Is he as bad as Osama?

**LAKEWOOD, Colo. -- Federal agents searched a Lakewood home for one of the FBI's 10 most wanted fugitives Tuesday, but came up empty.

**Authorities in Mesquite are denying an Internet rumor they missed an opportunity to catch one of America's most wanted fugitives.

**because he closed down the ability of people to communicate with the outside world and outlawed TV and radio and any other communication, it allowed him to become a tyrant to commit these crimes with impunity, to feel that he's above the law, and now finally we're trying to bring him to justice, but he doesn't want to come in. He's a coward.

TO GORDON B.HINKLEY AND ALL APOSTLES AND FIRST COUNSELORS. SHAME ON ALL OF YOU ,STAND UP AND DEFEND THE PRINCIPLE. 1869 Wilford Woodruff, Mormonism's future fourth president, taught, "If we were to do away with polygamy, it would only be one feather in the bird, one ordinance in the Church and kingdom. Do away with that, then we must do away with prophets and Apostles, with revelation and the gifts and graces of the Gospel, and finally give up our religion altogether and turn sectarians and do as the world does, then all would be right. We just can't do that, for God has commanded us to build up His kingdom and to bear our testimony to the nations of the earth, and we are going to do it, come life or come death. He has told us to do thus, and we shall obey Him in days to come as we have in days past" (JOD 13:165 - p.166).

Even as late as 1879, Joseph F. Smith was insisting that plural marriage was essential for LDS exaltation. Speaking at the funeral of William Clayton, Mormonism's future sixth president, stated, "This doctrine of eternal union of husband and wife, and of plural marriage, is one of the most important doctrines ever revealed to man in any age of the world. Without it man would come to a full stop; without it we never could be exalted to associate with and become god..." (JOD 21:9).

In today's world of Mormonism, Joseph Smith, Brigham Young, Orson Pratt, John Taylor, and many other well-known heroes of the Mormon faith would be promptly excommunicated from the LDS Church for their participation in practicing their view of celestial marriage. LDS Apostle Bruce McConkie declared, "All who pretend or assume to engage in plural marriage in this day, when the one holding the keys has withdrawn the power by which they are performed, are guilty of gross wickedness" (Mormon Doctrine, pp.579). No doubt, if Brigham Young were alive, he would rebut this by stating, "Now if any of you will deny the plurality of wives, and continue to do so, I promise that you will be dammed..." (Journal of Discourses 3:266).

It would be incorrect to think polygamy is a dead issue within the LDS Church. While McConkie denounced the practice of polygamy in this life, he did say, "Obviously the holy practice will commence again after the Second Coming of the Son of Man and the ushering in of the millenium." (Mormon Doctrine, p. 578). The most common answer as to why it is no longer a practice in the LDS Church is that it violates the law. Such an argument compels us to ask, "Does God really care what American law says?" A Mormon may argue that present circumstances reflect God's will regarding this subject, but a Mormon who chooses such a defense will find no support for this from leaders prior to 1890. Almost without exception, pressure from the United States to eliminate polygamy was looked upon as a direct refusal of recognizing God's will. Also, what about other countries where polygamy is legal? Is the LDS Church going to be so arrogant as to inflict American precedent upon its members in countries where polygamy is not outlawed?

Polygamy is not the issue here. Have as many wives as you want. The issue is a man that allows child molestation to go on. The issue is a man that is a pedophile and allows young girls to be raped and married off. The issue is a man that does onlyl things that benefit himself. He obviously doesn't even really care about his followers. As long as it is self satisfying he does not care what happens to whom. Polygamy is not the issue here. The law is not looking for hiim for having so many wives. They are looking for him because he molests and allows others to molest children.

"BULL CORN" You can put what every you like in the place of corn. If Brent was so hurt by his 3 uncles. Why drop the suit against 2 of them and keep going after just the 1? Oh that's right, 2 of them don't have that much money to get, lets try for the one that we can get as much riches as we can from. I say again " BULL CORN"!!

Polygamy is the sparkle that draws your eye to the situation. But it's not about polygamy (at least that's what I've learned).

It's urgently about children being hurt, denied education, and denied choice.

It's secondly about women having no choices, and being force to live sometimes dreadful existences in order that they might obtain salvation.

It's about men being emasculated, humiliated, and abused by a leader.

It's about a community so scared to stand up for itself, so abused, that its beginning to crumble

It's about a man, who has skillfully manipulated the men and women of his community both in the open, and from the shadows.

It's about the neighboring people from other communities staring in at the suffering people from the this community. Feeling powerless to help and in complete jaw dropping awe of a people so battered down and abused that they cannot look out for their own well being or that of their children.

This community has been lashed, pummelled, ridiculed, abused and scorned by it's OWN leader. He has brought the community to it's knees in fear.

As someone from the outside looking in, I want to help, and I will do what I can, but I think the help will come from within.

Enough of you have to gather together, because alone, there is weakness. Gather together. Once strength is established, many of people will come, but you will need to stay strong, and not waver no matter what.

Few would stand alone. But many would stand with a group.

Utah has some stupid law that does not allow someone to bring charges in a court of law against someone in bankruptcy.

That is why Brent Jeffs had to drop charges and the lawsuit against the others and just pursue it against Warren.

The other uncle is in bankruptcy court, so the judge dismissed this sodomy case.

However, that DOES NOT Mean that the other uncles were not guilty of sodomizing this boy.

It is just that Brent could not pursue the charges because of the bankruptcy issues.

Great JUSTICE in Utah. POOOH

But he could pursue it against Warren because he is not in bankruptcy, he is just on the run from the law.

