  1. Is that a trick to reveal people's name who may not want to give their names?

    ReplyDelete
  2. No tricks. I would not be involved with something like that. That's why I specified adults. No one is asking that specific pictures be identified. Those who were booted have a genuine interest in their loved ones. Many people seem to have disappeared completely. Is it so wrong to wonder and care about them? Besides you can hardly claim those adults do not want their names and whereabouts hidden. They have been actively seeking media coverage for goodness sake! Or was that just a staged play on sympathy as many have alleged?

  5. Check for loved ones in photos on their newly published website:

    http://captivefldschildren.org/

Lots of photos and some videos taken by FLDS themselves documenting the raid from their perspective.

    Well-done in a short time, I'd say.

  6. I agree with blogger...
Please help I.D those adults. They are giving FALSE info. to authorities. WHY? They are thrying to hide crimes!!
Also, there are family members out there desperately looking for mothers, sisters, and daughters after they themselves have either been excommunicated or have ESCAPED. hey want to help other family members get the hell out of well, HELL!!

  8. 4/22/2008 12:46 PM-

If they wanted to leave they would leave, just like the people you are talking about.
What a freakin' oxymoron... Flora and Carolyn and their ilk saying the folks can't leave when they themselves are the proof that you can. Unbelievable!

    ReplyDelete
  9. I disagree with what you're saying Anon 4:14PM. Flora and Carolyn were told the world outside the FDLS is a bad place. They truly felt like there was no escape from FDLS until they took the actual step out the door to freedom. Even then, the road ahead was uncertain - where to go, what to do when you have no education? Not to mention I've heard there are camps for wayward wives who try to flee or are disobedient (can any FDLS or former FDLS verify that?).

  10. "I heard this" "I heard that" "There's an incinerator in the temple" blah blah blah. I don't care what you've heard a care about truth.

What about that incinerator in the temple? How come the Rangers haven't mentioned such a thing? Are the in cahoots with the plygs?

    You people make me sick.

  11. Sheriff Doran dispelled the rumors of incenerators and tunnels in his interview in the Eldorado Success. Read it here:

    www.myeldorado.net

  12. Let's calm down on the incinerator. If I had my way, the thousands of articles (and even wikipedia, the last I checked) all trace back to John Doughtery's article. Let's keep in mind that when I left the FLDS, I had no suspicion of an incinerator being used for an inappropriate purpose. The secrecy on the incinerator was rather casual; it was nowhere near as strict as for a simple rock cutting saw. If it was for something as dastardly as blood atonement, I doubt the secrecy would have been so casual.

At the time I left, I went through a stage where you easily believe every rumor you hear (and started to believed a few from Flora). It was at this time that rumors of an incinerator made it to my ears and I suddenly "blew a gasket" and figured that was probably the use of the furnace. There was also the incident of a funeral of an "unworthy" where Warren ordered Winston to have her cremated, but Winston had her interred instead. So, I may have added 2+2 and gotten -4.

As I mentioned elsewhere recently, they found an article on cyanide poisoning, and I wouldn't be surprised if cyanide, gold, and heat aren't a likely combination. Maybe that was why Mike didn't want an LCD display; maybe the chemical fumes weren't safe up close and he wanted to be at a distance. It's all speculation. If we are going to speculate, let's quit speculating so wild.

    Robert Richter

  13. I have no doubt that the information on cyanide was more of a WHMIS type safety material. I remember the use of a cyanide based pesticide in the Hildale grain and corn storage facilities back in 1968 - 69.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Oops, the sentence "If I had my way, the thousands of articles (and even wikipedia, the last I checked) all trace back to John Doughtery's article" should have stated that if I had my way they would all disappear from cyberspace.

  15. "They are giving FALSE info. to authorities. WHY? They are trying to hide crimes!!"
What kind of statement is that? Are you there? How do you know? What crimes? You sound a bit wild to me...since insiders are looking for insiders, they only have to call the right people, and I am sure they know how to reach them. They only have to ask. If some adults are missing, we can all guess what happened and nobody is going to tell you what happened but I am sure they are safe. Thank God. Hopefully some children got away too. Have you ever heard about the abusive Texas foster care system and about their Youth System where prostitution is rampant?

  16. I don’t believe that the parents are hiding something. If you are closed off for so long, you may not know how people outside of your residence are. I don't know if the people inside the FLDS compound are being persecuted for their religion or if there really is something criminal going on there. What ever comes of this, I feel very sorry for the children. All they know is what life was like on the compound and now they were ripped away from that lifestyle. I don't believe that CPS would allow for the children to practice their religious beliefs. I am not religious myself but I understand how a person might be very attached to their religion especially in a bad situation. I hope what ever happens, the children are well taken care of.

  17. That's good, anon 11:44, create more panic. There's not enough of that going around.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I have been reading this trying to get both prospectives. I just looked at your captivefldschildren.org web site.

Everyone seems to point this out to being a religious thing and its not. If everyone were educated (women) at these camps, and had options AND knowbody married until the age of 18 there would be NO issues here.

Even the Amish give their children the option to roam from the ages of 16 to early 20's before they are asked to choose a life of their religious lifestyle! and they are not abonded by there family if they choose not to practice the family religion BUT only if they choose the religion, are baptised then late choose to leave.

Why arent your members given this option and able to do this, educated as adults before marrying and having children?

The only reason that I can see why they are not given this choice is because the camps are being run by adult male pedophiles that are using religion as a block to crush the spirits and will of these women from birth to 14, then after that impregnant them so they cant leave because they dont want to leave their children!

    real slick guys.

