I'm not surprised that FLDS people don't like the idea of a film that shows what is really going on in Colorado City. The whole point of "BANKING ON HEAVEN" is to shed light on the psychological & physical abuses being inflicted on thousands of innocent people. And to put the spotlight of government officials and others who have refused to acknowledge their responsibility to help.

Another purpose of the film is to raise money to implement a non-profit agency that will provide safe & legal transition services. A substantial percent of DVD sales will go to the non-profit.

  1. How much is a substancial percentage?

  2. Attitude.

Well maybe a little, it seems your advertising is a bit much.

Maybe you could keep your ads on the same thread instead of starting a new one every time you want to say something.

  3. Dut to technical difficulties I have to change my address for a brief period of time, until the blogosphere and I are in one accord. (That's a more expensive Honda) You have known me as Mugwump heretofore. Now reply to me as muggsey! Arguments, insults and differences of opinion are welcome. Vile language and gutter talk is opposed by the Web Administrater, with justification.

    Just a bit of info.

  5. Well - I for one have been excited about your film since I heard of it. I'm even more excited with the new footage, and enjoyed watching the new trailer.

And perhaps this does belong in the other thread, but no big deal - you're new to the blog.

  6. what nonprofit is the money going to?

  7. So you'll give 10-20 cents on the dollar and after expenses you should get a generous payday. Very altruistic!

  8. I'm not surprised either. It's not all "lies". Pennie Peterson, Ruth Stubbs, The Lost Boys, Fawn H & Fawn B are NOT all liars.

  9. I guess we can't name names here b/c I can't comment. I don't think all these young boys and girls are making this stuff up. Denial is NOT a river in Egypt.

Thank you for your kind words. I know I can allways count upon you to get things backward.

  12. Did you expect that someone purchased or rented thousands of dollars of equiptment, employed a crew, edited a film, and worked for three years without pay?

Hmmm - I don't think so, which makes the large donation to a non-profit organization even more generous. It's not like this film is hitting the big theatres and is going to make a mint. They are selling the DVD's (and it takes time to make those suckers too) at a very decent price, and won't make minimum wage by the time this film is all through.

This film isn't about the money they make.

    These women are not liars.

    Those boys are not liars.

This, is what FLDS did with those they didn't want, and with those who didn't want it, and those who didn't know they had a choice.

  13. I had no idea it was that devastating to you. What made you decide to commit yourself that fully to this project?

    Quoted by Fundy

Ahem, I wouldn't mind a little truth, since it's your only purpose.

Who are the enemies of zion?

Tell the truth now : )

  17. Well, common sense would tell you that if people are complaining there must be something rotten going on that's causing the stink.

you could root it out but, you're afraid of finding the REAL truth because you would have to abandon some of your pet ideas. They are just so much hot air.

Complaining were the priests, scribes and Pharasees. Remember, Jesus had interrupted their little commercial activity in the temple courtyard on two different occasions. He called them thieves and robbers and stated that "My house call be called a House of Prayer, but you have made it into a den of thieves." The scripture tells it like it was. The corrupt clergy were the accusers. It was the common man who spread their cloaks and palm branches before him as he rode into Jerusalem on the donkey's back. Remember, the commoner was in debt to the ruler so, their interpetation of the Golden Rule was enforced by financial pressure: "The man with the gold makes the rules."

Since WJ controls the finances of FLDS, I supect he makes ALL the rules. And Jeffs is still on the run, like the coward that he is. He think's he's the Wizard, but he is just the brainless Scarecrow, the heartless Tin man and the Cowardly Lion. He's hoping one of his little maidens (Dorothy) will be able to direct him to Oz.

  20. OTS--just imaging what the FLDS would have done to me if I had done what Jesus did before I left. Imagine me going into Saturday work meeting with a whip and lashing Lyle or William and telling them that Saturday was a day of consecration and freewill, not a day of coersion and that they were all a den of thieves. I would likely have been crucified by the FLDS.

"I'm not surprised that FLDS people don't like the idea of a film that shows...the psychological & physical abuses being inflicted on thousands of innocent people."

Arent the FLDS people the innocent people you describe?
