The New Colorado City

I am wondering what is going to happen next in the power struggle between Mr. Wisan, the judge and the delinquent FLDS payment on the UEP.
Will the judge sell all the homes and land in Colorado city and Bountiful Canada piece by piece until it is owned by anybody? I doubt very few of the FLDS could afford to buy their own homes. At the same time I honestly wish they would get over their stubbornness and realize that $100.00 a month payment is nothing compared to the $700.00 to $1200.00 mortgage payments the rest of us make.
FOR SALE!!! POLYGVILLE!!! Going once....going twice....
I should have a little more sympathy, maybe. I am wondering what will happen to my family and hope they will be OK. But at the same time I can't help but saying it's going to be pretty hard for the FLDS if they all have to move to rent some place in Hurricane.
People in Hurricane, beware! The polygs are coming! The polygs are coming! lol.

  1. To me the saddest part is that they will cry until the very end that it's persecution and not their own stubborness that has created this disaster. I, too, hope that they realize how good they really have it and protect their homes with some reasonable choices and actions.

  2. I'm curious...Do all the FLDS in CC still believe/follow WJ's [or is it Willie now?] or have some of them realized they've been left to hang in the wind? Are they still required to fund WJ/Willie/YFZ? I get the feeling, from reading various blogs, that Willie, et al, are more interested in the getting the land than caring about the people left behind.

  3. I very much get the same impression, MC. I think that if they were actually concerned about the members they'd be a lot less worried about absolute control and a lot more concerned with working out a reasonable plan to meet the needs of all concerned. But absolute power is a hard habit to recover from, I guess.

  4. I don't know about all the people still in C.C., but I do know my parents and other family members are still faithful to the man in charge (whoever he is).
The last I heard, every elder (man 18 yrs+ that has been ordained) was required to give a tithe of $1000.00 per month. If they don't they will get ex-communicated. I guess when you have five wives and twenty children to feed an extra $100.00 a month is pretty hard to come up with especially if you believe it's just going to the "evil gentiles who are trying to destroy the 'work'" and your prophet told you not to.
Faith is a very hard thing to kill.
I am sad to see my home town come to this.

  5. I can see how those demands could make the $100.00 occupancy fee difficult. It makes one wonder how they would pay taxes and the like if they WERE given the deeds to their property. (Also, it makes one wonder how they can possibly care for their wives and children.) Why do human beings find it so easy to believe that they aren't being "righteous" unless they (and their families) are suffering?

  6. Last I heard, the FLDS owe the lawyers over 10 million. Maybe this is why they need the UEP back, so the FLDS can sell it to pay the lawyers. Warren has already stated in church that the "Short Creek" stake of Zion has been rejected by the Lord. I am sure his only use now for the UEP Land is the cash

  7. Now these people will flatter our people to join in a peaceful solution in brining the ways of the
world among us. And this is such a fine tuned flattery and test, that many will give way; and the
Lord is warning me I must not give into any influence, where they offer the ways ofthe world,
though this woman judge and this protector, receiver, intermediary, this man that has control of
the UEP, and is recommending who and who should not be trustees. They put on a big show on
dismissing all the proposed trustees, the apostates,
thus far, and they are reaching for our people in a flattering way. And so the Lord shown me this is of the devil, and though this woman has done something that appears very friendly to our people, it is a great deception, and He has shown me that in
their hearts they desire to corrupt and destroy our
    people.
I thank the Lord for this warning.
We must continue to answer them nothing and not give into their proposals and ways.

May the Lord guide me that I will not compromise in the slightest
degree, knowing His will is the United Effort Plan Trust is rejected of God, and is not the gathering place; and the people must qualifY to come to the lands of refuge, or else be rejected.

And we will be scattered as a people and then the faithful will be gathered.

And that is the Lord's way, and we will not work out differences so called with this judge and the government and compromise with the
    ways ofthe world.

  8. BUYING INTO ZION (R17 YFZ LAND)

Stephen Harker and David Allred arrived this morning at R17. And I called by 11:15 a.m. We had a meeting of the First Presidency, Brother Wendell Nielsen, Brother Merril Jessop and also the men who are members or owners of Rl7 on the
    legal records.

And we discussed the sale of R17 land. And the way they wrote the agreement was YFZ land company still owns the land, but David Allred is selling his interest as a member to three men, Stephen Harker, Raymond Jessop, and Isaac Jeffs, three men that the Lord appointed. I ecorded the meeting, at least me speaking. Isaac and I were driving along, and the other brethren were sitting in Brother Wendell Nielsen's living room at R17.

I emphasized the Lord's will was, that these three men should have the land in their names for now in preparation to transfer the land into a religious trust.

And that David Allred was to sell out and have no part or interest in that land of refuge.

All the men were united and willing to do the Lord's will. I also told them the Lord's will was that Brother Merril as the Bishop should have all the rights to business, manage the land corporation.

In reality, he is performing the work of Bishop, and he comes under the President's direction.

We agreed that they should go see the lawyer that wrote up the articles of that YFZ land corporation on Monday, and get all the documents prepared.

I told them to make it very clear that there were three buyers.

  9. I had Patricia count the consecrations, and I had her deliver a package of one hundred eighty-five thousand to Brother
    Merril, consecrations from Short Creek.
i put on record that I had Seth deliver twenty thousand to
Jerold Williams for R23, five thousand given to Shem Jeffs, five thousand to Nathanael Allred to take care of the families in Colorado, and five thousand to Jonathan Allred to take care of the family in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
So adding that up, it was a total of two hundred twenty thousand dollars consecrations from Short Creek.
I thank the Lord for opening the way.

there will be no agreement with the courts on UEPtrust. That is what's sad. The federal government is now involved in FLDS both in US and in Canada.
Greed, Fear, Guilt are what got FLDS in the shape they are in today.
    Greed -from Leaders
    Fear- taught to member
Guilt- if you don't do as your told.
Power and Control are the mainstay of FLDS leadership, you all know that, it has nothing to with religious belief.
Leadership will allow members to LOSE it all rather than give up control!

