President Woodruff and The Manifesto

"President Woodruff personally authorized Apostle Abraham H. Cannon to marry a new plural wife..." This reference is also in Apostle Cannon's own journal:

It is startling, to say the least, that President Wilford Woodruff approved of and promised "the Lord's blessing" on the plural marriage which was being planned. This was four years after he published a "solemn" denial of the practice in the Manifesto: "We are not teaching polygamy or plural marriage, nor permitting any person to enter into its practice,..." (Doctrine and Covenants, Official Declaration, page 256 of 1978 printing)

So much for the LDS and the less than honest manifesto.

Fundy & Barlow

Are you two in a competition to see who can post the most polygamy titled threads? The last three threads should have been comments under the fourth thread. If everyone kept on topic like fundy insists then we will have four dialogues going on the same subject. Since we don't have a way of only pulling up current comments it makes it a royal pain to follow.

Am I the only one that tires of multiple threads on the same subject?

I am too. I wonder if we only responded to threads posted by someone other than fundy or barlow if they would stop starting so many. I don't mind a new one - but three new ones on the same subject!

Me too!!!

If the past is any teacher they would probably post more if we intentionally ignored them.

The interesting thing about a religious argument is that those who have the least to offer generally have the most to say.

Muggsy, Fundy, Barlow and Curious.

Certainly confirms what has been said for years that the manifesto was never looked at as a serious document by the Mormons at the time of its inception.

The true believing Mormons keep pointing their finger at the manifesto as direct evidence of revelation from heaven about the ending of polygamy.

And that idea is complete and utter nonsense. The manifesto was a LIE, even Willford Woodruff admited that.

So all you true believing Mormons ought to open your eyes and see the buzzer going off here.

Your LDS Mormon Church has been TELLING YOU A LIE for years and years.

And if they can LIE about this they can LIE about other things. While the religion Joseph Smith started, the Mormon Church is certainly true. The people who have runing it since have not been telling you the truth. About this and other things, wake up.

If your going to be a Mormon, LDS or fundamentalist you HAVE to have some understanding of your church history. Instead the of BS the LDS church throws in shovels full. The history and all of the doctrine changes the LDS tell their members are full of LIES.

FUNDY said (8/06/2006 5:34 AM):
Let me give you idea about how to recognize a REAL TEMPLE OF THE LORD. If there is cloud in the sky that stays over it in the daytime, and seems not to move and that cloud beams down light at night on the Temple. Then you may have found a REAL TEMPLE. Where the might and presence of the Almighty resides.

If you are unworthy and an enemy of the Almighty you want to stay FAR AWAY from that Temple.

STREET’s Reply: That is correct. See, only the worthy are there, and the enemy of the Almighty are elsewhere, as you say. That is very well put, Fundy. ALL light is God’s light, for God is light, and all clouds are also of God, for “I am also in the cloud”, says He. All the world realizes now that the YFZ Temple has had both clouds and lights cast upon it, even sufficient enough to capture it on film and to take both the clouds and the light that are upon that place, and broadcast it throughout the world. You just have to recognize that God is in the cloud that is cast upon them, as well as the light, just like He says, so that they are a light on a hill that cannot be hid, and not twist God’s word, which says they “shall have a cloud over them by day, and a pillar of fire by night”, NOT a cloud by day, nor a light coming out of the cloud (Exodus 13:22):

“He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people”.

What did you say street????????

Ahahhh, see? Just as I thought, a big BLACK cloud hanginoverya.

One other thing, the FLDS tell their members just as many LIES as the LDS do.. They shovel out as much BS as the LDS do... This Temple in Texas has about much value as all the LDS temples do. They are all worthless. The Almighty will have nothing to do with any of them.

Is there internet access in the FLDS compound?

Second question OTS - why should be believe an apostate like you - aren't you a liar simple because you've been booted (even if you still do love the FLDS) - your still an apostate so nothing you say can be trusted - right?

onthestreet said...

Depends on how strong one's faith is, and how they handle the Prophet's adjustments. "If ye do well, Cain, thou shalt be accepted". Then you won't be apostate at all, but continue faithful.

So "right" is wrong. Believe if there is light in you to perceive it so. Otherwise, only a dark cloud hangs over you. The Prophet has the right to rule the saints, and the Lord the nations. If you fight it, you fight Him, the God of us all.

Anonymous said...

I wonder how the Prophet handles adjustments?

Where in scripture Bible and or Book of Mormon does it mention the prophet is "God" of us all?

Isnt' an apostate worse than a gentile (according to warren)?

I agree, it is a waste of valuable time to try to chase every thread down only to find that the information is redundant.

Vanity of vanities, and redundancies of redundancies, all is vanity...Saith the Prophet, saith the Lord.

Same old, same old. Hope you carry plenty of fire insurance. You'll need it, not that it would do any good where you are headed..

Ain't sweet --- calls em like I sees em!

Where I'm headed? Ahh yes, God dwells in eternal burnings. Now that's INSURANCE!

Give me a reference to your comment, "God dwels in eternal burnings."

Isaiah 33:
10. Now will I rise, saith the LORD; now will I be exalted; now will I lift up myself.

11. Ye shall conceive chaff, ye shall bring forth stubble: your breath, as fire, shall devour you.

12. And the people shall be as the burnings of lime: as thorns cut up shall they be burned in the fire.

13. Hear, ye that are far off, what I have done; and, ye that are near, acknowledge my might.

14. The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?

D&C 88:
67. And if your eye be single to my glory, your whole bodies shall be filled with light, and there shall be no darkness in you; and that body which is filled with light comprehendeth all things.

68. Therefore, sanctify yourselves that your minds become single to God, and the days will come that you shall see him; for he will unveil his face unto you, and it shall be in his own time, and in his own way, and according to his own will.

69. Remember the great and last promise which I have made unto you; cast away your idle thoughts and your excess of laughter far from you.

D&C 64:

24. For after today cometh the burning—this is speaking after the manner of the Lord—for verily I say, tomorrow all the proud and they that do wickedly shall be as stubble; and I will burn them up, for I am the Lord of Hosts; and I will not spare any that remain in Babylon.

anon 11:47 I don't understand why the Mormons,FLDS and OTS keep quoting the Bible.

Because we believe in the Bible. Why wouldn't we quote it?

Plus it's common ground with all you. Not much point quoting the Book of mormon at you, is there?

Correct. You don't understand.

Oh, but it is the twisting and braiding that makes strong cables and beautiful braids, and the very way the DNA is formed: IT IS TWISTED.

If concepts and structures are not engineered properly, then they do fall. Ahh, but do YOU understand, my child?

LETS QUOTE SOME BOOK OF MORMON...
ALMA 34: 32 For behold, this life is the time for men to prepare to meet God; yea, behold the day of this life is the day for men to perform their labors.
33 And now, as I said unto you before, as ye have had so many witnesses, therefore, I beseech of you that ye do not procrastinate the day of your repentance until the end; for after this day of life, which is given us to prepare for eternity, behold, if we do not improve our time while in this life, then cometh the night of darkness wherein there can be no labor performed.
34 Ye cannot say, when ye are brought to that awful crisis, that I will repent, that I will return to my God. Nay, ye cannot say this; for that same spirit which doth possess your bodies at the time that ye go out of this life, that same spirit will have power to possess your body in that eternal world.
35 For behold, if ye have procrastinated the day of your repentance even until death, behold, ye have become subjected to the spirit of the devil, and he doth seal you his; therefore, the Spirit of the Lord hath withdrawn from you, and hath no place in you, and the devil hath all power over you; and this is the final state of the wicked.
