Is there not some way to keep Fundy and his alternate personality barlow from posting threads at all?

Come on guys! You're being judge, jury and executioner here. Fundy has explained where he was coming from, and hopefully he'll know to leave his threads up in future.

And if it wasn't for Fundy and Barlow, what would we all talk about? I don't see anyone else launching new threads.

Darling

You and others. There are a number of threads that are not posted by Fundy and Barlow. As an example of my beef with Fundy and Barlow, here is a sample of the titles from Fundy's threads:

Why are there So Many Polygamous Groups Out There???

FLDS and Fundamentalists and Polygamy

Is It Really Mormon Polygamy???

The Origin of Mormon Polygamy

Polygamy, LDS Lies and More Lies

Legalizing Polygamy Would Recognize Culture, History

Brigham Young on Atonement

Blood Atonement

All but the last two could have been placed together in the same thread under a polygamy heading. And those two should have been in the same thread as well.

We get so many threads talking about the same thing and then it is a pain to scroll through and find the threads that do not have to do with Fundy and Barlow's favorite subject.

Here is a list of Barlow's thread titles:

Polygamy and Women Vs. Men

The benefits polygamy has for women

President Woodruff and The Manifesto

LDS Apostle Orson Pratt on Polygamy

Mormons and Polygamy

FLDS and LDS and Polygamy and Lies and more Lies

President Wilford Woodruff On Polygamy This for the LDS

Women in Polygamy

Women and Polygamy

Higher Principle Polygamy

Polygamy

All of these are seperate threads. Sound redundant? I happen to think it does. All of the threads listed here are available on the main page of the blog. I didn't go into the archives for any of them.

TBM-It is not that Fundy and Barlow do not bring interesting material to the blog. I have enjoyed responding to some their posts. They have been a source of conversation here and I appreciate that much. I just wish they could put it into a format that was a little easier to follow. Some other blogs have an easier interface for seeing all the threads and any current unread comments. I like the layout of this blog but the users have to work with it or it is a pain.

I and others have dropped hints to Fundy and Barlow before and they have been unwilling to cooperate. This was not the first of Fundy's threads to disappear. It is not the first tantrum he has thrown because he couldn't face the other bloggers opinions.

Well maybe it is time for this blog to be shut down.

I am for it.

Why?

Just ban Fundy from starting a thread. Admin how bout it? OR just let him start one every week and delete the rest.

Anonymous said...

Why doesn't fundy start his own blog. It's both quick and easy. The admin here has shown his willingness to link to other blogs (like the NV Polyg one) and I'm sure would add a link on this site to Fundy's. That way, if you don't want to read Fundy's work, you don't have to...

This blog is the only one I have time to watch. I enjoy the sparring with any other vocal blogger. Perhaps I'm not as "smart" as some but, in some areas I can hold my own with about any one. It's give & take. If a person contributes opinion expect a rebuttal, tht's what the whole intent of this blog is. Hurt feelings are an idea that has developed with political correctness. You never get to the real truth of an issue without prodding. Keep up the good work. I agree, some of the posts seem redundant. Let's see if we can get some new ideas circulating to debate.

For once, I agree with you Muggsey. Although there is never an excuse for discourtesy. I hope we can always continue expressing our opinions forthrightly, but with respect.

Let's see if we can get some new ideas circulating to debate.
The trouble is that this is a board dedicated to polygamy in texas. It does get a bit "same old". I would personally welcome a larger discussion. But with a title like "texaspolygamy", is that going to happen?

Hey all,

Fundy has rights just like the rest of us. He chooses to start threads and delete threads. That is his right. We can choose to ignore them or not post on them. Isn't free choice great?

I thought the titles of the various threads were a bit redundant too. I would hate this blog to turn into a message board. If the residents of YFZ could or would contribute and admit who they are and just what the thinking of their leadership is regarding the future of YFZ, it's real purpose, and why on earth did they pick Schleicher County, Texas to locate their compound is of real interest? Also, why is there so much secrecy? What are you hiding?

You are invited to come to Eldoado whenever you like. We have a good school, a fine public library, some shady places to hold picnics, tennis courts, a good track, several baseball diamonds, a civic center and a rodeo arena, not to mention a swimming pool that is open during summer months when school is not in session.

How can we be expected to be good neighbors when you isolate yourselves, obviously out of fear of our every move as if we possess an ulterior motive?

i'll bet that the majority of you don't know that our local newspaper regularly wins awards for excellence in journalism. Do you even know that speculation regarding what is happening, and facts as they become available regarding your home at YFZ are a big item of interest, and are regularly reported along with photographs in the "Success?"

You are big news in this little corner of Texas. Your prophet's activities have drawn worldwide attention to you and your activities. If you desire less scrutiny, open your gates and let a street pass through your community. Expect an initial parade of curiousity seekers but, that too shall pass.

No mugsy, it won't pass.

What is so wrong with people being curious? You are both right in a sense. The end of secrecy would eliminate most of the curiosity. Througout the '80s and '90s there were many people who passed through CC/Hildale, stopping at the service station and grocery store who didn't know a thing about the belief system of the people. They weren't there for curiosity sake. Some of them spoke to me later, when they found out where I was from and said it was a peculiar community but hadn't had a second thought about it until I mentioned it myself. I believe this is normal beihavior for most citizens of the US. If the FLDS did not have their name in the news complements of warren's lawlessness and then make the media even more curious by the secrecy that came with warren's administration even this blog would not exist.

Back to my original question. If the FLDS has THE TRUTH and can save the souls of men, why would they not want others to have the same blessings? I know of several men that were ernestly looking for the truth and were convinced the FLDS had it but were turned away by warren himself. What is being hidden? If the FLDS has the light why hide it under a bushel? (or behind a fence)

Again you score a home run. the big word "IF", just two letters in length, but providing a whole lot of possible answers, mostly convoluted mis-quotes or out of context remarks.

11. Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.

12. And the lord answered and said, "How did you get to be 18 and I not know you?"

If God himself comes to Mary at age twelve, that's his business, but mortal man needs to wait until the girl is a little older.

ots is simply making a very lame attempt to justify himself and or others who prefer young girls and use young boys.

They may justify themselves, each other and their so-called 'profit', but there is no justice in their thoughts, deeds, or actions. Theirs is a 'control' environment.

You know, Jewish people still celebrate a Bat Mizvah for their girls.

They still reach the 'commandment age' at the age of 12 or 13. The day the young woman is Bat Mitzvah is the first time she will have ever been called to the Torah. To say the blessings over the Torah one must be of that age.

They still celebrate that, and NOT suprisingly their children (the ones you speak of) do not marry right after they have the ability to say blessings from the Torah. NOT in Israel, NOT in the US, NOT anywhere.

Your a goy, you know only what they tell you of their traditions, or what you read. YOU are not Jewish, LOOK AT WHAT THEY DO. They have a mitzvah, and yet they remain unmarried.

That is just meshugaas.

Street, is there a newsclip or article on the web where the boy said that. You have repeated this before, but where is the news article? Where did Brent say that this has nothing to do with the truth?

OTS

Thanks again for the discredited quotations from Joseph Smith. I note that most of your posts are entered in the middle of the night.
That is when your "patron" male, who earns your keep, is asleep. You have all day to catch up on your sleep so you can be available to use your male 'soul mate' to perform his duty to you before he retires to bed.