  11. bbgae,

I am not aware of any who have been kicked for not making the payment of $1,000 every month. But the pressure to send in the money is pretty great, as we are constantly reminded that the prophet is in prison and suffering for us because of our lack of faith, and that once we are all perfectly united he will come forth and take the prepared to “Zion.” We are also reminded that we are at war with the devil and that the "mob" (composed of former members, law enforcement, government officials etc) is after us and trying to take our children, our lands, and have already taken the prophet. After a good helping of how persecuted we are for the lord's sake, we are then asked to give all we can to help fight the lord's fight, as it is our fault because we have been “half hearted.”

Up until last week, we received these talks at the Saturday update meetings. Friday of this last week, all the elders received a text that said:

"Update meeting is cancelled for tomorrow and until further notice. Do not be discouraged but exert greater faith with and for our Prophet."

Then Saturday, now that the "blessing" of the meeting is gone, here comes the predictable text to all the elders:

"Dear Brethren, The storehouse is under great stress in meting its obligations. This is a special call to give all we can to take care of the needs of the Priesthood as soon as possible."

Why is the storehouse under such great financial pressure? Is there some great building projects being constructed? No. It is because of legal fees.

Why so many legal fees? Is it because the devil is making a last ditch effort to destroy the work of god, and is attacking the saints in every way he can? That is what the flds leadership want us to think.

    However,

I can't think of a legal fight the flds is in that they didn't sow the seeds THEMSELVES to create. Is it then really persecution, or is it more pride with a little stupidity mixed in?

There is a saying that goes something like "You can't talk your way out of a situation you acted your way into."

It is sad to see friends and family in the flds paying all that money which is going to the lawyers who are trying to "talk" the flds out of situations that flds leadership "acted" themselves into. But I guess that is the price the people must pay for elevating an imperfect human to the status of a god who can do no wrong, who must be obeyed, and can’t be questioned without losing your salvation.

  12. IITMOC,
Well STOP Giving!!!! Take your money and support your own family!
As long as members throw money at the problem, the problems will continue to get worse.

Willie Jessop and All leadership have managed to run legal bills up into the millions. Each one has his own lawyer, and then the Leadership has lawyers for leadership, then lawyers for Flds members. The list of lawyers is LONGGGGGG and ridiculus! It's time people started thinking for themselves instead of complaining. Your all very smart, and have enough common sense to do for yourselves! BE Independant!!

I know this is going to come off as insulting....however....maybe FLDS should really stand for "Faithful Lemmings Doing Servitude" if they are still blindly following and tithing to a "prophet" who has already told them they aren't good enought for Zion....but keep sending me your $$ so I can get you into heaven! They should [get in line] sue him for celestial fraud!! He needs to prove his case...or else, buyer beware!!

  15. anon 10:11,

We have received the promise that there is a place for every one of us in zion, if we will qualify. That means perfect obedience to those over you in the priesthood and sacrificing any thought that is contrary or questions "authority."

There is also the problem of the "time being very short" which I've heard all my life. What if the flds leaders are right, and you have not been perfectly obedient to them (after all, they speak for god, and are god's representative(s) on earth)? You will then be DESTROYED with the wicked while those who "qualified" are lifted up and preserved. Is that a chance worth taking?

Fear of ones own actions and the responsibility of the consequences when there is a guarantee of salvation and no responsibility for your actions as long as they were what you were TOLD to do by “presiding authority” is mighty compelling. That , I believe, is why so many continue to cling to a promise that has yet to be made good on.

Yeah, thats the last thing Warrenites can handle, is getting busted breaking the ten commandments, by bearing false witness.

Y'all know of Winnie and his confessions - only he called it "LYING" but yeah, Warren has done well at bearing false witness and now look where it got him.

I recommend that people continue to fund his lawyers, because its a tornado that is sucking CC dry and why stop it?

Just give it up! Thats what your false prophet recommends! Think about it.

HOW can a person of faith trust him?

I just wish and pray all good people of the FLDS get through this soon.

Thanks for sharing. It sounds as if you have first or at most second-hand information. I am not surprised at what you relate as being the tenor for the weekly "lessons". It is a very typical line for repressive cults to use when the heat is turned up on them because of the leadership's bad choices. It's so sad because if any of your friends and family still fooled by this could take a look at the pattern of other abusive cults they'd find the exact same pattern, same abuses, same excuses, same demands. It would be bound to open the eyes and minds of some, if not most. But because they aren't "faith promoting" it probably won't happen. My heart bleeds for you and yours. Please feel free to share more as events unfold. It is always nice to see a calm, reasoned appraisal from the inside. ;D

Kind of sucks to be a woman then if you're FLDS, eh? Some of us believe that if there is a God, and particularly if it is a "loving" god as I've been assured the FLDS god is supposed to be, that it would empower both men and women, not one over the other. Just a thought.

Rebeckah, it is first hand knowledge.

Curious, where did you get that quote from? That's not the one uncle Warren had us memorize. You also say it is Biblical, but how did you come to that conclusion (besides being told by someone else)?

Back on topic; I don't see the judge allowing the sale of the homes out from under the people. I do see the possibility of the trust being dissolved, and perhaps a fee paid to receive title to your house with said fee going to pay off the debts and judgements against the trust. I'm not sure how claims made to property that one isn't currently living on or using will be handled.

I think the sooner all the land is privatized, the better off we will all be. As long as Wisan and the flds are fighting in the courts, the lawyers are the only ones who will benefit.

