Good Ole Times

Remember this thread. Boy didn't we have a good time with this one. I just wanted to remind everyone that we weren't always arguing - we were sometimes 'casting'!

I miss Stinger!

Did you get gored by one of those bulls, or are you just too busy : (

I'm still alive. This blog doesn't ever seem to really be going anywhere so I only check in every month or two to see if anything looks interesting. I'm on the sharethelight blog every now and then but mostly I spend my time doing more entertaining things.

My girls went to their first fair this year, I was out there for 4 days having a ball. I felt quite hickish. I attached the car, truck, camper, trailer keys to this hiking hitch on my beltloop, wore the Georgia boots, and was the first one to open up the large barns every morning (this is not my forte).

Anyhow - the horses did well, the outfits worked fine, and the girls had fun!

What have you been up to? I'm traveling a lot this coming year, more than usual, and I've taken on a secondary position - so I'm working quite a bit more.

I stopped blogging for a few months in spring, and then came back.

I have been doing pretty much the usual. Making fence posts, turned a barn into a school, that sort of stuff. I have a couple of my extreme sports videos online now if you want to see them. They are at www.myspace.com/raptorstudio

Do you have photos of the barn turned school - it sounds really cool.

I can't believe you have a myspace (I'm going now to check it out)!

: ( I can't see it because I'm not your friend.

I love that song (it's hysterical), I've never heard that one before, I had to listen to the whole thing!

Stinger - did I ever tell you my uncle has two wives? Probably not.

This year I also learned I had relatives at Nauvoo whey back when. I almost plotzed when I realized I have LDS roots. They broke off with others to form a different branch of LDS, with Smiths wife and son, but those relatives were apparently not very faithful to that branch either - as I grew up protestant, and never even knew about the LDS history until now.

That's not why my uncle had two wives, I just don't think he cared for the first very much, and when he traveled, he went and got himself another. There was no communal living involved - nothing polygamous - just plain old boring bigamy.

My friends at school got a hoot out of it though - it made great dinner conversation where I live.

Interestingly enough - that ex LDS some from that branch of the family tree settled not far from where you are, so I visit Kootanai County every now and again.

Many years ago a distant cousin made an offhand remark about up north, and 'everyone being married to their cousin'. I'm still not certain if she was talking about just people in the sticks, or perhaps....

Hope that last wasn't a disparaging remark against Canada:) I stopped logging last year and moved back into the post yard. I cut trees into fence posts. The barn we turned into the school was the old one by our rodeo ground, don't remember if it showed up in any of the pictures. We made four nice classrooms in it for the high schoolers and the kindergarten. If you have a myspace account send me a friend request. If not, go to www.youtube.com and do a search for stinger107. Youtube is another video sharing site that I have my videos hosted at.

I don't recall if I've seen the barn, but I've seen some lovely barn restorations.

Are you guys still doing the Rodeo - I hope that tradition hasn't come to an end.

Sounds like you might have turned in your clown outfit for a helmet and leather.

How is your wife and the kids?

Stinger said...

The barn is the one that is called the "Old Barn" It's the one that the little kindergarteners were kicked out of by the warrenites a couple of years back. They turned it into a store but when Bruce Wisan told them they had to let us have back half of the building they evacuated the whole thing. We put up a few more walls and sheetrocked the rooms. Made it look pretty nice inside. We got back our rodeo ground at the same time so we are able to have rodeos again. I'm still the rodeo clown. I only video the boys when they are riding, I don't have a bike. I spend to much of my money on electronics. The wife and kids are fine. My wife had another girl last year so now I have a boy and three girls.

It was fun to see the barn during the renovations. Good to see it being returned to the community.

I didn't realize you'd lost the rodeo ground and the barn - I'm glad you can put it back to good use now. If there's ever a photo of the resorations - would you post it somewhere and send a link.

Congratulations on your new daughter - How many kids in school this year?

Stinger said...

I have two kids in school. Grade one and two.

Stinger, did you read my 9/11 post. Your group doesn't feel that way does it. My gut tells me no, but I want to confirm.

Stinger, tell the wife and kids hi for me.

Stinger said...

No. Our group doesn't feel that way. From the things I have read and listened to on the radio today there are a suprising number of regular Americans, US and Canada, who are thinking along those lines. Saying everything from it being the fault of the US that the attacks happened, to outright conspiracy theories. I am as offened by these kind of remarks as you are.

DD I will tell the wife hi.

I loved that video. It reminded me of all the good, clean, fun we used to have growing up in CC many years ago. The fire on the motorcycle jump was the best! That is the kind of fun you could never have playing a video game.

Yes, many, as many as the earth's population, except one.
