I don't think you saw him last week. He has been in a "home" since last year. He got alzimers and couldn't remember anything just a week or two after the TV thing with Laurene.

Life has a funny way of turning around. For each one of you who can only remember people by the lables that you are going to give people, i challange you to find something positive. No life is ever without a poitive thing. Be careful of the things that you judge a person by least it be the thing that is your own downfall.

Hey! I think that bad people have good kids. I think the world of some of Jacks kids. I hear that he had close to 60. He has some totally awesome grandkids. Can't think of anything good to say about ...oh well, he must have had some awesome wives.

OK then I'll say something positive about Jack Cooke,

He lived and then he died.

Street, you can praise Jack if you want to, but Uncle Roy said that Jack's sins was one of the blackest stains to Mormonism. Will you contradict Uncle Roy? I guess if you are for Warren, that's not a problem; he does it incessantly.

A cult where both men and women to be "Hookers for Jesus" probably exceeds that record.

So, let's get a community together and have a mass sexual orgie and nothing about it would be immoral as long as there is no contraception used or abortion done should a pregnancy occur.

I know the Cooke family and have a lot of good to say about them and Jack as well. I was given the chance to get to know Jack better in the years following the debt he paid to society for the things he did. I spoke with him many times of the situation and saw many great things about that man. He is the only man of all the accused men I have known that took responsibility for what he did. He did not try to diminish what he had done but repented and suffered in this life by the loss of some of his family. He was a very humbled and reverent person who did not try to exuse himself but offered his service to God in his later life. Who are any of us to judge him or anyone on what we hear of them? Let that be up to our maker. For myself I choose to focus on my relationship with God and life. God bless you all.

I can't judge Jack Cooke - you're right about that.

The community/law did judge him to be guilty, and he paid the penalty that was asked of him.

Even though he paid the penalty that was assessed him, and even if he asked forgiveness of his God, it's not so easy to sew up the wounds he inflicted on others.

As long as he did not continue in the same manner as he did, and his actions showed true repentence, strangers and even family might give him a second chance. Based on the nature of his transgressions, I'm not certain one can fully reclaim all that is lost. But that was his choice (at least he had one).

So, you cannot anger at the people who shake their fists at this man. They did not force his hand to defile his daughters. How can a man commit such acts and expect any other response? If he gets something kinder and gentler, it is a blessing - but definately should not be an expectation.

I heard very similair words come out of the mouth of Jack Cooke. He knew his part and he never expected anything of any of them. How many others from Colorado City or anywhere have the guts to admit that. He was a very smart man. He was socially not strong, and he let things rule him for a time in his life and then he overcame it. That is more than the ones being kicked out or doing the abuses are able to do now. The damgage is done but he is gone. Now it is up to those left behind to reclaim what is left of thier lives. I love them all very much and hope they are able to get past the injurys and not be the perpetrators.

God never required us to forgive that kind of perversion. I agree with Uncle Roy. Warren let's those actions slide because he is guilty of the same

No, he never required it.

BUT...

Matt 6:12-15

12 Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.

13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.

14 For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.

15 But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

Unforgiveness can cause a festering in yourself that causes your fellowship with God to be affected. Forgiving others causes restoration of that relationship with God.

You sew what you reap - God will ensure they receive exactly what they deserve.

Forgiveness is one of the hardest things for anyone to do, including me. And though I may forgive someone, I will never trust them again.

It is like a cashier caught stealing money. Comes back and asks for forgiveness. They can be forgiven. They want their job back. Heck NO! I can never trust them with money again. Trust has to be earned.

And this has nothing to do with Jack.

exactly saar - they pay the consequences - the natural consequences (jail, mistrust) and the eternal consequences.

Why is it street goes on and on about immaculate conception and how we all rape our wives (I have never used birth control, Street), but some pedophile comes along and he brushes it off as though he had a few weaknesses, but nothing serious. So, legitimate intercourse with a wife is a worse sin than molesting your own daughters?
