FLDS Prophet Warren Jeffs may be serving life in prison, but his followers continue with their work on the YFZ Ranch near Eldorado, Texas where the group's white limestone Temple towers over the town they are building. Polygamy, the practice of plural marriage, appears to be alive and well in the Lone Star State, despite laws to the contrary.

The Origin of Mormon Polygamy
Verily, thus saith the Lord unto you my servant Joseph, that inasmuch as you have inquired of my hand to know and understand wherein I, the Lord justified my servants Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, as also Moses, David and Solomon, my servants, as touching the principle and doctrine of their having many wives and concubines--"Therefore, prepare thy heart to receive and obey the instructions which I am about to give unto you; for all those who have this law revealed unto them must obey the same."For behold, I reveal unto you a new and an everlasting covenant; and if ye abide not that covenant, then are ye damned; for no one can reject this covenant and be permitted to enter into my glory...."And again, very I say unto you, if a man marry a wife by my word, which is my law, and by the new and everlasting covenant,... they shall pass by the angels, and the gods, which are set there, to their exaltation... "Then they shall be gods, because they have no end;..."God commanded Abraham, and Sarah gave Hagar to Abraham to wife...."Was Abraham, therefore, under condemnation? Verily I say unto you, Nay; for I, the Lord, commanded it...."Abraham received concubines, and they bore him children; and it was accounted unto him for righteousness,..."David also received many wives and concubines, and also Solomon and Moses my servants,... and in nothing did they sin save in those things which they received not of me."David's wives and concubines were given unto him of me,..."And let mine handmaid, Emma Smith, receive all those that have been given unto my servant Joseph, and who are virtuous and pure before me; and those who are not pure, and have said they were pure, shall be destroyed, saith the Lord God...."Let no one, therefore, set on my servant Joseph; for I will justify him;..."And again, as pertaining to the law of the priesthood--if any man espouse a virgin, and desire to espouse another, and the first give her consent, and if he espouse the second, and they are virgins, and have vowed to no other man, then is he justified; he cannot commit adultery with that belongeth unto him and to no one else."And if he have ten virgins given unto him by this law, he cannot commit adultery, for they belong to him, and they are given unto him; therefore is he justified."
Fundy, I beleive this act of Sarai was for her own PERSONAL gradification to have children. Not to become a GODDESS.
ReplyDeleteGENESIS 16:1 Now Sarai, Abram’s wife, bare him no children: and she had a handmaid, an Egyptian, whose name was Hagar.
16:2 And Sarai said unto Abram, Behold now, Jehovah hath restrained me from bearing; go in, I pray thee, unto my handmaid; it may be that I shall obtain children by her. And Abram hearkened to the voice of Sarai. (ABRAM DID NOT HEARKEN TO THE VOICE OF GOD, BUT HIS WIFE)
16:3 And Sarai, Abram’s wife, took Hagar the Egyptian, her handmaid, after Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan, and gave her to Abram her husband to be his wife.
16:4 And he went in unto Hagar, and she conceived: and when she saw that she had conceived, her mistress was despised in her eyes.
16:5 And Sarai said unto Abram, My wrong be upon thee: I gave my handmaid into they bosom; and when she saw that she had conceived, I was despised in her eyes: Jehovah judge between me and thee. (NOTE-SARAI SAID TO ABRAM "MY WRONG BE UPON THEE")
16:6 But Abram said unto Sarai, Behold, thy maid is in thy hand; do to her that which is good in thine eyes. And Sarai dealt hardly with her, and she fled from her face. (ABRAM WAS NOT A STAND UP KIND OF GUY HERE AND SARAI WAS NOT A KIND HEARTED SISTER WIFE)
16:7 And the angel of Jehovah found her by a fountain of water in the wilderness, by the fountain in the way to Shur.
16:8 And he said, Hagar, Sarai’s handmaid, whence camest thou? and whither goest thou? And she said, I am fleeing from the face of my mistress Sarai.
