The last few funerals have been at peoples houses with just a graveside service.

Why an unmarked grave? Is this the new standard? Was Carl one that was sent away to repent?

That's not fair. You are intimating that these young men and boys have been murdered. That is hogwash! I live in a small (population-wise), widespread community that covers perhaps 200 sq miles. Very rural. Families mostly work in agriculture. Those that don't themselves often have teenagers work for neighboring farmers. In the past four or five years I can think of perhaps ten young boys killed in accidents. With a population of approximately 700, if you do the math against 10,000 it is not that far off.

I realize there is some difference between farming and construction (labor laws, etc.). But these people are VERY family oriented and do try to take their children with them to work. Though the money may be a factor with some men it is not with the majority. They really want something for the youth to do. I am not denying that children are doing some things beyond thier age capacity. I have seen children in my community driving ten tons of equipmetn down the road when they had to about stand up to see over the steering wheel of the tractor. Foolish yes, but these people are not FLDS.

I'm not intimating anything.

But my curiosity was piqued when people kept on mentioning, suicides and accidents.

I guess I wondered if the order to blood atone had been given?

Perhaps it's just a lot of bad luck all at one time, perhaps...

This is an interesting phenomenon that I have noted for years. It seems when one accidental death occurs, very soon there are several others. They seem to come in bunches, at least in the CC/Hildale community.

It may be that there are more child/teenage/young men deaths in the Creek per capita than other communities. The fact is often not understood or overlooked that the percentage of youth to adult is very high. As high as three times what a non-polygamous comparable community has. When the numbers are looked at in their true light it is not so out-of-kilter.

Given what has been discussed on this blog about blood atonement and the 'lost boys' it is very easy to think these deaths to be intentional. Perhaps they should be investigated by LE. It wouldn't hurt. But Giz2Gaz's statement was pretty cut-and-dried, and I think uncalled for. It is especially irresponsible when he is claiming to have inside information from making his documentary. To me it severely damages his integrity and shows a degree of bias that raises red flags about the film.

BTW young men and boys have been dying the world over not for decades but centuries. :-(

The FLDS men drive miles and miles and several have been stopped because law enforcement thought they were drunk, they were just sleep deprived. A vehicle being driving by a sleep deprived person has the same MO of a drunk driver.
And sadly the same results, accidents.

Who is charles williams?

Robert Williams and Millie Williams son that is now part of Tom Holms family.

I think his name is Nathan Charles but cause Tom had Miltons son Nate they changed it to Charles. All by hearsay, I could be wrong. Don't know the kids at all.

Ok. Who is Elmer Barlow?

Glen and Elaine Bistline Barlow's son fell from the rafters at the airport. His dad was kicked some time before and was placed under the direction of Ladell Bistline. Just after his funeral, I heard Ladell was kicked...

How long ago did Elmer die? What does "placed under the direction of Ladell Bistline" mean? Where is Ladell now now?

Louis Barlow died in May 2004, four months after having been "kicked" according to The Spectrum newspaper. The cause of death was not released to the public. Does anyone know how he died?

Thanks Uncle Ratt. Do you know if there was any investigation into Elmer's accident? Was he taken to Dixie Regional Medical Center? When was the funeral? How old was he?

Thanks,

Concerned

OK, there are a tad too many funerals announced on this board - is anyone else getting creaped out?

'go away and be a missionary, but don't take your heart medication.'

'drive over that ledge'

I'm sorry, a population of 10,000 doesn't have this many young individuals die. These aren't farm related accidents (heard that argument). They sound deliberate, but with just enough personal choice to not raise any flags.

LE - have you noticed?

What do you guys think?

Uncle Ratt,

Thanks for the information about Elmer Barlow. It seems like some investigation should have been done by law enforcement, especially if he was in his mid to late teens.

Do you know how he was transported to the hospital after the accident?

Thanks,

Concerned

atari:
The average age of the people in CC is very young, it's not like your run-of-the-mill Texas town. A significant portion of the population is under 21, the ratio of kids to adults is very high, so a good portion of the deaths are young people. Unfortunately accidents do happen, and they happen more often to young people.

Jesus set the rules.
It would do good for Warren to read this again, and practice.

MATTHEW 18:15 And if thy brother sin against thee, go, show him his fault between thee and him alone: if he hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.
18:16 But if he hear thee not, take with thee one or two more, that at the mouth of two witnesses or three every word may be established.
18:17 And if he refuse to hear them, tell it unto the church: and if he refuse to hear the church also, let him be unto thee as the Gentile and the publican.
18:18 Verily I say unto you, what things soever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and what things soever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
18:19 Again I say unto you, that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father who is in heaven.
18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

18:21 Then came Peter and said to him, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? until seven times? 18:22 Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times; but, Until seventy times seven.
