From KSL News today:
"On Tuesday, during a hearing regarding the property trust, it was revealed that Jeffs had issued a new edict to his followers: "Do not sign your name to any document for property that has already been consecrated to God." Jeffs was not at the hearing.
This latest proclamation could complicate plans to reform the 110-million dollar United Effort Plan Trust. A judge is just days away from approving a historic change to the trust by signing a proposed reform plan that would create individual property owners.
Non-FLDS members would likely be the first to receive property, and FLDS member who don't sign the papers would live under a homeowners association. "
(emphasis mine)
Does this represent a NEW edict? Wasn't this something Warren decreed before he was captured?
ReplyDeleteJust wondering... trying to understand the media and whether they're giving us "new" news or just recycling the "old."
The SL Trib has a more in-depth story here.
If Warren was removed for not defending the assets of the trust, why can Wisan now break it up into individual deeds?
ReplyDeleteThere is no such thing as a FREE bishop or FREE overseer. I want the responsibility of taking care of my own deed. Look at the price that is to be paid for letting WJ get ahold of the control. The price of a fidiciary is alot less than WJ, but it is still $$.
ReplyDeleteAnd by the way...individual deeds to those who put in and built into their house and community is a BIG DIFFERENCE than selling consecrated land for a profit and taking the money and running.
ReplyDeleteThe UEP only protected the assets of current members, not members who had put an investment of time/effort/monies.
ReplyDeleteHad they properly compensated those who were asked to leave - there probably would not be an issue today.
If the land does not 'belong' to an individual, then the land should be on short term leases, something that lets both the UEP AND the homeowner know what the expectations are. And also allows for sale of their investment (home) back to the UEP if they are asked to leave.
Is it a sacred ordinance to buy a Porsche and other luxury vehicles while other people are having a rought time supporting their family?
ReplyDeleteThere are also unjust enrichment laws on the book, too.
ReplyDeleteWarren Jeffs never put a dime into the UEP, never lifted a finger to help on any projects. His house was given to him on a silver platter. His biggest investment was his "Blessing" over the workers.
ReplyDeleteWJ lost his priesthood just by riding in a red suv. After all his father said "anyone that would by a red sports car would rape his own daughters."
Warren is greedy and egotistical. He cares only about himself and his own comforts.
ReplyDeleteWarren does not care about his followers unless they are paying to support his lavish and luxerious lifestyle.
Warren is a thief who is stealing from the brethren for his own gain. He does not love you. He does not care about you, except for what you will give to him. When you will or can't give anymore to him, he will smite you.
Warren is a pig!
Anon 1:03 Have you got a tape of Rulan Jeffs talk you are quoting from? That would be interesting to hear.
ReplyDeleteanon 9:52
ReplyDeleteI don't see an anon 1:03 post

atar_i it should of read 10:03 post.
I suppose we can all thank God that warren wasn't riding in a 'Probe' or a 'Ram' by that rationale street.
ReplyDeleteBut a Bentley 'Silver Ghost' might have been a nice one.
The Daihatsu 'Naked' might have made a great photo, and the Mitsubishi Delica 'Space Gear' would be a close second.
But I think, my all time favorite car would have to be the Toyota 'Deliboy' or the Volugrafo 'Bimbo' as they truly reflect his educational and personal experience.
We'll need to find out the keys to the other cars so we can see the spiritual significance of the car names (per streets rationale). Better cross your fingers street.
OTS, I don't believe even your messed up mind believes the Escalade was to escalate him. He ripped the FLDS off. And will until people begin to stand up for themselves. Why don't you help those people do something good for themselves rather than waste your time putting nonsense on this blog? Why not use your time and do something useful. After your above statement about the Escalade, I do truly believe now that you just are here to get people riled up. If you're such a good person and are trying tostsand up for what you believe in, start doing something useful and good with your time.
ReplyDeleteamen 10:31, amen
ReplyDeleteperfect!
