warrenites vacate the public school

Word is that all the warrenites that have, till now, still been working at the school have abandoned their post today, with no prior notice. Positions fron Principal to kitchen help and maitenance people will be needing to be filled before school opens after the holidays on January 3rd. So, anyone looking for a job?, Not that it is mine to give, but vacancies will have to be filled I'm sure. Anyone with any more specific information?

Wonderful news for those in the public school. I am sure there are those in the community who can step up to the challenge.

You will be surprised how many folks where dead weight.

Who said anyone would need replacing? Weren't all the FLDS dead wood? Maybe a 2nd grade school teacher with 40 students might get aid now.

Anonymous said...

That should say "Maybe a 2nd grade school teacher with 40 students might get AN aid now."

Anonymous said...

yet, they only fired the aid when the government took over.

Anonymous said...

how much of this is fact, and how much is hearsay? I'm curious to know where this information came from.

Anonymous said...

Well, it came from some one who knows.

sorry, that doesn't work for me... i don't come out from under Warren's nose. I need a little more solidity than just closing my eyes and believing whatever any tom, dick or harry says.

So who is this outside consulting firm that the government has turned the school system over to?

Have they ever done this before?

How did it turn out?

Anonymous said...

http://www.simonconsulting.net/

They seem to be very specialized in this area.

We will see how it turns out after a thorough investigation.

Anonymous said...

Well, that's interesting.

Sounds like they are pretty proud of their work in forensic accounting and fraud detection.

But aren't they supposed to be running a school system?

Desn't that take some kind of expertise, or can just anybody do it?

Are they going to be honest and disclose that it cost the tax payers more money for Simon Consulting than the district has wasted on an airplane.

Anonymous said...

Simon Consulting's contract should be public record. Does anybody know how much they are getting paid?

Now for the BIG question: How do they travel to Colorado City? How much does it cost per trip, in time and travel costs? How does that compare to the costs of the district administrators travelling by airplane?

Anonymous said...

Let's see....

Forensic accountant at $150/hr:, 6 hours each way....$1,800.00 per trip per forensic accountant.

Mileage: 800 miles round trip @$.40/mi...$320.00 per trip by car.

They should definately buy an airplane.

What does it cost to charter a plane these days? Something like a little four-seater?

Maybe fly America West to Vegas, rent a car and drive to CC? 1/2 hour to airport, 1 1/2 hours waiting for flight, 1 1/2 hour flight, 1 hour to rent a car, 2 hours to CC = 6 1/2 hours each way. Nope. Costs more that way.

They would definately have to commute to at least Hurricane for a motel. And lunch, too.

This could get expensive.

Could Simon maybe sieze and operate the plane? It may just be the most cost-effective way to get to and from Colorado City.

Joe Doughtery:

Could you keep an eye on Simon's travel costs for us all?

You would probably want to do it anyhow, just to show how fair you are.

Thankya in advance.

Simon does have a photo of a really tall office building on the front page of their website. They must be really big. And really good.

And one of their people used to prepare tax returns. And it says that they know someone who is the Chief Financial Officer of a really big non-profit agency. And one of their assistants has MANY MONTHS of experience in assisting. And amongst them all, they have TWO degrees in B.S.

It will be really good to hear what they have to say.

Anonymous said...

Frow what I see reported here I think that B.S. should be intrepeted as Bovine (droppings) MBA as More Bovine (droppings) Around and PhD as Bovine (droppings) Piled Higher and Deeper.

Here it is January 2, 2006 and another doomsday has come and gone.

O Ye of Such Little Faith !

All of this cost counting is very interesting. Remember that all of this could have been avoided by the school administrators if they had just filed reports as they were due. It is easy now to forget all of that, right?

Had the reports been given as required by law the state would already know where the money in question had gone. There would be no more cost to taxpayers for an investigation. If no wrongdoing is to be found the school would still be under the direction of Mr. Barlow.

I think we are seeing more smoke and mirrors from the FLDS here.

Anonymous said...

Let's give Simon a chance.

But let's also look at how much they charge for travel costs and what their hourly fee is.

fttc said...

I can agree with you here. I have been around enough to know what a firm such as Simon can do when a government agency is on the paying end. Yes, keep them in line.

Anonymous said...

BTW
Where is the school district plane?

Has anyone seen the plane lately?

Is the plane sitting in the hangar?

Anonymous said...

That is one famous plane.

The New Times, in an early December article, said that Simon would be working on selling it right away after they took over. Do you suppose the notariety would make it more valuable on e-bay?