6:9 And the angel of Jehovah said unto her, Return to thy mistress, and submit thyself under her hands.
16:10 And the angel of Jehovah said unto her, I will greatly multiply thy seed, that it shall not be numbered for multitude. 16:11 And the angel of Jehovah said unto her, Behold, thou art with child, and shalt bear a son; and thou shalt call his name Ishmael, because Jehovah hath heard thy affliction.
16:12 And he shall be as a wild ass among men; his hand shall be against every man, and every man’s hand against him; and he shall dwell over against all his brethren.
16:13 And she called the name of Jehovah that spake unto her, Thou art a God that seeth: for she said, Have I even here looked after him that seeth me?
16:14 Wherefore the well was called Beer-lahai-roi; behold, it is between Kadesh and Bered
Oh Street Liar is such a harsh word.
ReplyDeleteYep, we get all kinds.
Yes, Abraham going into Hagar was gratification for Sarah or so she thought.
She wanted a child by hook or crook. And she got her wish and love did not swell in her bosom for the mother Hagar or the child.
Yes, Abraham is the father of the faithful. God chose him.
Abram wasn't very special or very faithful at times, but God saw something in Abraham that made him special in the end and made a covenant, which is still in motion today.
The real God forgives and makes lemons out of lemonaide.
OK Street...
ReplyDeleteYou said "The Bible is true and eternal, the Word of God, including the polygamy, and our Heavenly Father is the prime exponent of the practice, being the only Father of us all, with millions of mothers. Ahhh yes, polygamy, by God Himself, and we are ALL His polygamous children."
Which Bible?
Uncle Warren told his students God allowed mistakes in the Bible, so Joseph Smith could correct it. Joseph Smith corrected the mistakes in the Bible, but Emma Smith let those awful apostates RLDS get hold of it after Joseph died. So it is also tainted.
Uncle Warren told the young folks to only read the BOM, D&C and Pearl of Great Price published after 1979. I believed he called it the triple threat?
"The Prophet Joseph Smith, Jr., was inspired to correct the King James Version of the Bible. With Sidney Rigdon acting as his scribe, he spent much time between 1830 and 1833 in this endeavor.
The Inspired Version was first published in 1867 by the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints under the leadership of Joseph Smith III.
PS...I also believe the RLDS don't believe in polygamy.
Street you are fake.
You are right Street, there is one Bible. But here you are wrong there are no mistakes, no errors in the Bible. If so God is not God.
ReplyDeleteAnd I am not a fake, I am saved through the blood of Christ Jesus. No half way stuff here.
Who is your savior street?
JUST FOR YOU STREET...
Pre 1979 Book of Mormon....
Explain away deary.
JACOB CHAPTER 1
15 And now it came to pass that the people of Nephi, under the reign of the second king, began to grow hard in their hearts, and indulge themselves somewhat in wicked practices, such as like unto David of old desiring many wives and concubines, and also Solomon, his son.
JACOB CHAPTER 2
25 Wherefore, thus saith the Lord, I have led this people forth out of the land of Jerusalem, by the power of mine arm, that I might raise up unto me a righteous branch from the fruit of the loins of Joseph.
26 Wherefore, I the Lord God will not suffer that this people shall do like unto them of old.
27 Wherefore, my brethren, hear me, and hearken to the word of the Lord: For there shall not any man among you have save it be one wife; and concubines he shall have none;
28 For I, the Lord God, delight in the chastity of women. And whoredoms are an abomination before me; thus saith the Lord of Hosts.
Couldn't sleep Val?
ReplyDeleteugh - please don't get vulgar about condition of shvantz in the morning.
ReplyDeleteWell Street why don't you start with Verse 27, you can't pick one without the other.
ReplyDeleteThis verse shows clearly why the Lord has directed the Prophets, from Uncle Joseph to Uncle Warren, should of cast out so many.
