The right to rule

President elect Obama's speech this morning had a good sound to it. However it has always amazed me how two men can use the same, or very similar, words and phrases, and mean two very different things. for the lovers of liberty, there is no substitute for a solid majority of individuals among the populace, who have developed the skills of personal freedom.
These are they who 's right it is to rule.

  1. THIS MAN SURE HAS A GOOD VIEW OF WHAT'S HAPPENING TO OUR COUNTRY!

Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance.
We know Your Word says, 'Woe to those who call evil good,' but that is exactly what we have done.
We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values.
We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery.
We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare.
We have killed our unborn and called it choice.
We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable.
We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self esteem.
We have abused power and called it politics.
We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition.
We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression. We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment.
Search us, Oh God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin and Set us free. Amen!

Satan himself sounds good to those who will listen. Just as Obama sounds good, doesn't mean he will lead this country in the right direction.
Oh he is charismatic okay, but when the rubber hits the road, the man has no experience, no experience in forgein affairs and USA is in for a long haul on this one.
It's the silver tongue devils that get us everytime.

  3. Many presidents had little to no experience in foreign affairs. Many had no military service experience. In today's world, having common sense,a sense of right and wrong, and a willingness to keep a level head, is a good start to clean up the mess made in the last 8 yrs. I've lived through enough wars in my short life. It would be a nice change to try a little peace, with vigilance, and prosperity for awhile.

That's not as worrisome as his political philosophy. he is the leader of the party that wants Government control in more and more of our everyday lives. this party appears to lean toward atheistic concepts, while the founders of our constitution, believed in an Omnipotent Creator. It seems logical to me,that if an Omnipotent Creator wanted to micro-manage our lives, He would have provided a more just system than having men, who are no more just and wise, than we ourselves are, micro-manage us in our lives. No I believe He wants us to develop the wisdom to manage our own lives.

Your father deceived your family, now you must rebuild with truth
and not repeat his mistakes. Use your Father's falsehoods to learn from, not to use as a crutch.

  16. Ya, why did you change the topic. Politics are stupid. If our government is going to betray all our people, why worry. Live as long as you live.

  17. "who's right it is too rule" is what Polygamy is all about.

  18. I have no idea what most of you anonymous posters are talking about. Sounds like an inside story of condolences and support, mixed with political animosity. That's fine I guess. Hope it works for you.

I wouldn't disagree with the statement <"who's right it is too rule" is what Polygamy is all about,> because it is a good perspective. But I don't see how that discussion topic is helpful when posters make such cryptic contributions that only a few can interpret them. Why not just limit the membership to those few people?

  19. About 500 FLDS members may be registered to vote in Schleicher county. I'm sure some will be disqualified, but if I understand it correctly, you can only disqualify a certain number of them.

If Texas gets into a disqualifying war with the FLDS they will probably lose. It only takes one juror that won't convict.

Analyzing it further, I suspect the FLDS will all willingly serve. I suspect the county at large may not wish to do so. They may be seating juries with two or three FLDS members on them.

If that happens, no one will be convicted, of anything.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I'm sure there will be someone on the jury, like yourself. There might be one on the jury, like me.

There may also be people on the jury who see that the FLDS are contributing to the relative prosperity of Schleicher county and people on the jury that figure they gotta live with them after it's all over.

It's not how you or I feel about it once a jury is impaneled, it's how they feel about it, and that's the point. It may very well be a couple of people get on each jury that will never vote to convict.

    Mistrial.

Do you think the citizens of Schleicher county are going to vote to spend all that money again, to get the same result or will they vote to acquit and stop the bleeding?
    Then

  21. Here's something for harley and Ron to get riled up about: How about all those 13 year old hookers in Dallas and other cities you hear about on the news. What a horrible culture you guys have out there in the real world, thinks the exasperrated FLDS man.

It's a dirty little secret: society's promiscuous juvenile girls. Biology makes some of them go into heat unavoidably. Some cultures deal with this problem by making them marry and have kids. And yes, sometimes things go wrong, like the case with Alissa Wall, perhaps mistakes were made, that the culture has to deal with, and learn from, perhaps with a little help rather than public witchhunts.

So Ron, why don't you fix up Houston before trying to fix up FLDS-vill.

  22. "The FLDS is a breakaway sect of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; the Mormon church renounced polygamy more than a century ago."

Brooke, I've wondered for some time now why every article has to have this disclaimer? I can just hear an article in the paper in ancient Babylon: "Daniel is a renegade breakaway of the Church which gave up praying to God and instead began praying to the statue that Nebuchadnezzar erected to gain popularity and converts from the people of Babylon."

Everybody already knows that 'the church' caved to the pressure of not being popular, why does every article have to say it? Is there some agreement with the Church to make sure that no one is confused and thinks they're not compromisers when really they are?!

    anonymous.
have you ever served on a jury? one of the first questions asked a prospective juror is do you know or are you acquainted with the defendant. all FLDS know one another, so they would never be seated on the jury.

  24. Considering there are close to 700 people at YFZ ranch, and almost 500 of them are children under the age of 18. There is no way FLDS could have 500 registered voters.
Many of those adults and children are still living off the ranch, in towns a couple of hundred or more miles away.

    uncaduff,
First Of all, the Constitution only mentions the word God once. The writer's of the constitution specifically said government could not endorse or start any state relgion.
Part of the constitution is the Jurist. The Supreme Court of the United States.
Barack Obama is after one thing in his presidency, socialism. I don't beleive the people of the United States will be so willing to go along with that agenda. I know I don't.
The United States is a Republic. And like it or not, The Supreme Court of the United States decides the laws of the land.

Im not sure any of FLDS would be able to serve on the jury. One of the questions they ask, is do you know this person, are you related to this person? That will disqualify you from serving on the jury.

  30. this is how one F.L.D. s member feels; I would never want to see the inside of a court room, for any reason, after knowing how dishonest the judicial system is. And I would never vote, because if i did I would be a liar, voting for a liar. but that is not how every one feels. Just me. the rest would take what they could with flattery. But do not take my word for it.

  31. The self appointed moral superiority of the anonymous perspective published at 10:55 PM would be amazing if it weren't so common and average, and not all "just me". Yes, "just me", there is evil in the world, that's in the nature of existence.
