FLDS Prophet Warren Jeffs may be serving life in prison, but his followers continue with their work on the YFZ Ranch near Eldorado, Texas where the group's white limestone Temple towers over the town they are building. Polygamy, the practice of plural marriage, appears to be alive and well in the Lone Star State, despite laws to the contrary.

Utah Law "HB 30" on Emancipation
Attorney General Mark Shurtleff testified before the Senate Human Services Committee in favor of HB30, which would allow homeless, runaway and forsaken teens to seek legal emancipation from their parents. Shurtleff said the bill would assist in efforts to help the so-called "lost boys" - youths shunned by their elders in polygamous communities straddling the Utah-Arizona border. Committee members unanimously endorsed HB30, but not before lawmakers pressed the state's top prosecutor for a progress report on enforcement of crimes within polygamous communities. Lawmakers asked Shurtleff if there is more the state could do to penalize polygamists who abandon their children. A Salt Lake City attorney recently prepared a mock-up of a bill that would do just that, said House committee leader Rep. Bradley G. Last. The St. George Republican suggested such a tool might be used by law enforcement to infiltrate notoriously insular polygamous sects.

HOOOOOOOOORAY!!!! FINALLY THESE CHILDREN WILL HAVE A CHOICE. I THINK IT IS GREAT AND ALSO A LONG TIME COMING.
Such a great idea and yet...there are fathers in Apple Valley and St. George and Hurricane that kick their boys out too. Maybe it will be more than the system can handle. Las Vegas has the highest number nationwide of homeless from age 15 to 18.
I have brothers and sisters that are out and I do think it is a great idea. But I have met more kids in the last year that have nothing to do with CC and are out on their own. If it is good for one, it has to be good for all.
I seldom agree with M.I.B.,but,the days of "welfare polygamy"kicking boys out, bleeding the beast are over.Few would care how many wives
a man had,if there is no welfare fraud, underage wives etc.WSJ is gone.If the Flds he has left, are wise, they will look to their former
associates, the Nielsen/Naylor group and the Trenholm group. Both of these groups kept plural marriage, but the underage welfare marriages disapeared.
Anon 4:23 pm:
What can the nielsen/naylor clan offer the flds? they are offshoots from centennial park, amd as far as I know don't claim to have any higher priesthood authority than a bishophric.
In fact, who can tell me what the beliefs of that group are? Do they collect tithing? baptise? do they have a tax exempt church?
Anonymous of 9.23p.m.,I don't know
why any one would think any of the various off-shoot clans, have any
thing to offer,to the former FLDS.
Not much is known about the beleifs of the Nielsens.Considering
they are mostly the old Guy Musser faction,of what is now Cenntenial Park, they may have some strange beliefs.
Amen Anon.of 9:48 pm.The Trenholms
are no better. When westerners ask about the eastern clans here in Ga.I tell them think Kingstons without the incest.
The Trenholms are a very wealthy LDS family. No one has even proved they have anything to do with polygamy,at least since 1944.Where do you get your info Georgia?
I am Anonymous of 4;23pm,What I meant was not that the independant
groups had anything to offer us.Except an example. They work, pay their bills.Interact with the outside world. Not clustering together in a xenophobic town.No government agency is lining up to persicute any of them.
HEY!
That's not fair.
What's xenophobic?
I beleive that emmancipation is the idea that we are going to hold the adults responsible for the financial care of the child while still ensuring that the youth has the ability to make the changes that need to be made. Emancipation is not without its flaws.
I heard that Bistline family had a wonderful New Years Party, like they always do ...and Patrick Pipkin just happened to be there with his camera cell phone and all the people at the party are in "trouble", except for Patrick and Paul Pipkin.
What traitors! Two timin'
Xenophobia=Irrational fear of outsiders
Patrick doesn't have a camers cell phone........Not from him. Lets see the pictures.

Or is that what this whole blog is all about *******RUMORS**********
You set too the bar to high for your own prophet to jump over.
LOL - You said it 'saints must be saints', 'and that means clean'.
I'm simply stating that's too high of a standard for your pseudo prophet. (you can call it a bar, and make all sorts of excuses for him not being able to jump over it) bottom line is - he doesn't meet your own minimum requirements.
He's neither a saint, nor is he clean.
What do you mean "fully withdrawn from the world"?
an FLDS monk?