    ReplyDelete
  31. IITMOC

Great post. I hope that is accomplished.

I fear though that the AG wants to just give the homes to the FLDS church straight away with out putting it in residences hands first.

This is tantamount to giving 100 million in RE to a convicted imprison felon, not to mention all the residents will then be his "hostage" again.

The original proposal preventing this was good, but they have strayed from that. Wisan and the AZ AG see the danger and resist.

Its hard to call with the legal beagels at odds.

Hopefully the people who no longer find Warren worthy as a Prophet will stand up and claim there rights to their homes.

Before Warren Jeffs was ever apprehended he wanted YFZ ranch out of David Allreds name, and was working on a NEW trust agreement for YFZ ranch. Curious, where did you get that quote from? That's not the one uncle Warren had us memorize. You also say it is Biblical, but how did you come to that conclusion (besides being told by someone else)?

REPLY: A. Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec, which is after the order of God (Hebrews 5:10).

    B. Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.

Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,

And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed. (1Peter 2:5-9

    C. Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession (Heb.3:1).

    D. Where else, besides being told?
"How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God (Romans 10:14-17).

  36. Curious,

I gotta hand it to you, you are good at cutting and pasting.

    However,

Not one of your Biblical quotes backs up your statement which you told us was Biblical. That statement was "God is Priesthood, and Priesthood is God". In fact, I’m curious as to where you got that quote.

Now you can use the Bible to show that there is a Priesthood which is OF God, but that is much different than saying that Priesthood IS God.

  37. IITMOC, if you were in charge of the FLDS, what would you do?
Should the legal expenses be cut off and would that result in another power struggle? What if the UEP is handed back to the FLDS, will that be a problem with you? Anonymous 10:42, you do realize that Warren worked very hard to make the "prediction" come true, don't you? Is it really "prophetic" if you predict that someone will die at a certain date and time and then go out and shoot them?

    ReplyDelete
  39. IITMOC-
:) No, you didn't miss much. I was gone for a spell a little while back, too.
Yes, we all hope the land will be privatized. However I am not as optimistic as you are about it because I remember reading somewhere where either Wisan or the judge saying something like- they weren't going to give the FLDS the opportunity to own their own land because they knew they would only turn right around and give the deeds back to Warren making the UEP11.
However, since the Jeffs couldn't wait for that to happen and went ahead and made their own UEP 11 in Texas, maybe the people in Colorado City have a chance at owing their own land. I have to say I think that would be preferable.

Another thing I've been thinking of lately- how maybe this possession of land could possibly end in benefit for the FLDS (at least the ones left behind in Colorado City). Because what finally got me to thinking and seeing things clearly was to have a lot of things go wrong. And I put up with it and was sweet and endured and endured until I couldn't take it anymore and it still kept coming until finally I had to say to myself, "This is not right. I KNOW this is not right. This is not how I was raised, and if this is their idea of what is right they are wrong."

Maybe, just maybe, with the many of the FLDS and most of the FLDS leaders no longer living in Colorado City, and church on Sunday, and no more Saturday meetings, (I am sorry to hear about that by the way) people will slowly start to become themselves instead of trying to be some impossible perfect and maybe you all can be happier. I really do hope that. I really do hope the people in Colorado City can relax a little bit and just enjoy their lives and maybe one day thank God for being "left behind" instead of feeling alone.

    God bless.

I really love this section, page 10:

"The deceased/renewed people from the various religious factions interred in this cemetery are getting along so well together, they are a shining example of cooperation for those of us who are still alive and struggling with such a simple concept."

That is the most powerful and honest statement to come out of all of this.

  60. besides no one really ever escapes. why did any one hate Val so much any how. Why did they worry about anything he said and did. I think that you just all ran out of insults so you tried to dig up a few more to throw around. What a hateful world this is. The nice people are persicuted and the crimnals are put on a pedistle. I always thought it should have been me that died, but I see that no matter who you are, there is only mud slinging and sensationilsts out there to hurt. I notice they do it to all the people in the world. What a trashy world we live in. Too bad my world did not end yet........

  61. I used to like Mark Shirtleff until the last five years. I used to think our courts and lawyers cared until I heard what they all had to say. I think in some way they do care, and in some ways they do not. They most certianly do not care about religion, except their own and then it is difficult to say for real, with all the cruel people in the world. Poor government. They have to deal with the liars from town.....Too bad my world did not end yet. Val was lucky.......

Im sorry you lost your family. Im sorry you were treated so badly. Im sorry you ended up being born into Flds. Im sorry you don't understand that Warren Jeffs and Rulon Jeffs are responsible for every decision that was made, even with you and your children.
They were "wolves in sheeps" clothing. They turned family against family, child against child, mother against father.
And why did they do that Ruth? So they could be worshipped, idolized.
So they could live in huge houses, while others like yourself and everyone else, paid for it.
Ruth, your not crazy! Although many would wish it so.
The world will end, when God decides to end it, not one second sooner, and NO ONE knows when that will be, not Joseph Smith, or Brigham Young, or John Taylor, or Rulon Jeffs, or Warren Jeffs!

  67. I quote: "God will do nothing except he reveals it to his servants the prophets".

As for turning family against family, again I quote: "Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
And a man's foes shall be they of his own household (Matt. 10:34).

  69. well at any rate Val is dead. It is weird to hear this talk. Ruth was not with Val when he died. She was alone. There was nothing dishonest about how he died. He was buried with honor's in his church. I think it is a terrible shame that people write there books flavored to slander people who would not ever hurt anyone. I could write a book. Why should I? There is so much hate on this blog and lies that no books need written. Val was buried with Honor in his church after every thing that happened and Ruth was treated like a germ. just like normal. Leave Val alone. Who ever is writing this book knows nothing about truth. I would not ever put the truth down. Every one is enjoying there little game of slander and hatred. Why put the truth there. Some one may care if the truth was written.

