Is Preparation for disaster still important?
For as long as I can remember it was a tenet of our religion to be prepared to feed our families for an extended time without importing any food into the community. I have heard rumors that all the community food stocks have been moved to YFZ. Can anyone verify this? In light of the recent disasters and the constant terrorist threat that exists I wonder if the "lifting up" and "yearning for Zion" has taken precedence to preparation.

I think the grain silos have been apart of CC as far as I can remember.

I had a years supply of food for Y2K. Sure am grateful for it. We would have starved many times over the last three years. Starting over with nothing takes alot of faith and food storage.

ReplyDeleteI heard a rumor that the grain bins had been emptied and sent to Texas. Also there was a lot of food storage in a cavern behind U. Freds house. I heard all that was sent south too. I am not in a position to check it out personally. I thought maybe someone from CC could verify it.

ReplyDeleteAm I to understand from Anon 5:18 and Street that warren is teaching preparation on a temperal level (food, housing, etc.) is no longer a concern? If so I think it is the result of years of welfare mentality. It also denotes another huge change in the teachings.
ReplyDeleteThe Lord will help those who help themselves. If we have the chance to get prepared and we do not take it, we cannot depend on God to bail us out. In his mercy he may do it for us but we have not bound him to the blessing by doing our part.
Well the Texas Warrenites are storing for the future for sure. Bolts of cloth, mounds of toilet paper and paper towels, large garden and orchard.
ReplyDeleteWarren is not depending on the goodness of God to protect him, just the many thousand of dollars of goods and people it purchases. Guess Warren sees the dollars as God's blessing. Go figure.

ReplyDeleteFor the rest of us, we are working our buts off trying to get enough food to eat and gas to get to the next job.
As for gossip, it it what keeps us connected and keeps the checks and balances. WJ greatest weapon is secretcy. And if more people were talking, communicating there would be more problems solved.
So, as long as Street is talking we know that s/he is making progress. Is not starving to death or sleeping in his car.
