FLDS Polygamy What Went Wrong

The Big List of What Not to do:

1. Treating their women like livestock. Women are simply not going to put up with it any longer.
2. Having continous unrealistic visions of the whole membership being lifted up to heaven on some date that never happens. Many such dates.
3. Instead of a healthy religion turning into a cultish nightmare for its members.
4. Trying to get all the members to move to some remote desert in Texas.
5. Getting up in the middle of church and start kicking members out.
6. Having some group of teenage gangsters go around and see if your picture is on the wall. Laughable.
7. Treating your members like they are living in Russia with some tyrantical despot.
8. The list goes on and on.. However Lyle Jeffs is probably not smart enough to get things turned. Need to get someone else.
9. Polygamy is not the problem here, its the idiots running it.

HEY!

What's with this picking on Russia?

WHat did they ever do to you?

Hey Barlow,

Why didn't you guys sack up and take it over after Warren kicked Dan and Louis out. You had your chance to be in charge and you shot yourselves in the foot. I was standing there waiting for you guys to come riding in from the horizon and bring the work back to what it once was. Instead, you rolled over, let your wives get reassigned and your houses taken over. I don't know how you Barlows are able to face your cowardly selves in the mirror.

Don't be too hard on Dan and Louis for not standing up to Warren. They were just following the counsel of Uncle Fred, their priesthood counsel.

I'm gonna be hard on them. They had a chance, and they screwed it up. Fred too. If these guys would have stood up to a tyrant, would the FLDS be in it's current state? Dan, Louis, and Fred were much better leaders than Warren. Too bad only one of them is still around.

STREET’s Reply: The Barlow brothers aren’t stupid. They know legitimate authority when they see it. It is the opposing refuse that is so cowardly and self-serving, which is so obviouse in your comment, being cowardly unable to face the truth while seeking personal gain. If the Barlows are repenting from afar, the triumph is theirs, and total defeat is yours. The post of 5/16/2006 10:53 AM just shows the unity of Uncle Fred with Uncle Warren, but you are too cowardly to admit anything that supports the man, yes. Everyone can see that, including yourself. Taking over, like tyrants, would have been the read SCREW-UP.

All in good time! Those who have mocked the law and the legal system will have their day in court. Thanks to blogs like this one, you have offered ample evidence of the abuses claimed by victims and the mindset that allowed it.

In a few months or maybe a year you will be meeting new friends, you might even have a new roommate named "Bubba". You'll have lots of time, but no internet privilages.

Just keep on babbling, we can never download enough of this. Couldn't of done it without you. A special thanks to OTS who has represented Warren so well.

As bad as others make CC out to be, with the girls not being able to write their name.

My mom got a college education while raising 12 children. My grandma when back at 50 and got her four year degree. Although I graduated from High School about the time that MCC was took off our list, I read alot and I am learning continually, so I'd say I have higher education.

My eighth grade class had 130 graduates, my high school graduation had 32. Not a very good ratio, but considering that I did not graduate with them either, (it only took me two years) I'd say the ratio that actally had a GED or something by graduation was prob 1/2. About normal for the US.

ATAR_i said...

Where did you get the statistics for only 50% of kids graduating, graduating early, or getting their GED?

I think that is a gross mistatement of statistical data.

ATAR_i said...

FYI - in a study I found

The estimated national PUBLIC school grauduation rate in 1998 was 71%

This DOES NOT include those that received their GED, or those enrolled in private schools.

Link to the study

In Arizona the graduation rate (not including Private Schools or GED's) WAS 70%.

That means that your graduation rate was about 25%, while your states average was 70%.

ATAR_i said...

U.S. High School Graduation Rate Hits All-time High - 85% average us adults age 25 and over had completed at least high school in 2003 (according to the US Census Bureau).

High School graduation rates per state

Projections of Education Statistics to 2014 - Between 2001–02 and 2013–14, the number of high school graduates is projected to increase nationally by 10 percent.

I'm just including some references - the second one is really interesting if you click on the links to each state you can find out how much the federal government contributes to the state for uninsured medical, information about smoking, obesity, etc etc

In 2002, average earnings by highest level of education were: for those with advanced degrees, $72,824; for bachelor’s degree-holders, $51,194; for high school graduates, $27,280; and for nongraduates, $18,826.

onthestreet said...

Ahh, that's it. Your education is only for filthy lucre. If we graduate 25% in such filth, then we have exactly 25% too many graduating.

ATAR_i said...

Education doesn't equal filth.

Money doesn't necessarily equal filth.

However. I know some FLDS are educated, and I know many are wealthy.

I think your last comment is a slap in the face to your own sucessful businessmen.

onthestreet said...

Not if our education and gainful employ are not for filthy lucre. Do we study and work to hoard money and filth to ourselves, or do we study and work to turn it over to the Lord, and to cast it out?

EVERYONE WHO IS HONEST KNOWS THE TRUTH IN THAT REGARD. We turn it over, don't we. We put it into the hands of the Lord, don't we.

I've seen some pretty decent houses and a few too many pricey trucks to buy that.

Very good: Decent houses for Decent people, and priceless.

They turned it over to God where it belonged, and they abtained what they needed through the Prophet. That is just good order, the scriptural order (Acts 4:32):

32. And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.

33. And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.

34. Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold,

35. And laid them down at the apostles' feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.

If money is so filthy, why did you on a previous post reply to my statement that money was your commodity so positivly? So, gathering he filthy money you love to hate to love is the sole purpose for the existance of your cult.

Scrooge McDuck Jeffs, with dollar-signs in his eyes rolling and bathing in his vault of cash.

STREET’s Reply: Ahh, see, who owned them? They were turned over to the Prophet, and he distributed them back to the faithful (after a terrible trial of their faith, for God is a god of battle and of terror to all who hate him). Therefore, receiving them lawfully, they could live in them and drive them, as they had need. Pretty simple, and really quite beautiful, yes? See, nobody hoarded anything, not even the Prophet, but allocated everything in an orderly fashion, as the saints had need (THE SAINTS, mind you). Nothing is distributed to the wicked, or to those who lose their way, “for they have their reward”, saith the Lord.

STREET’s Reply: It is not the money or any other commodity that is filthy, but the filthy hands that try to take if from the Lord, for all things are His, and this is why you sign off “Mad as a March hare”.

Not a sign off, a summarial observation of previous paragraph.

"What's Pennies for the Prophet?" if not a rip off of children's little allowance to build a great complex(s) to honor Ant Jeffs (no J) None intended, none earned, none proclaimed except by the first person singular of the topic.
Who loves $$$$$$$$$$$$ Warren!!!!

STILL A MUDDY RUMP (6/02/2006 10:38 AM): Matthew 26:

6. Now when Jesus was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper,

7. a woman came to him having an alabaster jar of very expensive ointment, and she poured it on his head as he sat at the table.

8. But when his disciples saw this, they were indignant, saying, "Why this waste?

9. For this ointment might have been sold for much, and given to the poor."

To be offended by the building of a House to the Lord, is to prove His enemy.

Houses built to honor SELF are not houses built to honor the LORD.

So right, but the YFZ Temple is fully acknowledged as "The House Of The Lord, by those involved. Therefore, it is obviously not for "self". Yet, the True Self IS THE SANCTUARY OF THE LORD.

OTS, your vernacular is odd, but I think you are saying something that is commonly accepted.

I Corinthians 6:19
"Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own