  70. UEP CAUSE No 1016

    State vs FM Jessop

State Closing Brief – Motion To Suppress

NOTICE OF FILING OF STATE’S PROPOSED ORDER…

Then the Order is signed by the Judge.

Here, you have the prosecution actually writing Orders for a judge to sign, instead of a judge independently issuing or writing the Order. You have the prosecution actually dictating how a judge should rule. All she has left to do is to rubber-stamp the Order of the Prosecution, not an actual Order of a judge or a court at all.

I am sure that you can get plenty of mileage out of this dark and loathsome legal fact and flaw in their enforcement of the law and their administration of justice, and bring some crucial legal reforms in the process.

  71. to the person who said that no one knew when the world would end, I believe you. It is written in scripture that not even the angels in heaven know the hour or the day. Yet every day some one dies. every day some one goes to the spirit world and there world ended. so in a way the prophets are all knowing. As to the subject of Val, he was a traitor. And he was betrayed. He betrayed those who loved him the most and was betrayed by the people he catered too who he thought was his freinds. This hurt his family and friends, but they loved him with all there hearts. Leave this matter and subject alone. If you knew the truth, you would have to know something about loyalty, love, honor, and decentcy. Since there is so much hatred in the world, I am not sure any one could understand anything about the things that happened. If there is a book written then it is to glorify gossipers and sensationlists. If we wrote the story from Flora's veiw, it would be written Excape from little green men from mars.......

  74. "Here, you have the prosecution actually writing Orders for a judge to sign, instead of a judge independently issuing or writing the Order."

From what I understand, Anonymous 4:36, that is common practice in some legal circles. Essentially the attornies write the order they wish the judge to sign off on, the judge picks the one closest to what he/she would rule anyway, and then makes whatever minor changes they feel appropriate. It saves the judge time, from what I understand, and both sides have the right to present their own pre-written orders for the judge to consider.

  75. this is how the day I was in court went...first I made a complaint to the detective that I had been abused by this man. They did tell me to stay home and they would protect me. I did promptly get in my truck and go to the court house. they did bring an inacent man in. They had all the people there to throw a great lie in the face of this inacent man. When they seen me, they did go around the corner. Then two lawyers came in. And the court begin there session. The opposing lawyer said they had no witnesses. The other lawyer told them to not play games. They did debate the issue regarding me and the inacent man. They did conclude that I was a victum and he would not be charged. The lawyer did procede to tell the Judge to drop the charges and it was done.....Since I had not brought any charges against him and the little game was halted that day. The persicution did continue in full fledge when I left the court room.......at any rate, they have it on file and written that there was no charges and he was not guilty.....
then comes the ones who hated us.....What? how could it be. we better look again. our persicution did not stop them. we better make up some more lies.........That is our court system in Arizona....Utah just winked at there lies......

  77. ruth,
I don't care who you love, the important thing is the person you love, respects you, cares for you, treats you with dignity. It's very silly to say you would follow a man to jail who calls"himself" prophet when God never called him to be prophet.
Warren Jeffs isn't a God ruth, he is flesh and blood and human with human faults just like everyone else. You speak about God in one breath and apply that to Warren Jeffs.
God is a very jealous God ruth, he allows NO human being to be put above him. Prophets were never worshiped in the Bible ruth. In fact prophets stayed only where they were asked, and ate with whom was willing to share their food.
Prophets in the Bible didn't have people hanging images of them up on their walls Ruth, that's worshiping an Idol , which God told us NEVER to do.
Warren Jeffs isn't any more Godly than anyone else ruth. You are looking through rose colored glasses because you won't allow yourself to heal, and move on with your life. For that Im sorry.

  81. actually you all really like to speak for Ruth do you not? What do you really know? About Ruth I mean, besides the terrible horrible gossip that floats about. I shall tell you something about Val and Ruth. Ruth never wanted Val at all. Not even a tiny crumb. Uncle Warren never cared about Ruth one bit. Not one Iota. And neither did any other man on earth for that matter. Ruth is a hardened old crusty woman. she has no desire for men at all. She has no desire for anything in this world. She never even hardly leaves her house and when she does everyone comes out in hurddles to slandder her so they can look bigger. You are all so weird, if you even think a second Ruth wanted Val. Ruth is a human being, and has a right to exist. Why do you all talk ugly to her? Does if make you feel superior? Have none of you gone through anything in your life where you felt abandoned and alone?
Its so awful to have a religious group made up of mostly family members in one way or the other, and fighting with each other, because some have left, or been kicked out. How tradgic for all of you, you have lost Fathers, Mothers, sisters, brothers, cousins because there is a dividing line of whose in and whose out. And if your in, you treat those who are out as dead! 87. I was starving to death on the street, when Val gave me food. He gave me medicine. I had no home. I could not go home, because great big wonderful men felt like they could pass Judgment on me. I had not ever spent two hours talking to Val before that. Laurene had left him. I never had a relationship with val or any other man. I never have. Men always took what they wanted from me and left me with nothing. Val was nice to me, and he did scream at me. I did all I could to help Val and Laurene. I would still do all I could to help them....How-ever I have nothing to do with either of them now. some one else is taking care of his family and I am doing well. I never once disliked my family. I have always done all I could for them...please quit talking about me. I am not really anything. just a geek. who did I want? Who did I want? every one of you know......so my life is just a stupid shame.......I never wanted Val. Not ever. He was like a father to me. The only one I ever knew, but I knew very little of him.....My sister was married to him, a long time before Laurene. She gave me my first candy. She gave me my first cake. She helped me make my cloths. She taught me to drive. then when I needed help the most, she threw me away......To her I was stupid. She was not being mean to her. To her I was stupid. just as simple as that. I was stupid.....Val always had money...he could afford his family. I was always poor....so what do you all know......Laurene helped me. I never disliked her. I just do not like to hear the critazisim. Great hero Flora, her and her saving.......and her show.....just do not talk about Val. Just do not talk about me.......ain't there enough sorrow in the world to satisfy all the people who like to destroy with out including me in it.....and do not blame the people in my church for what happened to me. None of them knew anything about it. Most of them never knew anything about me. Most of them never even heard my name. that is just the men who did abuse, and Val was not one of those men, although he did get caught up in his own trouble. Val was very nice, when I was helping him. I am glad he had his family back. At least as long as he did. I should not have taken anything from him. I should have just kept walking and maybe things would have been better. I never had a relationship as people suggest with Val. He was family to me, but nothing more or less than that. I was not his wife, lover, or girl friend. Some people tired to make it that way, because I put a J between my name. This was not for Jessop at all. It was for Jeffs. and although I am mocked for loving who I do, it does not change me, my life or how I feel. People love others in jail all the time. Why should I be any different. when I say this do not suppose I agree with abuse. I like to see people happy. Happy in every way. I like quarels to be mended and bridges to be built. I do not feel like the man I love in Jail is guilty. I know some of you dis-agree. that is ok. each to there own opinion. And just so you know, no one is being rude to me now. Not any one. in or out of the church. people can change. things change. and thank you to those that do care. even sinners have people who care, just not the disabled.......or the saints.

