FLDS Prophet Warren Jeffs may be serving life in prison, but his followers continue with their work on the YFZ Ranch near Eldorado, Texas where the group's white limestone Temple towers over the town they are building. Polygamy, the practice of plural marriage, appears to be alive and well in the Lone Star State, despite laws to the contrary.

Party at Cottonwood Park
Who on the blog was at the Easter party on Saturday? I was so thrilled to see so many people coming together. I saw people with many different "looks" and lives coming back to their roots and moving toward having a community again. Who organized it. It was awesome, with tons of food, games for the kids and reuniting with old friends.I also saw some guys shooting photos? Were you there Jax? Keep the positive stuff coming

bro B
I think the term is ex-creekers!
Please,Let's stop referring to former Flds in C.C. area as Warrenites, the Warrenites now live in Eldorado,Pringle
etc.
Well, I did not go, but it's certainly nice to hear of people gathering together on the holidays again.
I was not there, but I'd love to come to something like that. E-mail me next time at nvpolyg@gmail.com
Who put the party together at Cottonwood Park? Was anyone that is for Warren there??
It is not ex-creekers its the Re-Creekers! We had a blast!!! There were tons of people there, and I dont think a one of them was followers of Warren. But if they wanted to come they would be welcome. They have not broke out of their shell yet, but hang on cuz it is comming!
Hearing about a party at cottonwood park makes me homesick. I am glad you had a good time. Keep up the good work. I look forward to the day we can all go down the road together.

I just happened to be in town to visit relatives. When I saw the party at the park, I just dropped by. I was really happy I did. My FLDS relatives, however, changed the subject when I told them about it.
Does anyone know who Parley Jeffs Dutson is? He shot a girl. See the article on the childbrides.org site under current events.
Hes Bynal Dutsons son, I cant remember what his mom's name is, sorry.
Anon 11:14 and Anon 8:53-
They were discussing what happened with Parley Dutson on the 'Number of Dogs in Town' thread. Your questions will be answered there. Just scroll up a bit. :)
Thankx bbgae, I had not heard anything about that. It is such a sad story. My warmest condoulances to the family of the girl.

There were about 700 people from all over...Apple Valley, Colorado City/Hildale, Centennial, and Cane beds....Plus a few other places and people...
We had the BEST time..They opened up the zoo, made the whole place kid friendly. The egg hunt was great too. Barbque chicken to die for!! and thank you everyone for helping with the side dishes and the great company. Hope to see you again next Easter
any plans for the 24th? that was the big one in our day.

Our day was long,long a go,duff.
Not THAT long ago, because I remember the 24th being the biggest holiday, too, until Uncle Rulon invented Harvest Fest. Then that was the biggest holiday, because it lasted for three days.
BB,You are young enough to be my granddaughter,I meant that Duff's and my day was long, long ago.1930s-1980s.
Ye, I know. But it didn't change much between then and the '90's. And I can remember as far back as 1983.
That was a 'yes.'
ya, BB, I moved to the crick in feb. 1945, I got my graduation papers in aug. 1983, was out by sept.30.same year.
by the way, the academy always sponsored a harvest ball every fall after spud harvest.I guess your harvest fest was something different.

Were there any animals in the zoo? I heard they were all gone.
god does not exist.
Anon:9:46 pm. "The Fool sayeth in his heart, there is no God"

The fool sayeth in his heart, there is no God.
Is that a quote from somewhere? The Bible? I would like the reference if it is, please. :) Yes, I really would like to know where it came from.
Psalms 14:1
the zoo is open...The animals in it are from people around the area...the new rule is, if you bring the animal in to display it, then you get to take care of it as well...pretty easy huh
It is so nice to hear that there are animals in the zoo again.
I was looking out my front door yesterday when I noticed a small truck with a dog that took up the WHOLE back of the truck (it was a St Bernard). Late at night I can hear dogs barking all around me now. Who gave the order? or are the people just so tired of being wound up so tight they can't move.
so... with this thread, are we suggesting that perhaps the crick has gone to the dogs?(:>