So, when Warren was riding in a Leer jet, does that mean his mind was "learing at women?"
ReplyDeletehyah - a Leer jet!
ReplyDelete1. to look with a sideways or oblique glance, esp. suggestive of lascivious interest or sly and malicious intention.
2. a lascivious or sly look.
Lascivious means inclined to lustfulness, wanton, lewd, arousing sexual desire, and indicating sexual interest.
AND Escalade actually means (not just sounds like) but actually means.
1. a scaling or mounting by means of ladders, esp. in an assault upon a fortified place.
2. to mount, pass, or enter by means of ladders.
Leering and Mounting s'much as I can figer it - don't sound so spiritual to me.
I'm the 10:31 poster and OTS I still think you know better. Anything anyone says you turn it around. This can only be done by someone that just wants to rile everyone up. I'll state again that you really should use your time more wisely. It's obvious you are here just to get people going. Really, go use your time to help some people. Quit posting crap that even you don't believe in. I know you're a little off your rocker, but even you know better. Warren is taking money from the FLDS for his own happiness. To have what HE wants. The finest in cars, even if it's red and against what he preaches. Why wouldn't he be in a more modest car. There are plenty of other cars that can do the job. And aside from the car, I don't understand the choice of clothing still that him and his wife were wearing. Even if he didn't want his wife to stick out like a sore thumb in her 1800's garb, she could have still worn a long sleeved t-shirt and some pants. NOT SHORTS!!! Same with Warren. Please, do everyone a favor and quit wasting your time and our time. HELP someone. HELP someone that doesn't know better. Give your time and energy to those around you that really need something GOOD to believe in.
ReplyDeleteFound this stark comparison of Mormonism to Islam.
ReplyDeleteDo not know the author.
It is a reprint.
In the heat of the Missouri "Mormon War" of 1838, Joseph Smith made the following claim:
"I will be to this generation a second Mohammed, whose motto in treating for peace was 'the Alcoran [Koran] or the Sword.' So shall it eventually be with us'Joseph Smith or the Sword!' "
It is most interesting that a self-proclaimed Christian prophet would liken himself to Mohammed, the founder of Islam. His own comparison invites us to take a closer look as well. And when we do, we find some striking and troubling parallels. Consider the following.
Mohammed and Joseph Smith both had humble beginnings. Neither had formal religious connections or upbringing, and both were relatively uneducated. Both founded new religions by creating their own scriptures. In fact, followers of both prophets claim these scriptures are miracles since their authors were the most simple and uneducated of men.
Both prophets claims of having angelic visitations and of receiving divine revelation to restore pure religion to the earth again. Mohammed was told that both Jews and Christians had long since corrupted their scriptures and religion. In like manner, Joseph Smith was told that all of Christianity had become corrupt, and that consequently the Bible itself was no longer reliable. In both cases, this corruption required a complete restoration of both scripture and religion. Nothing which preceded either prophet could be relied upon any longer. Both prophets claim they were used of God to restore eternal truths which once existed on earth, but had been lost due to human corruption.
Both prophets created new scripture which borrowed heavily from the Bible, but with a substantially new "spin." In his Koran, Mohammed appropriates a number of Biblical themes and characters&emdash;but he changes the complete sense of many passages, claiming to "correct" the Bible. In so doing he changes many doctrines, introducing his own in their place. In like manner, Joseph Smith created The Book of Mormon, much of which is plagiarized directly from the King James Bible. Interestingly, claims that this same Bible has been substantially corrupted and is therefore unreliable. In addition, Joseph Smith went so far as to actually create his own version of the Bible itself, the "Inspired Version," in which he both adds and deletes significant portions of text, claiming he is "correcting" it. In so doing he also changes many doctrines, introducing his own in their place.
As a part of their new scriptural "spin," both prophets saw themselves as prophesied in scripture, and both saw themselves as a continuation of a long line of Biblical prophets. Mohammed saw himself as a continuation of the ministry of Moses and Jesus. Joseph Smith saw himself as a successor to Enoch, Melchizedek, Joseph and Moses. Joseph Smith actually wrote himself into his own version of the Bible&emdash;by name.