Ninty nine percent of the people who commit suicide are on this. that is a side affect of the drug. I am not better than any one. I have no power. Remember who does. Are you a doctor that can suggest such a prescription? My doctor did not feel I needed drugs. So, feel free to give your self some med's if you feel enclined to medicate. You do not even Know who really posts these posts. give yourself your drugs, I mean medicine. SEe if you can see better that way. Every one deserves there chance. The Lord is the Judge. As long as a person is standing, I shall leave Judgement to him. I am not really all that picked on. even in mockry there is conection. try living with out anything at all. Count the blessings you have. I know almost nothing about him. May the Lord bless and keep him. Laurene is truly blessed to have such great friends. She gave me a book and told me it was a matter of principle and the apostates could only go to see Val in St. George. she said I was not welcome in the Church. I forgave her. She is greatly blessed to have friends like she has.....Keep smiling. I am doing well. I just should not complain. 97. Anonymous 7/16 @ 11:37,

I am not going to encourage you to take antidepressants, nor am I going to attempt to discourage you, that is something between you and your physician, but mainly for you to decide. However, I would like to point out a few things about one of your comments:

"I did some research on medicine that people take for depresion. Ninty nine percent of the people who commit suicide are on this."

First of all, this statement is incorrect. Since there are many, many different antidepressants (and several do the exact opposite) there is no possible way that 99% of people who commit suicide are on any one at any given time. In fact, I guarantee you that 99% of the people who commit suicide aren't even on antidepressants at all. However, there are bound to be a higher percentage of people on antidepressants who DO commit suicide. That is for a few reasons. The first is that they are depressed and depressed people are the people who commit suicide. Another reason that is considered probable is that when some people begin antidepressant therapy that they actually feel better enough to go through with committing suicide where they were too depressed before. The final, probable reason, is that the antidepressant being used is affecting serotonin in the brain the wrong way. (Essentially, some reduce serotonin and some increase it, and it's just the luck of the draw as to which effect will help what person. That's why you're supposed to be under close observation when you begin treatment.)

"that is a side affect of the drug."

As you see, it's not so much a side effect of the drug as it is a side effect of depression.

Now please understand, I'm not trying to push you to take antidepressants. I think they're overused and that not enough doctors are really prepared for the follow-through needed to see to it that they are effective. They can be and ARE effective, but they are NOT a long term solution to anything. If you don't feel you need them, and particularly if your doctor agrees with you, then you should certainly do what you feel is right for yourself. However, I would also hate to see you deny yourself a treatment that might be helpful through misinformation, so I wanted to address that issue. Antidepressants are not a cure-all, but they can be helpful. Only you know what is right for you. I wish you well on your journey.

(Someone who has been on plenty of antidepressants herself and is now, quite thankfully, able to do well without them. But they sure helped when I really needed them.)

    ReplyDelete
  98. Well, Rebeckcah, that was delightful. I am not trying to say that medicine is not helpful, if a person needs it. In my case, it was every one trying to force me on something I did not need, because they could not control themselves. that is all. I really have a lot of friends. I should not complain so much. I do not have any issues with our government. Not any. they have actually been very kind to me. end of complaining journey.....I very much do not need medicine.....

    ReplyDelete
  99. "In my case, it was every one trying to force me on something I did not need, because they could not control themselves. that is all."

Unfortunately that happens far to often now-a-days. We've faced it with my grandson who has ADHD. He does well on the tiny dose of medication we give him for school and what does the doctor want? To up the dose and for us to use it every day, whether he's in school or not. (Needless to say, we've left the dosage as it is and he only gets it on school days. It's to make it possible for him to learn in class, the rest of the time he's fine the way he is.)

"I very much do not need medicine..."

I'm happy to hear that. As I said, you are the only person who can ultimately decide what is best for you. And I am well aware that even when you no longer need antidepressants that some days will be good and others will be bad. That's just life. So don't worry that I (at least) think you "complain". I don't mind listening to a little venting -- it can help to clear the air and the mind. :)

    ReplyDelete
  100. I like this one statement that you said, "I ALONE CAN ULTIMATELY DECIDE WHAT IS BEST FOR ME! That leaves my abusive husband and his weird friends out of my life. As far as children with this medical condition that you speak about, try something that works. You would see a great deal more healing, if you would see him the way he is. Fine the way he is. I know every one is med, hungry and think popping a pill is the cure of the world, but doctor's themselves claim no cures, so we are in a world of choosing what is best for ourselves. Every one loves me to complain. That gives my husband power over me and makes it easier to destroy me. Then all he has to do is pat himself on the back talk every one into being rude. Point the finger you know; see go out and be rude. He is like a stalker, but he stalks by getting others to do his dirty work. He just has to speak a little and they all come out to insult his retard. Only I am not really retarded. Thank you for the advice.......