It could be some sort of "collector's item", kind of like Elvis's cars.

Better yet, splatter some mud on it, and say that it looks like the image of some famous religious icon.

None are so blind as those who will not see. You do not want to see the truth before you, therefore you will see every fault and nothing that is beneficial.

Anonymous said...

Your statement assumes there are no faults. Is that the truth? Is looking through rose colored glasses beneficial?

Anonymous said...

Not so, it acknowledges that in all probability that there will be faults, it is within the nature of the human to make errors. The point I attempt to make is that is you only look for the faults and not for the improvements, the faults are all you will see.

Don't you get it. Honest people, when confronted with error ask for suggestions toward correcting the problem whereas dishonest people presume that nobody else has any right to complain.

Go to meetings of the school board. Listen to those appointed to govern conduct the business, ask for documents supporting financial reports etc. Honest people will provide you with such.

Evidently the schools previous administration came under judicial review because some numbers did not fall within the norm when your schools finished product, (educated students) was subjected to other school districts with similar enrollments within the state.

Audits discovered that support jobs paid those employees higher salaries than were paid to qualified educators. That is not normal in any school district anywhere in this country. That will send a flag up in any state review commission.

When you see strange and unusual events occur with regularity, then those strange and unusual events come under suspect. The audit found that huge fraudulent activity was being committed with the state paying the bill and the children were NOT receiving the education that the state was funding.

If the purpose of a school is to educate and education coming from a particular school is sub-standard and the cost per student was much higher than for students in surrounding school districts wouldn't you think something was wrong?

Get your head out of your church and think as if you were were serving on a board named to investigate a school down in Yuma or Tombstone and the numbers were as out of balance as those in Colorado City wouldn't you think something was out of order?

fttc said...

This is the first I have heard of the CC school not giving an adequate education. Do you have proof of what you are stating? There is no question as to the funding being out of line. On that level the district is under investigation.

Have I missed the other point? Faithful, you have children in school there, do you know anything about this?

Anonymous said...

Did you get the point related to the fact that you would have a different set of values if you were called to examine another school district. Seems as if I remember a parable about beams and motes....hmmmmm????? Apply.

fttc said...

That point was noted and applied. If I was looking at any other district I would like the truth about them as well.

Anonymous said...

OK, folks do you have teachers in the CCISUD that are teaching up to 40 students per class in elementary?

Most school districts your size have one superintendant, maybe a secretary or two, one financial advisor, someone to keep tract of students stats for the state and federal monies, lots of coaches who teach, (I understand you do not have coaches or sports) Maybe two teachers per grade in elementary, less as you go up through junior high and into high school. A maintenance crew, bus drivers, but most buses do not pickup kids in most towns, mostly rural routes. Teachers aides, several. A school nurse, maybe two school counselors, cafteria workers maybe several your size. And a principal and one office secretary in each level. I am probably missing something. Oh yeah maybe a music teacher and coach for elementary students.

Anonymous said...

OH, sorry I knew I would for get librarians for each campus.

Anonymous said...

That sounds about on par with Texas schools.

Anonymous said...

OK did the school lose employees or not?

Anonymous said...

I think that you can go to the newspapers in the area na get an exact accounting of the numbers of jobs affected. There has been some reduction in non essential work force. Persons essential to operate the school and all it's facilities have maintained jobs, at least according to what I have read in the newspapers. If you still are not satisfied why don't you call the administrative office at the school and see if they are hiring?

Anonymous said...

No, I just point out the obvious. I have absoultely nothing to gain or lose in your argument. It seems that there are various sides that are pitted against each other and you won't even try to settle your argument in an effort to find a workable plan of peace. If my suggesting one or two possible entrys into your coming into harmony makes me what you described me as, then I'll remain guilty of the offense. What you call me makes no difference to me or to anyone else who has intelligence to see the eal root of your problem, selfishness. Try to grow up and accept responsibility for your own life.

Dear 1/07/2006 1:06 PM

You have no clue about the FLDS or their problems. There is no workable plan of peace. Even arresting Prophet Warren will not end the problem.

If you do not obey the prophet to the 10th degree, you lose. Home, family (wives and children) job and your salvation.
There is no harmony but the prophet's harmony.

But your post sounds nice.

Anonymous said...

Faithful, does that mean that some Warrenites decided to stay working at the school afterall? Or were there only 17 to begin with?

Anonymous said...

Just think how much money this will save the taxpayers. If they quit they won't be able to get unemployment. YIPEE - the deadbeats are gone.
