We had free helicopter rides, train rides, four wheeler rides, horse and buggy rides, greased pig chase, fun and games.
We have the power to close the stores and stations and restaurants. It's awesome. All we have to do is have a party. Next time we will party for a week and see if they keep the store closed. :)
Did the stores get closed because the faithful were in attendence at the Harvest Festival, or because they didn't want to be around those that would celebrate?
ReplyDeleteEven the federally funded airport was "closed" as far as fueling the helicopter.
ReplyDeleteThe FBO is NOT federally funded. gd it. It is a private entity
ReplyDeleteThe airport does receive federal funds. Why are you saying it does not?
ReplyDeleteSo, is Westwing Aviation the private entity? Are they the ones responsible for fueling aircraft? Is the federal funds only for the airstrip?
ReplyDeleteThe airport fueling system should have a card reader for credit cards.
ReplyDeleteFederal Funds are used to build a airport, plus matching grants provided by the local government.
The day to day operations should be funded and operated by the county or the city government.
Maybe the chopper could not use the fuel provided at this airport.
Some airports do not offer jet fuel.
Oh, it has jet fuel. Joe Knudson fuels his little jet up there all the time.
ReplyDeleteExactly. Westwing Aviation is a business just like CMC. If they decide not to be open on a certain day....they can do whatever they want. It is in no way connected to federal funds. The airport was built largely on federal funds but the airport is seperate financially from any business that makes it's address there.

ReplyDeletehi how you doing??
ReplyDeleteI heard some kids vandalized the new monument and the railroad car.

There were over 500 people at the festival, I didn't see any Canadians, but they are always welcome. It was advertized by word of mouth, next time we will advertise more. Just plan on it the middle weekend in October next year. As always booths/games anyone that wants to set up...are welcome.