Then when we really have some freedom abusive people will be the ones to pay for crimes, not the victims. How to destroy your wife if she is F.L.D.S.

    4. tell them how stupid your wive is

  104. Anonymous 7:36,

I think you might have misunderstood me a bit. We love and accept my grandson just as he is. He is a bright, sweet, energetic little man. But in a classroom setting where he has to focus for any length of time AND he needs to make good social choices, he has a very hard time. His impulsive behavior was interfering with his ability to learn and he was making all of the other children hate him because he couldn't control his impulses. The low dosage of medication he takes (a form of Ritalin) made such a difference for him that his reading scores went from 4 to 16 in one week. Still, we don't want a medicated zombie for a child. We refused to increase his dosage. In fact, we're looking into decreasing what he takes even more. (It suppresses his appetite and he's too skinny already.) And we never give it to him if it isn't a school day. That's because, while we want him to have every advantage in his education (he really is a very bright boy), we also love and appreciate him just as he is. So for him the medication is something like reading glasses -- you use them when you need them and leave them alone when you don't. :D

I hope that matters continue well with you too. I can tell you have a lot of anger and resentment over hardships in your life, and that's perfectly natural. I found with my own anger and resentment that expressing them did more to ease those feelings than anything else. By that I mean, talk to someone you can trust, write in a journal, go online and post anonymously, whatever works for you and you feel comfortable with. You sound like you've come a long way. I know you can reach a personal peace one day.

I did not deserve what happened to me...........I am how-ever willing to let the Lord be the judge. Who is asking me questions? and why do you want to know?

    ReplyDelete
  119. Why should I not answer your questions. I am not and never have been some one who did break the laws. I have always done all I could to help people. I did not spend a lot of time with Val, until the last few years. I think you should all answer that question. Those that knew him the most.
I shall answer the question about me that all of you want to know. Most of the gossip is not true. It is weird how gossip can spring up. I wish there was a place that I never had to hear another bit of trash or creepy talk. If you are the kind of person who feels like you should be at liberty to throw filthy talk at me, keep it inside. I am a Christian. If you are filthy mouthed and break the laws please do not tell me about it. If any of you have family memebers who are abusing children put a stop to it. I live alone. I have spent my life protecting children. I have spent my life doing the right thing and being made fun of. It is not like what happened is a secret to anyone and the men who lie will always be found out sooner or later. what I was there when Val was on national telivision I did interupt. i was surprised he was speaking as he was. I did think he was a Christian too. He did make his own confession. Did he not. I did too. I shall confess again. For the world who hates me.......I was beat,....because I was disobedient, to my father and he wanted me in his bed. I never did give in. I never will. I never did. I never will. I never did I never will.....Then I met my cousin. I did tell him no too. He did throw me to the ground. I did scream at him and run home. I did tell him no for a year. Then gossip did catch up. I did hear I was pregnant. There was no chance of this.....and I was under age, when he married me. I tried to leave him so many times. I went to Salt Lake. I went to Hurricane. This man who was an army man did help me. He never touched me. He was kind. there was a lot of people who could have helped me if they had wanted too, but again gossip convicted me and kept me targeted. I did one day just bar my door so he could not come in. He was convicted in Colorado of crimes. He was the key witness that was used to take my children from me. there was six men involved. I did think Val came to help me. But did he? I was told so much by him all these things. I am not certian if it was all true or not. Just a lot of things in my head to tell him to shut up. Yet, I know the truth. Do not ask me about him. It is not like you all did not know what he was like. I live alone. I like to live alone. When I ask for help, I am afraid, because that is when I am hurt the most. Yet, a lot of people are kind to me. I am known as the retard. the things that make my stomic curl are thrown in my face every day. What difference does it make now. Every man has some one who will defend them. the grossest to the nicest. If I say what I know, I will be harrassed for telling the truth. If I do not, I shall be harrassed for the gossip. what difference does it make. My father was here until I was seventeen. WHY WAS HE NOT REPORTED AND CONVICTED BEFORE I WAS BORN?

Given the inhumane actions of Warren Jeffs, endorsed by the compliance and silence of the majority of the FLDS, I have no trouble believing that if people like you had the power you would make life a living hell for everyone in America. The only thing stopping you is not that you are good, kind, people but that you haven't the power base. Fortunately, you aren't ever likely to either.

Who can say they have never injured a person, or lost their temper, or done wrong in any way? That is the question? I know who is perfect......The one who was jailed.

    ReplyDelete
  135. If you believe that Warren Jeffs is a perfect human being, and wish to allude to it, then I think you should have the courage to state it, and not refer to him as "the one who was jailed", because by using such descriptive language, it is you who are hiding, meanwhile trying to gain the benefits of a standpoint.

    ReplyDelete
  136. " I know who is perfect......The one who was jailed."

If you are alluding to Warren Jeffs then I have to agree with Judith, be courageous enough to just say it. I will go further and say, if Warren Jeffs is your idea of perfection then spare me your God or your "perfection". He is a man who has devestated scores of lives. I do not gloat over the pain he is in now, but I cannot help but consider it some form of cosmic justice. The pain he has caused has, in part, come back to him. And I must also ask myself, why would a people who feel that none of us should judge another feel comfortable in declaring another human being "perfect"? That too is judgement, and no human can truly know another. What I do know is that perfection on this Earth is a myth.

