FLDS Prophet Warren Jeffs may be serving life in prison, but his followers continue with their work on the YFZ Ranch near Eldorado, Texas where the group's white limestone Temple towers over the town they are building. Polygamy, the practice of plural marriage, appears to be alive and well in the Lone Star State, despite laws to the contrary.

BANKING ON HEAVEN
I don't think the people who made this show have any really good idea of how polygamy works at all. To take Colorado City and make it the prime example of how it works is a disservice to all the other families out there. I think its more of just the same old media bias at work. Its very difficult for someone not involved in it , to understand. You people who made this movie have no real idea of polygamous life or will you probably ever. The stereo types and ones shown on TV are only the ones having problems. Not those for whom this has worked and is still working.
It's not about Polygamy, but the abuses of the FLDS. Who cares about polygamy.
ReplyDeleteAnd as I stated in a different thread...if nothing wrong is going on in the FLDS, then why not open the doors and welcome people in to show what a wonderful life it is. Why not be proud of the way you live and show everyone how happy the FLDS lifestyle is for them.
btw - it's narcissistic to start your own thread for a reply to someone elses thread. Your ego must need it's own home.
ReplyDeleteAs I understand it, the film is mainly focused on atrocities that have occured in the FLDS community. Have you seen the film?
ReplyDeleteAs I understand it, the film focuses mainly on the atrocities that are occuring in the FLDS community. I haven't seen the film yet. Have you?
ReplyDeleteHey Fundy,
ReplyDeleteThe person who directed this film grew up in polygamy. She was part of the LeBaron group and she also lived in Short Creek for a while.
Yes, she does understand polygamy and how it works in Colorado City.
Great - but do you have to create a new thread EVERY time you do that?
ReplyDeleteThen why aren't you following warren?
ReplyDeleteHow will you know who this one mighty and strong is?
ReplyDeleteI see a Monty Python moment coming. lol
ReplyDeletewho are the enemies of zion?
ReplyDeleteFundy, with each question I ask you - the first thing you do is slam me
ReplyDelete" you have no understanding "
" this is really simple stuff "
I could actually NOT ask you these questions - and assume quite a lot - would you prefer that?
Would you prefer that when you make a statement, I take it to mean whatever I think it should mean? - honestly - that's how you want me to view your statements?
Or, would you prefer that I ask you questions, because I have no freakin idea what the heck your talkin about.
Are the enemies of Zion and the enemies of the FLDS synonymous?
ReplyDeleteIs that something that is in your scriptures, or is that something that you just believe?
Fundy,
ReplyDeleteAgain the movie has nothing to do with Polygamy but the abuses of the FLDS on it's members. I ask once again, if nothing wrong is going on, why not open your doors and show the public there is nothing to hide and you are proud of the lifestyle you live? Why live so secretly? Why have trucks of people that scare people out of town? Why do children have to run and hide when a stranger passes?
I can answer my own question and that is because the abuses ARE happening.
Discussion is one thing, however it has become mostly an attack on the FLDS. The FLDS have had obvious leadership problems in the last few years. If in fact they had someone step up and take over they could get this turned around.
ReplyDeleteFundy,
ReplyDeleteYou said:
"It so very obvious you are trying to put someone in a position to attack their religious beliefs.
As so many of the contributors to this website do.
You need to understand that this country was born of religious freedom, and you and the others ought to practice your own religion and quite minding everyone elses religion."
Now go back and read your own posts YOU HYPOCRITE!
Fundy,
ReplyDeleteThe one and only nation of Zion has an army and is using as we speak in Israel.
And I whole heartly agree with you that one should study the Mormon theology to understand the FLDS.
I for one have done so extensively.
Both doctrines are a danger to the public.
Do I sense a dual personality? Fundy, just who are you and what do you believe? One passage you are on one side of the issue and in the next you've changed sides.
ReplyDeleteI know I speak for myself and think there are several others who regularly post here that say that we hold no grudge or desire for harm to FLDS rank and file. We believe sincerely that they are being used by individual(s) who know how to manipulate and force their will on otherwise intelligent persons. My argument is with the system of belief. It is so superficial, so self-serving, so un-natural, so idiotic that it is extremely difficult to understand how the leadership, i.e. Warren Jeffs has so warped the minds of his closest followers.
In effect Warren says: "I'm god and if you don't want me to send you away from your family obey, no matter how un-natural and un-healthy my request." "Work, work, toil, suffer, sacrifice, my blessing is worth it all." (In the meantime I'm in hiding with how many child brides, juvinile boys and women who are "wives" in the most loose fashion.) "Send money!!!!!!" Yea verily!
Fundy - I was asking simple questions.
ReplyDelete"How will you know who the one strong and might is?"
"Who are the enemies of Zion?"
Why can't you handle simple questions?
Are you just scared to give an honest answer?
Don't roll your lack of courage on my lap - I've no fear of stating my beliefs.
You don't give answers this is what you gave to my simple question:
ReplyDeleteME
" Are the enemies of Zion and the enemies of the FLDS synonymous? "
YOU
"You are so set on talking about the FLDS you don't seem to be able to handle discussions of other topics. And in order to talk about the FLDS them you really need some education of Mormon Doctrine. Do you have that? If not you really will never have a good understanding of the FLDS or The LDS.
It so very obvious you are trying to put someone in a position to attack their religious beliefs.
As so many of the contributors to this website do.
You need to understand that this country was born of religious freedom, and you and the others ought to practice your own religion and quite minding everyone elses religion."
YES or NO would have sufficed, and an explanation
That was AFTER I asked this simple question
"who are the enemies of zion?"
AND YOU DIDN'T ANSWER IT THEN EITHER
I WOULD LOVE IF YOU COULD GIVE A SIMPLE ANSWER
Atar_i
ReplyDeleteIn my experience I have observed that only intelligent beings are able to reduce any faction to it's lowest common denominator or any explanation to it's simplest terms.
These guys still are engaged in games of ring-a-ring-of roses, pocket pull of poseys, ashes, ashes, all fall down. They have no clew as to the game's association with the Black Death.
'pull' should be 'full' typo, so sew me.
ReplyDeleteAgain Fundy, why post if you can't answer? She did ask simple questions out of curiosity. They did not sound mean spirited. Why not just answer her questions. They do NOT seem to be one sided. Seems maybe YOU are one sided. Or, again, you don't know the answer. It was not given in your brain washing classes.
ReplyDeleteWarren probably just told you what you wrote, without explanation. And, so you are not kicked out, you just follow and do. A little puppet at best.
I'll stop asking - got it.
ReplyDeleteMaybe some of them are just put off because you banned street from this blog.
ReplyDeleteor not - (putz) - I lost all my compassion for your mental breakdown with your post on the last thread.
ReplyDeleteWhy should she? She's got your full attention and is obviously bothering you a great deal. You can't cope with her probing questions and extremely intelligent rebuttals.
