Who is James A? And where do you get the info that he tried to commit suicide?

James Allred is David Allred's father.

What was the method he used? And how is he doing? And where is he now? Anyone know?

did he or did he not commit suicide? is there a story in a paper behind this? his childern have been a little unstable in the mind, but i didn't think he was. two of his children that i know of have had complete nervous breakdowns, but that runs in his wife's line, not his.

Attempt...did not die.

Well, I guess Jim Allred stint in jail was not good enough for the prophet.

James Allred was sent to jail after he refused to testify in the grand jury proceedings in Arizona.

While the proceedings were kept secret, Allred was released shortly after Warren was caught so one can guess what the hearings were about.

Bear in mind that the Prophet does what the Lord requires of him, without question or hesitation. Oft times even He does not know the outcome or results.

But We as a People know that GOD AND THE PROPHET DO RIGHT!!

And the day will come when all will be set right again.

This I live for as well as my fellow Brothern and Sisters that hold on to the Truth.

Each person MUST stand on their own testmony, and these events that we are going through is bringing that condition about in the lives of each FLDS Member.

Well, if God and the Prophet do right, then when something isn't right, it obviously wasn't God's prophet who did it.

Anon. 4:12

who are you to judge that what we are going through is not right?

Only those who are going thorugh it have that privilege.

If God can't give me better evidence than Olypics that happened when we were told they wouldn't; two prophets that were to be immortal that proved to me just as mortal as all other humans; and goes pimping mens wives around to other men, I think I have a right to judge that something isn't right.

8:12 It's interesting that you said that. Wouldn't someone who was going through it (and left) have the right to judge it - according to your own rationale (which I believe to be slightly faulty).

Furthermore, aren't somethings absolute, and one need not be involved to judge.

I would bet my eye teeth you judge me, and many of your neighbors, yet have never lived my lifestyle, or theirs.

you would lose your bet atari, take em out!

the judge of the judges of the judges is just

I am judged by FLDS faithful - repeatedly on this board - the teeth stay.

God is just - yes he is.

Growing up in the FLDS, I was taught that suicide was absolutely the worst thing that a person could do. You would suffer immediate damnation and would experience a permanent hell far worse than the experiences that drove you to contemplate suicide.

I find this news very troubling. I wonder what caused him to attempt suicide if this rumor is true. It seems to me that he must have serious doubts about his faith if he would attempt suicide considering what is taught about it within the FLDS.

Anyone have more information regarding how he is doing?

Believe me, it's EASY to contemplate suicide -- even if it IS taboo according to FLDS teaching.

When circumstances strike you down (e.g., extreme depression from losing your priesthood, your job, your family, or dealing with physical / sexual abuse) and there is nowhere to turn and no one to talk to who understands, yeah suicide looks LOTS better than going on with a life that is turning to utter ordure!

When you hit rock bottom like that, you're not thinking about what you've been taught. After all, a lot of what you've been taught just got turned on it's head, so what the hell, eh?

Anyone know how James is doing now? Is he home? I wish him the best.

Good observation Bluebeard.

Rumors may be coming from thin air but, if you think rationally so did your whole hypothesis for belief in the fantastic sequence of events and the irrational writings surrounding the start of the Mormon belief system. I include the following references:

1. The idea of divine inspiration of any of JS or his following.

2. The idea that 'prophets' are necessary to begin with. They were before the advent of Jesus and His victory over death, but no longer. HIS coming fulfilled prophesy and the law. Neither are necessary any more.

3. That followers of Smith's flock are nothing more than the 'fleeced' victims of the Mormon system.

4. That the idea of "Blood Atonement" by an individual to cleanse that person from their own sin has any merit at all. Blood atonement was completed in Jesus' death upon the cross at Calvary. The full price of Sin was paid in full of all eternity makes human attempts to equate GOD'S Gift a sham.

5. That GOD was once man and that man can become GOD is an abomination. This concept is the thesis of antichrist.

6. That a live person's substitutionary baptism for a person now dead is somehow acceptable for that person's salvation is a silly and empty promise.

7. That a member of the 'priesthood' is essentially responsible for the salvation of those within their realm or influence is nothing but a lie held over their following simply for purposes of control.

8. That any man, simply because of gender, at least has a chance to go to heaven, whereas a woman must have a man to "pull" her through the curtain, and thus he holds total and absolute control over her destiny, is a self-serving Mormon fabrication totally without any biblical foundation or background.

9. That GOD Almighty, creator of heaven and earth, SON (singular) and HOLY SPIRIT, is indeed Adam, the first man, Michael the archangel over Israel, or any other man or archangel is an absolutely false assumption. That Jesus and Satan are brothers born of a sexual union between GOD (TRINITY) and any female amounts to blasphemy in it's most vile form. GOD is a Spirit, not a man, the creator without DNA, capable of causing immaculate conception through creative means at HIS OWN WILL, and not the coupling of two human beings or a god and a human female.

10. That any text that claims superiority to the Bible is a blatant lie, straight from the pit of hell, even though it's arthor is Joseph Smith and Satan it's inspiration.

Well streetie,

You associate youself with Joseph Smith, Satan and the pit of hell. Well, you are in 'like' company.
"Birds of a feather flock together."

GOD IS GOD. HIS is the last judgement and the last laugh, and HIS name still isn't Adam, the created man, Michael, the created archangel or any created being.

Man is not and never can nor will achieve any statue except that of the created. Man cannot create, he can only assemble. If you can create, go make you some sunshine and dirt. Note: I said, "You" make sunshine and dirt, you can't borrow them from that which has already been created. GOD'S not in the "rent some dirt and sunshine" business. Make your own.

Michael has a job. He's Israel's protector. You are not Israel. They wouldn't adopt you for a reward and you can't get to be an Israelite except by birth or adoption. You're claiming the title doesn't make it so.