Both prophets held up their own scripture as superior to the Bible. Mohammed claimed that the Koran was a perfect copy of the original which was in heaven. The Koran is therefore held to be absolutely perfect, far superior to the Bible and superceding it. In like manner, Joseph Smith also made the following claim. "I told the Brethren that The Book of Mormon was the most correct of any book on earth, and the keystone of our religion, and a man would get nearer to God by abiding its precepts, than by any other book."
Despite their claim that the Bible was corrupt, both prophets admonished their followers to adhere to its teachings. An obvious contradiction, this led to selective acceptance of some portions and wholesale rejection of others. As a result, the Bible is accepted by both groups of followers only to the extent that it agrees with their prophet's own superior revelation.
Both Mohammed and Joseph Smith taught that true salvation was to be found only in their respective religions. Those who would not accept their message were considered "infidels," pagans or Gentiles. In so doing, both prophets became the enemy of genuine Christianity, and have led many people away from the Christ of the Bible.
Both prophets encountered fierce opposition to their new religions and had to flee from town to town because of threats on their lives. Both retaliated to this opposition by forming their own militias. Both ultimately set up their own towns as model societies.
Both Mohammed and Joseph Smith left unclear instructions about their successors. The majority of Mohammed's followers, Sunni Muslims, believe they were to elect their new leader, whereas the minority, Shiite Muslims, believe Mohammed's son was to be their next leader. Similarly, the majority of Joseph Smith's followers, Mormons, believed their next prophet should have been the existing leader of their quorum of twelve apostles, whereas the minority, RLDS, believed Joseph Smith's own son should have been their next prophet. Differences on this issue, and many others, have created substantial tension between these rival groups of each prophet.
Mohammed taught that Jesus was just another of a long line of human prophets, of which he was the last. He taught that he was superior to Christ and superceded Him. In comparison, as we have just quoted a few paragraphs above, Joseph Smith made this following claim.
"I have more to boast of than ever any man had. I am the only man that has ever been able to keep a whole church together since the days of Adam. A large majority of the whole have stood by me. Neither Paul, John, Peter, nor Jesus ever did it. I boast that no man ever did such a work as I. The followers of Jesus ran away from Him, but the Latter-day Saints never ran away from me yet."
In light of these parallels, perhaps Joseph Smith's claim to be a second Mohammed unwittingly became his most genuine prophecy of all.
And they worshiped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshiped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?
ReplyDeleteAnd there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.
And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against GOD, to blaspheme HIS name, and HIS tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
And he shall speak great words against the most HIGH and shall wear out the saints of the most HIGH, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given unto his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.
But the judgement shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end.
Exerpts from:
Revelation Chapter 13
Daniel Chapter 8
King James Bible
Descriptions of the self acclaim of both Mohammed and Joseph Smith easily fit into these prophesies.
Neither are 'the' antichrist, both are antichrists.
street, your up late, your cognitive powers are obviously stressed, get some sleep!
ReplyDeleteBluebeard.
Actually, street is onto something with that comment, and true to his devil's advocate approach, has got me to post a reply. I though I was done replying to him.
ReplyDeleteI have heard FLDS workers comment "There is no rest for the wicked and the righteous don't need it". Or "Uncle Roy got by with only five hours of sleep a night, and we are going to have to do better."
I was relayed a message from Warren (notice how it's often a relayed message) that "Those that work in the camp of Zion will work twenty hour days and pray for strength to work more. Sleep is a tradition we have got to get out of our system."
Wow, sounds like they have the same attitude towards food and sleep - 'less is more'
ReplyDeleteWish they had the same attitude about wives and babies.
I'm not the LORD. Come to think of it, neither are you OTS. I know that you find that prospect very disapointing. Oh well, the truth of that statement will come to you bye and bye.