Fugitives are fair game!!! And rightly so.

join the real world. no one in your community knows anything about abortion, tsunamis, hurricaines, plagues, supposed spying. They just know that their homes are on the block, their profit(et) is on the run and their station in life is being identified by an idiot like you.

Tsunami's, earthquakes, tidal waves, volcanic erruptions, typhoons, hurricaines, toronados, eclipses, tides, cold fronts, ice ages etc. are all natural occuring phenomea.

I'd rather fight Osama in Asia rather in America. If Americans or those protected by Americans are involved in a conspiracy to harm Americans I for one would like to know in advance. If listening in on potentially threatening telephone conversations will keep one American from being killed it's worth the effort. I don't feel threatened. I haven't done anything against the law nor do I plan to do so is in my immediate future. State after state is enacting laws that will eventually reverse Roe vs. Wade. There are wars and rumors of wars. As long as this earth stands in it's present form, under the control of the angel of light, Satan, things are not going to improve. This is not a perfect place and I can't, for the life of me, see that you are doing anything to improve the situation. Do us all a favor and button it up, you've become a classic bore never offering a solution, only repeating redundant phrases that have no meaning.

I'm not a fan of homeland spying - we lose more than we gain.

It seems like an idea born of fear, NOT of good judgement.

One read through the book of Revelation makes you realize that technology, such as that, will not necessarily always be used to catch 'the bad guys' as we know them.

I concur, and I agree with the fear element and I too am aware of the connotation regarding Revelation. The whole world is racing toward such a time.

As I understand the situation, no conversations are being listened to except those that by computer selection have a developed history of making phone calls to or receiving phone calls from those areas of the world where terrorists have been proven to congregate. I don't know any better way to contain their activities than to be aware ahead of time and to "nip their plans in the bud."

There is no perfect solution, but then had we known OBL's plan ahead of time 9/11 might have been foiled. The lesson of 9/11 seems to lose it's meaning as does the lesson of Pearl Harbor, the further in time we part from those incidents.

GWB, in his first statement following the Twin-Towers tragedy noted that we were involved in a War on Terror, and that the war would be long and hard. I sincerely believe that his and his administration's efforts have been focused on protecting the American homeland. Has he made mistakes? Of course.

Was he at fault relating to FEMA's responses to the hurricaines? That is debatable. Rita was a catagory 5 storm too. Governor Perry of Texas asked for the Federal Government to help when it appeared that the storm would make landfall in Texas. Response was immediate. Louisana's governor waited two days before she asked for Federal assistance, The Governor of a state is the only person who can make the request of the Federals. We are (after all) United STATES of America. Unless the state relinquishes it's domain, according to Federal Law, the Feds cannot interfere, assist or any thing.

What was Ray Nagan (sp.)doing? He hotfooted it out of town, left hundreds of school busses parked that could have gone up and down the streets and rescued stranded people ahead of the storm. Miss management, yes. But let's enlighten the public as to the real causes of the problem, incompetence at the local and state level.

I'm not a rabid liberal, or anything resembling it. I've always voted Republican, and am aware of the situation during the hurricaines.

However, I truly feel that the spying is like a tumor. The kind of tumor that is small and spindly - it doesn't grow bit and large initially, it sends down tentacles (it's called an oligodendroglioma). The tentacles entagle themselves into the very core of the brain so small, tiny and invasive that no surgery will ever remove them all. AND THEN it begins to grown - and THEN you feel symptoms.

Initially used for something perhaps good, best of intentions, national safety etc. But bottom line is, where does it stop, and what will the next persons rationale be for invading private communications without due process. By the time we realize what we've given the government, it's too late to take it back.

I'm not normally a knee jerk kind of girl, but this has got my knees at my chin.

It reminds me also of gun control - sounds like a great idea - the criminals won't have guns...but the criminals ALWAYS CAN FIND A GUN. It impacts regular citizens, citizens who don't use guns to commit crimes.

I just can't bite, I don't think it's worth the price that ordinary citizens will pay when they talk to their auntie working as a nurse in a hospital in dubai so she can pay off her husbands funeral.

It's almost too late for that. All of my horses now have to have a chip (or tag) - of course they did this to keep the food sources clean (I don't think so - as they state their goal is to have it on all dogs and cats).

When any of my horses leave our property, I will be required to report where the horse goes (which means that all facilities need a number - a special number issued by the government). I need to tell them which horse went, the number of the facility they went to, how long they were gone, and when they came back - anytime the horse is off my property.

I guess riding by the river will be interestng.

Nope - that happened without even the public realizing it did.

Of course - I will have to pay for all of this.

But, a feed lot, who has 10,000 chickens only need register ONE chicken.

Now...tell me how that protects the food source?

It doesn't, it's not meant to - and it's freaky scarry as far as I'm concerned - why the HELL do these people care when and where my daughters ride their horses?

I think if they infringe anymore I'll have to get a KING SIZE BED to make room for them.

Get a larger set of pots & pans. Don't think that they will self sustain.

Since some state and Federal Jail systems place leg straps with computer chips installed for recognizing the presence probationary criminals and with the perfection of GPS, it won't take long for "Big Brother" to keep track of every human or animal on the planet. But, we still haven't solved our problem as how to interrupt terrorist communications without infringing upon some of the basic Constitutional rights of our citizens.

rcn

ATAR_i said...

Perhaps we can't, and we might just have to live with that.

Citizens will end up giving up all their rights, and terrorists will still find a way through, they will find a way.

We'll have given up everything for the ideal of a safe country, only to find that despite our best efforts they found a way. What was the sacrifice for then?

Bottom line - you do what you can do, without trampling over the Constitution and the Bill of Rights - and that's all you can do.