    ReplyDelete
  137. Warren Jeffs is but one of many false prophets. He is one of the worst hypocrites alive in the US and he owes his defrauded followers one last great big declaration- an exhaustive list of his many debaucheries done against others in private, and the long, long list of wrongs to his followers done in front of the flds as a group. He's a complete fraud and needs to put whatever energy he has left into confessing his many sins openly to those still loyal to his wretched hide. That way, perhaps even just a few may get a clue, since they continue to be so incredibly blind when any of his victims give their accounts of his depravity, theft, etc. Perhaps we can say Warren really is perfect in some ways- perfectly disgraceful, perfectly hypocritical, perfectly dishonest, perfectly covetous of others' females and money (like Joseph Smith and Brigham Young) perfectly ridiculous in his many condemnations of others when he has such a shocking record of wretchedness himself that his followers know nothing about.

If you are speaking to me, please enlighten me as to who I have murdered?

Hating me, or anyone else, harms you more than the person you choose to hate. I am sorry that you indulge in such a negative emotion. Research shows that people who focus on anger, hate, feelings of victimization and so forth have far higher incidents of heart attacks, ulcers, rhuematoid arthritis and cancer, just to name a few negative side effects.

If Warren dies it is because he has chosen to die. His blood is on his own hands. The blood of Elissa's miscarried babies, however, is on his hands, as he made her try to get pregnant with a cousin and before she was grown enough to do so safely.

I am also sorry that Warren's life is so miserable right now. Even though he made many people miserable while he was in power, I don't believe two wrongs make a right. Being in solitary confinement 23 hours a day has to be hellish for him, and I feel pity for the pain he is in. I also recognize that he created this situation for himself. He chose to use the authority trusting people gave him to hurt and abuse. Maybe he didn't hurt and abuse you but he did hurt and abuse others. That is reality and hating those who see it will not change anything and will only make your body sick.

  148. A short story by Stamp

    ---------------------

In a small town, some folks from out of state moved in and well, kept to themselves. In town there was Alan the wedding cake baker.

Over the years, Alan bought on order sets of grooms and brides to adorn his cakes.

Well, some gay guys wanted a private ceremony and they needed two grooms. OOPS now he had too many brides.

But the next week, some lesbians came in and wanted two brides.

OK, now Alan was even. And the stream of "regular" marriages kept his inventory pretty much even over the months.

Now in walks one of the new strangers, Hyrum. "Ah'll take one Groom and 3 Brides" Hyrum drawls.

The baker accomodates him, but now his stock is out of whack. Over the next two months Alan has several more such requests and he is flat out of brides. So he orders more and can only get 4 sets of brides and grooms a week, and he cant just order brides.

So after a year goes by, he is astonished to find that he has 213 grooms in a drawer and he is flat out of brides to sell.

And then he begins to wonder. What happened to the other REAL 213 Grooms who didnt match up with those brides?

Where did THEY go to get cakes with brides?

The drawer of toy grooms stare up at him with 213 sets of hopeful eyes, laying there in disarray, as if waiting, knowing that they will end up in the trash can.

  150. "I heard that Elissa's "miscarries" were actually abortions to coverup her affairs with other men while she was married to Allen Steed."

Without proof your "I heard" is merely a vicious rumor -- about what I'd expect from a true blue decendent of good ol' Joe.

Also, a competent midwife would generally see signs of an attempt to induce abortion. Since it wasn't in Elissa's medical records I'm going to go by the facts.

Fact 1) It is risky for teen girls to get pregnant. The closer to 15 (and under) the greater the risk of many adverse outcomes, including miscarriage.

Fact 2) Allan was her cousin. Even if it was removed enough in relation to be legal, it is still a higher risk that they both carry lethal genetic mutations that can cause miscarriages.

Fact 3) The midwife who attended at least one of the miscarriages mentioned a history of extreme stress for Elissa. Stress is a prime cause of miscarriages too.

Fact 4) The people of the FLDS lie and they do so on a regular basis when it suits them. Since this undoubtedly came from the FLDS, it's probably a lie. I fact, that's what I "heard".

In other words, when she matured enough to make rational decisions she was able to carry a child to term. As I said, those miscarried babies' blood is on Warren's hands. There are good reasons why 14, 15, 16 year old girls should not be starting families. Those reasons are both physical AND mental. Warren ignored those, played God, and caused preventable deaths.

And after saying he has “First hand knowledge of the new Leadership” of the FLDS and not knowing or being able to say who it is?

I stand by my assertion that Rod Parker is the new leader, he is leading the flds around by the nose from lawsuit to lawsuit so it will fund his retirement!?

Wonder what plan Rod has for the FLDS to resolve their $5,000,000 IRS TAX LIEN BILL?

Or does he know about it? Will he acknowledge the problem or deny this too?

They are recorded for history and for God to see too.

Sorry to break the news to you, but not only is Warren NOT PERFECT he has been recorded and LIENED by the United States Government, and his FLDS for FIVE MILLION DOLLARS.

Someone has made the decision to side step him now, they are afraid to say, but effectively Warren is no longer the prophet and others are calling the shots.

This hasnt been a persecution, but a prosecution of heinous crimes, and the FLDS people CAN crawl out if they want - but nooooooo they seem to enjoy being in trouble, like a 15 year old boy.

    He did this to himself.

    This is from Romans 13:1-7

Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2 Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. 3 For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and he will commend you. 4 For he is God’s servant to do you good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword for nothing. He is God’s servant, an agent of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. 5 Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also because of conscience.

6 This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God’s servants, who give their full time to governing. 7 Give everyone what you owe him: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.