  19. Joseph,

Did you get through all the different headings here, or did you just come in here to spout your wisdom post haste? Everybody is given a choice, everyone has the right, Carolyn Jessop herself could leave when she wanted, but that doesn't sound near as salicious does it. The fact of the matter is she didn't escape in the middle of the night, she went to a dentist appointment and took all her children with here, she left in broad daylight. Just one of the fallacies that aught to be brought to light, your welcome to use your feminized brain to conjure up whatever you'd like about a group of people, just remember, just cause you said it doesn't in any way make it true.

  20. Is it just me or are the post on this blog getting increasingly angry day by day? The fact is, even if someone has been doing internet research galore since this story broke, that doesn't make them an expert on this or even fully informed. I don't think there is anyone who can say they have a COMPLETE understanding of ALL the facts and viewpoints of BOTH sides, in all their complexity.

I think it's great that there are resources (such as this blog) for people (like myself) to gain information on the situation and form their *opinions* about the matter, but when it degenerates into anger and namecalling and such it quits being very informative.

    Just my thoughts

  25. Yes, this discussion is getting angry as it goes on because the abuses against the FLDS people keep getting worse. Now the honorless Judge Walther has decided to seperate mothers from their breastfeeding children and won't let them pray privately w/o an LDS informant, er, watchman (which the LDS declined to do). As long as this travesty continues the flames of anger will enlarge into a full fledge forest fire. But it is not the rage of the persecuted that you should worry about, but the anger of a righteous God towards those that fight against His laws. Watch and be ready the Lord will soon make bare His holy arm in defense of His people.

  26. This thread was supposed to be for the search of loved ones...some of us wonder where the Canadian girls are? I heard that Susie Blackmore was in South Dakota, it will pain her poor mother if she again goes missing.
I beleive in FREEDOM FROM RELIGION.

    ReplyDelete
  27. This should probably be a new thread, but... A major issue is whether or not those in the FLDS have freedom of choice and are free to leave. From those concerned about this what would be an acceptable way to insure that all within the FLDS have freedom of choice and freedom to leave? From an FLDS standpoint what would be acceptable without trampling on freedom of religion?

If once a year all of those 12 and over are required to attend a 1 or 2 day class covering these issues taught by someone from CPS and someone from Flora's org? If as part of this they are also given an opportunity to communicate to CPS or Flora that would like to leave?

    Other ideas?

Second is a three year old boy who died in an INVESIGATED car accident.

  33. I have been reading all the responses and everyones outrage at my bitterness and what not. I just want you all to know, I grew up in an awesome place, and I can honestly say I would never change the way I grew up. I was loved and so were all my brothers and sisters. We had a future, something to look forward to. Now my point. These children are living in a totally different world that you or I or anyone can even imagine. They have no future. They are not afforded the same recreation, love, education, social life that we grew up with. Anyone who lived in CC, or Salt Lake in the FLDS religion in the last five to eight years knows that when Warren started taking over, things started changing pretty damn fast. I saw with my own eyes 4 different 14 year old girls that got married, and they didn't want to get married. Only one of those girls was married to a man under thirty. For any of you who have children, how would you feel if it was your little girls? I saw countless men's lives ruined overnight for nothing. Just to remove competition. For those of you who live in fairy tale land, and refuse to open your eyes and see the abuses that are happening every day, just be honest with yourselves, and you will see that what I am saying is true.

And if you aren't outraged at the abuse these women and children have been subjected to, then I feel sorry for your kids and wife

Now for my second point. I have read and heard so many people say they feel so sorry for the parents of these children. I do not feel one bit sorry for the mothers or the fathers of these children. I do feel sorry for the children. They are the innocent victims in this whole thing. But the way that those parents are feeling right now is the exact same way my father, and so many others like him, have felt when Warren ripped his family out from under him. I saw how it devestated him, and it literally just about killed him. You ask, "What right does the state have to take all these children away from these parents?" But I ask, "What right did Warren, Wendell, and Merrill have to take the wives and children of the hundreds and hundreds of men that they removed?" All I am saying is, lets get some stability into these kids lives.

Let them grow up without having two or three different fathers

These are just a few of my opinions. Sorry, but I am not going to back down on this issue. If you don't have the gumption to stand up for what you believe in, then you will fall for anything.

The rest of you all need to stop posting your comments in this area and post instead in a more appropriate area for your soap box speeches about the rightness or wrongness of the FLDS religion and such. Be respectful of this space and the needs of the people who need it.

Hey blog author, why are you allowing these people to post unrelated comments here? 46. On the Bishop's LIst, some of the 4 and 5 month old babies have no names.... I can not imagine not naming my children... maybe not for a few days.... I can see taking a few days to decide on the right name for the child... but not for 4 or 5 months.

I am trying very hard to understand these people and to form an objective opinion about this situation... yet... It is hard to believe that a father who lists his 4 month old daughter or his 5 month old son as Baby Girl or Baby Boy... cherishes and treasures that child....

On the continuum of emotional neglect or abuse.... where does failing to give a child a name score?

where does it say, if we don't give a child a name before a year, we don't love that child?

  50. I have toyed with the idea of not giving my children an official name until they were five to eight, then Id call them what they were mostly.

    Like dances with wolves.

How would this be abuse or lack of love? Its simply waiting for the child to manifest itself,a and then call it who it is, rather than go on my own ego trip naming the child after all its fore bears.
