentence of the story in the San Angelo Times that you reference in your thread title link:

A young boy was killed and another critically injured Thursday morning on the YFZ Ranch near Eldorado when the van in which they were riding crashed into a *boulder* on a road on the ranch, according to news releases from Schleicher County Sheriff David Doran. (emphasis mine)

It's not capitalized as in "Boulder, CO" -- rather a "...boulder on a road on the ranch..."

Am I giving you a hard enough time or what? LOL

Geez that took me long enough! - here I am scanning the article, trying to figure out if it really was in Colorado.

Zoiks!

Wasn't this boy the son of Ron Rohbock and Zavenda? She was married to him for about a year and they had a child together. Also, after she was taken from Ron, word was that she was married to Warren, not Isaac. Does anyone know anymore about this?

feralfem said...

You might cool it with the accusations, poly...

"Texas law does not require passenger restraints on private roads."

Quoted from The Eldorado Success.

Yes, the boy is Ron's son, and No, Zavenda did not marry Warren, She married Isaac. The girl that was driving "Barbie" was also married to Isaac.

Hohourable ,-
I believe that is not good to discuss the death of the young boy. That is a great sorrow actually. Please, respect the rights of the FLDS people also. For what did you discuss these topics ???

I'm certain that poor family is in agony. It sounds like an unfortunate accident for everyone.

HELP me but I am actually going to reply to onthestreet!

STREET's Reply: All of the wives and children belong to God, to the Priesthood, to the Prophet.

Yes, street, just like calves in a stall, the FLDS believe that ... All of the wives and children belong to God, to the Priesthood,
to the Prophet.

Charming.

My dad is the JP and was at the scene.
Van was going less that 20 miles an hour and hit a boulder. Woman looked down to watch a child play with something and looked up and swerved into bolder.

One child died of broken neck. Freak accident when his head hit window. The child in the front seat was crushed by the airbag. FLDS physician escorted child to Eldorado's ER. The child was then sent to San Angelo by helicopter.
As for charges being filed, no laws were broken. The accident happened on PRIVATE property, particularly a ranch. Seat belts and drivers licenses are only required on PUBLIC roads. Every kid in Schleicher county learned to drive on a ranch with no license and no seat belt. LEGAL...

I will get more photos soon. Nothing has changed enough to even warrant publishing anything.

Pilot,

Your post is clarifying and most appreciated.

Thanks! -- for taking the time and for being there.

How old is this mother? How many children does she have?

At any age this tragedy would be incredibly painful, but coupled with four different husbands, I think I would be falling apart.

Is Isaac a good man? I hope he is compassionate.

Did Ron have any say so about his son, or get to attend the funeral - did he want to?

The audacity that the poor mother of the child who was killed in the wreck was passed on through four men in three years is another demonstration of the total lack of care this cult has for families. Love is totally absent. Obey, obey, obey, who cares if you lost a child? A family is what WJ says it is. Tick WJ off and he takes your wife(s) children, property and hope of eternal salvation, according to him, as if such things were of no value to anyone.

There are not enough young, pretty virgins in all of FLDS to make me have even a hint of a desire to become one of them. Their god is the beast of the present age. WJ's god is power & money.

ots... do you have a heart. how can you sit there in your smuggness and ignorance and post such absurd and stupid things. My father lost his son. His own flesh and blood. And they won't even let him go to the funeral or say his last farewells to him. It's fine with me if you want to be an a*%-$#@e to yourself, but don't be one to my father. You have no idea what it's like.

My god could kick your god's a**. And that's a fact.

Posted by and FLDS.....not!

I can only imagine what sorrow Ron must be going thru. Please send him my condolences. To see him go thru the agony of losing his family has hurt us deep too. Each child means the world to a father and a mother.

It is so hard to get closure without a funeral and love and encouragement of friends and family. I just sent a balloon to heaven for each of the people that I didn't get closure for. It helps alot. I am sorry I acted the way I did to them. When someone is struggling with their testimony, it is not the time to judge and shun. It is the time for love and compassion.

Note that ots can quote from the Bible when he thinks it serves his particular purpose, whatever that may be.

His writings continue to be unable to differentiate between his Mormon god and God of the Hebrews and Christians. He quotes from the Bible as if he wants to claim for himself the blessings and curses declared upon those who would do Israel and the Christian believers harm, yet in other threads he belittles the name of Jesus, portrays Jesus as a second rate diety, who just isn't quite as important at WJ and JS. He is considerably confused and in his attempt at subterfuge he desires eveyone else to ooh and aah in relationship to his brillance. How absurd! He is a malinformed charlatan promoting a totally non-substantiated belief system, invented by one even more deranged than himself and perpetuiated by a profit who couldn't keep his paws out of the church funds. Wow! what examples!

Anonymous said...

Profit... get it?! Like not prophet but profit...... Your so very clever Muggsey. Your mother must be so proud.

muggsey said...

The spelling was intentional. There should be no profit in being a prophet.

Examples: Elijah & John-the-Baptist.

These two were not-for-profit Prophets.

There is nothing clever about the obvious.