This passage makes it abundantly clear that we are to obey the government God places over us. God created government to establish order, punish evil, and promote justice (Genesis 9:6; 1 Corinthians 14:33; Romans 12:8). We are to obey the government in everything—paying taxes, obeying rules and laws, and showing respect. If we do not, we are ultimately showing disrespect towards God, for He is the One who placed that government over us. When the apostle Paul wrote to the Romans, he was under the government of Rome during the reign of Nero, perhaps the most evil of all the Roman emperors. Paul still recognized the Roman government’s rule over him. How can we do any less?

I guess that contradicts what I've heard and read on other blogs about flds people having free will. Is SOMEONE new calling the shots to shut them up? To keep them from getting info from the outside? A new prophet-puppet to lead the flock??? Fresh damage to be done to already damaged people?

The new "Prophet" would stay a secret for years or decades (until El Presidente Warren expires?) and they would become more extreme.

This news bolsters that, but its bad timing for Brooke as she is there attempting a "meet and greet" with the local FLDS folk.

I think she will get as big a response as Bill Mudpuppy did when he went to the UEP hearing, he flew all the way from FL to see his "freinds" and no one recognized him or would talk to him.

    (Stranger Danger LMAO)

Look - I've traveled through so Utah and had opportunities to talk to flds. Boy they keep it short and only if you corner them just right, and in a friendly way.

  177. Y'all read up on this? Brooke tried to defend the FLDS, but she actually showed how Warren stole 4.5 MILLION from UEP benie's to buy YFZ and other properties.

To find out what this is going to mean, its best to read this opinion:

    -------------------------

    THURSDAY, AUGUST 13, 2009

Will Wisan be able to bring the YFZ Ranch into the UEP Trust?

Brooke Adams, a well-respected journalist with the Salt Lake Tribune, recently blogged on Warren Jeffs and Apple Valley.

Adams has found dictations that show possible malfeasance on the part of the old UEP trustees. She quotes a dictation from Warren dated May 2004, where Warren said:

"And he indicated that we could get up to four and a half million dollars cash right away, which we would use to pay off the lands of refuge and to build the temple and the other buildings projects the Lord is having us do in the redemption of Zion."

This is very close to a smoking gun (not quite, I'll go into more detail in a bit). Basically, what Warren said is that they were taking trust funds (from the sale of land), removing it from the trust and using it to purchase the YFZ Ranch, which they were claiming was not part of the trust.

    Uh guys? That's illegal....

If Bruce Wisan can show that funds from the UEP trust was used to purchase the YFZ Ranch, then he can, as the Special Fiduciary, take over management of the YFZ Ranch. Also, since the only assets of the Texan Heritage 'common-law' trust appear to be assets derived from the UEP trust, he could conceivably control all of that too. (As a sidenote, in Texas, there is no such thing as a common-law trust, which brings into question the legallity of the Texan Heritage trust anyway.)

Now to the smoking gun part. With the dictations, that gives Wisan grounds to go after bank and financial records. Once he has those, if he can track the money from the UEP land sales and connect those funds with the YFZ purchase, he gets to bring the ranch under the trust and under his control.

  196. While so many have wrung their hands over the seperation of families during the rescue, there is another story to be told, and many here might be able to add to it.

Seems that when YFZ became inhabited, many families were split, leaving wives and children back at the creek.

Anyone know of other incidences of this?

Note also the abandoned children have the mothers last name Young, the children brought with to YFZ have dads.

(Does this have a bearing on welfare, and new laws requiring naming the father?)

    --------------

    From coramnonjudice.blogspot.com

    "Deb said...

Fathers Name: Edson P. Jessop, Jr
    Wife (Mother): Zavenda Young Jessop

Both have been on numerous National TV shows and newscasts and only claim the following children that they brought to YFZ:

Children of Zavenda brought to YFZ:

    Zachary Jessop - age 8
    Ephraim Jessop - age 6
    Russell Jessop - age 4
    Anne Jessop - age 2

Children of Zavenda left behind in SC and of course neither Zavenda or Edson EVER mention these children on all the shows they have done:

    Woodruff Young - age 18
    Shannon Young - age 16
    Brigham Young - age 15
    Joseph Young - age 13
    Merilyn Young - age 11
    Zavenda Young - age 9

Now of course it is entirely possible that they dumped the boys out in the desert on their way to YFZ and married the 9, 11 and 16 year old girls off to some 40 or 50 year old man.

Then here is also the other side, the 4 other wives and 34 other children that Edson left behind and doesn't claim on any of these shows.

Ive read enough about you Ruth to know, you are NO retard. I do believe you have been mistreated by those who were supposed to love you.
And I also believe you would never ever hurt a child! Your husband should be locked up for the way he treated you and what he did to your little girls.
Rulon or Warren should have seen that Richard was punished for what he did, and Sam Barlow should of been punished by Legal Authorities for what they did to you!!

  199. well, for one thing many family's in America are split up. so can you make new laws for all the parents out there? Sencond of all only People Like Richard Cooke, And Jack Cooke dump their children off and abandon them and do every thing they can to hurt them. and third off the survivor's of People Like Jack, Richard and All; for abusers have no particular to names......have left victim's who need fathers and familys.......then who would feel baddly if I was adopted into anothher persons family? And if a woman has children with one man and he leaves and abuses her, and marry's another, and has children, she will have children with two different names as mentioned. Nothing unusual here? And I shall have to see the names of the men charged. Some I have seen. Some I know not.......Ya' some abusers are caught. I seen a lot of men in jail. It is sad to see though. Why do they not just love each other. If they can not live together, why lot seperate in peace? I am sure if that man who took that womans car was really abusive, they would have caught him by now. They was settling it in court, and the woman was being protected. I guess that is good. I should have stayed and let them charge my abusers. He is cleaver though and knows how to intimidate......I do not like to see people suffer.
