FLDS and Fundamentalists and Polygamy

Mormon Fundamentalists believe in the original doctrine. This question seems to come up all the time. They believe in the original doctrine as set fourth by Joseph Smith including polygamy. Since then, about 200 years have past and the LDS have tried their best to change the original doctrine. They have had many Prophets over this period of years. Some where the real thing and others like today were charlatans. The FLDS and other fundamental Mormon sects and denominations find the changes made to the original doctrine to be an abomination and a covenant with death itself.
that's why there are so many sects and denominations to the Mormon Church. And the list is growing and growing all the time.

Making The Jump

There are members of the LDS religion who are sympathetic to the FLDS and other fundamental Mormon groups. There are many people who have been in the leadership positions at the LDS Church and have a good knowledge of why fundamental Mormon polygamous groups get started. There is, without doubt, a group of practicing LDS Mormons who would make the jump to fundamental Polygamous Mormon Doctrine and are sick and tired of what they have been getting from the LDS leadership. When someone comes along who can pull this support together your going to see a split in the LDS Mormon church. Right now there is no where to jump to. But when there is, there will be those moving any from the LDS church.

BANKING ON HEAVEN

I don't think the people who made this show have any really good idea of how polygamy works at all. To take Colorado City and make it the prime example of how it works is a disservice to all the other families out there. I think its more of just the same old media bias at work. Its very difficult for someone not involved in it , to understand. You people who made this movie have no real idea of polygamous life or will you probably ever. The stereo types and ones shown on TV are only the ones having problems. Not those for whom this has worked and is still working.

I'm not surprised that FLDS people don't like the idea of a film that shows what is really going on in Colorado City. The whole point of "BANKING ON HEAVEN" is to shed light on the psychological & physical abuses being inflicted on thousands of innocent people. And to put the spotlight of government officials and others who have refused to acknowledge their responsibility to help.

Another purpose of the film is to raise money to implement a non-profit agency that will provide safe & legal transition services. A substantial percent of DVD sales will go to the non-profit.

"BANKING ON HEAVEN" Documentary

I'm the director of the new doc, "BANKING ON HEAVEN". To give you folks a little background, my producer & I began the film a little over 3 years ago and have just finished the final edit. The DVD should be available in 2 weeks at bankingonheaven.com.

When we bagan filming in Colorado City & Hildale, there was no other media coverage (that I know of) other than John Dougherty & Mike Watkis. The walls there weren't up yet, so we got a lot of footage and interviews that are entirely impossible today. We also attracted local police and goons who did everything possible to intimidate us and run us off. Sometimes, when the threats were serious, they did run us off, but they never intimidated us, other that the usual nausea, vomiting and nightmares (joke).

I've enjoyed reading your posts, and hope to become a participating member of this thread.

What are warren Jeffs weaknesses and strengths

I wonder what warrens weaknesses are?

Examples: An inability to take correction, an highly overestimated opinion of ourselves, the inability to complete a task, a nagging insecurity, procrastination, inability to work hard, being judgemental, critizing, not listening, addictions to food, TV etc etc.

Don't write 'warren is crazy, he kicked me out for watching tv', say something like, 'warren is very judgemental, and hypocritcal, he kicked me out for watching TV, but he watches his all the time'.

I also wonder what some of his strengths are?

I don't want to hear 'what he did' I want to hear the strength that allowed him to do it. Don't say 'he built a barn in one weekend' say 'he's a hard worker'.

FLDS and LDS and Polygamy

What makes a religion grow and become strong?? What are the differences between WJ and Gordon B. Hinckleberry?? What are the differences between LDS and FLDS??

Well for one thing it is NOT the following of religious doctrine. Both churches make that a laughable matter. Only the most gulible can believe their doctrine. Of which there are plenty who do in both groups. Both groups are way off from where the religon came from and taught.

What makes the difference is the pratical business methods the LDS use, daily. They are very adept at making their religion a very successful business.

And the FLDS while having some good leadership in the past are now falling into the cultish waters of instability and poor business decisions. Poor business decisions and religious decisions that turn the members against each other. Any leader who tells you your going to be beamed up to heaven in a short time is on the brink of mental instability.

This is really not about religion or polygamy as many of you seem to think it is. This is really more about how a business is run than anything to do with religion or polygamy.

Our neighbors are finishing new home and rock wall around meeting house. We were told that the land around it was designated holy ground and off limits to outsiders. New pad for equipment has been created directly south of the temple. Staircase has been added to the dairy. No noticeable increase in population. There seems to be an increase in equipment though. There is a new silo by the chicken coop. All is calm at the FLDS in Eldorado. Photos are yours to enjoy…

Warren Jeffs Worth A Large Reward ???

Well WJ may have a reward on him, however this guy is nothing but a small time pervert at best. Certainly not a top 10 criminal in the least. Only a religious fanatic who has gone over the edge.
He tried to keep doing business like they used to in the creek, times are a changing and he didn't see it coming. And it ran him over. Women in the creek simply won't put up with the nonsense any longer. He started making trouble with his own congregation and now they may just as soon turn him in. He has made alot of large mistakes and is paying for them now. He would appear to be a true religious fanatic.


This is more of a witch hunt than anything else. A lot to do about very little. Certainly not worthy of national coverage. The media needs a religious fanatic to cover so he got elected.

Bikers in Colorado City

I saw a bit on KCSG tv St George, that B.A.C.A (bikers against child abuse)had over a hundred bikers go thru Colorado City last weekend. Did anyone talk to them, or did any of the faithful think the end was there?

SALT LAKE CITY FBI director Robert Mueller will be in Salt Lake City tomorrow. His visit is part of a nationwide tour of FBI field offices. FBI agents say Mueller’s visit is not specific to any event, but it’s an opportunity for him to get a feel for what’s going on. The FBI’s Salt Lake office is one of the main offices involved in the manhunt for fugitive polygamist leader Warren Jeffs. He’s on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted list. Mueller has not been to the Salt Lake office since the 2002 Olympic Winter Games, four years ago. The Salt Lake office covers Utah, Idaho and Montana.

Where Did Polygamy Come From?????

It seems everyone is pointing their finger at the FLDS. Polygamy did'nt come from there, it came from the LDS Church run by Gordon B. Huckleberry. And the LDS Church is still a polygamous church. Although most of the members are not told that... Revenue and cash flow is the reason.

The statistics for sexual abuse across the US is 50% (abused before adulthood). We as a community used to be immune to it, now with Warren Jeffs help, I'm sure it is average. Nobody likes to talk about things they HOPE are not happening or hope never will happen, but this is REALITY.

Couldn't the UEP trust get a court order against Lyle Jeffs or anyone else in the FLDS from trying to kick people out of their homes in CC?? That would seem like the thing to do.
