Lyle Jeffs Paid his Taxes

After telling all the FLDS to not pay taxes, Lyle Jeffs recieved an eviction notice if he didn't pay his taxes. So he paid taxes for the whole block that he lives on! Double Standards, (I want my house, but it's OK if you lose yours.)
Anyone remember that Roger Williams was evicted for not paying his taxes. They wouldn't even give his a second chance. What goes around comes around

HILDALE - Sending an eviction notice to Lyle Jeffs, brother of fugitive Warren Jeffs, and instructing him to either pay his property taxes or move out was purely a test case, but apparently it worked since Jeffs went in and paid $14,000 in cash for the 64-acre parcel he lives on.

United Effort Plan special fiduciary Bruce Wisan made that announcement at a town meeting Wednesday night that was well attended by apostates of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Members appointed as temporary trustees were also in attendance.

Wisan also said many others living in the polygamous communities of Hildale and Colorado City have not paid property taxes and will face the possibility of being evicted if they don't pay the money.
"Property taxes are still a major issue," Wisan said. "If you do not want to pay taxes, let's get on with it and do it. People who want to stay, pay the property taxes."

But one Colorado City resident, Lenore Holm, who won a life estate on her home after a court battle, questioned why Wisan did not use the money from the sale of property in Apple Valley to pay the taxes.

"What did you do with that money?" Holm asked.

Jeffrey Shields, attorney for Wisan, explained that the property had been taken out of the name of the trust and sold to another company and if the court did not intervene, the trust would not have received any money.

Wisan explained that the money from that sale went to the UEP trust, the financial arm of the FLDS church. It was used to pay income taxes, is being used to pay for the surveying of the two communities to break large lots down into individual parcels and to pay attorney fees.

"Everything we do requires litigation," Wisan said.

Shields explained to Holm that even those with life estates on property have been required to pay property taxes.

Another resident with a life estate asked about making improvements to his property. He said previously, apostates were not allowed by the former trustees of the UEP to make improvements worth more than $500 without permission.

Wisan responded that he would love to see improvements made and said all that was required was to obtain the proper permitting through the appropriate cities.

As the special fiduciary, all building permits are to be signed by Wisan. But since he was appointed by the courts last May, he has yet to sign a permit, although building has taken place.

Colorado City resident Laura Johnson asked Wisan what someone should do who was denied a building permit by the cities, which are run by members of the FLDS church.

Wisan said those issues would be legally addressed.

Wisan said he is also looking at leasing some buildings to businesses, including a high-tech business that would bring approximately 100 jobs to the community, and said he would like to see some economic development in the community.

Ending on a high note, Wisan said several men who were forced out of the community would like to come back and one man sent a check for $1,000 for a lot that he had been assigned to as a young man and had actually poured a cement slab and laid footings for a home on.

"He wants to come back and start building and I am thrilled with that," Wisan said.

I don't remember if it was Wisan or Jeff Shields that told us that Lyle didn't show up in person; he had Jacob Barlow (if I recall correctly) show up to pay the taxes. I don't think Lyle wants to be seen publicly.

Can anyone point me to a picture of Lyle?

lets stir the pot. there is not enough trouble in the world. I think if you try you can think up a greater insult than that; come on guys, your losing your touch.

Yeah, Rumor. It's the same as Animal Farm: "All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others."

All Saints are equal, but if you happen to be a Jeffs (or one of the favored) your are more equal than others.

Will they ever run out of Barlow boys who will do the devil's deed?

What is up with that bunch?

They are just wimps in sheeps clothing.

well, at least they paid there taxes like they always have. and sheep do not pay taxes. They graze and eat. Then men have lunch. But there life was tax free. Lucky sheep. More than i can say for us. We have to work, pay taxes and then we die. so much for taxes and humanity. and feilds of alfalfa. too bad they can not eliminate taxes. Think how many people could have been saved in new orleans if it had not been for red tape and wasted tree's. Keep it coming. There is only one insult on the board. You guys are losing your touch. I mean one insult since i last took note of the last insult. I thought that is what you did best, and it appears that you are just sorta losing your flaver for insults. i could be wrong. maybe you really did not like insulting honest tax paying people. Maybe your fingers just slipped on the keys. i could give you the benifit of the doubt, but i think you have lost your insult power a touch. check me if i am wrong.

I am not a Warren follower, but I am sure glad that Issac and Ross can now quit lusting after Lyle's house.

Lyle Jeffs is one of those guys that need to leave CC and go to Zion. He is a THUG. He is living in a house he did not build. It was built by a man that Lyle Jeffs destroyed and killed.

he paid his taxes.

Correction. The PEOPLE paid his taxes. Lyle has no gainful employment other than to be the watchdog for Warren. So it was the poor, toiling, suffering PEOPLE who came up with that money in the form of the monthly extortions which Lyle was so free to pay "his" taxes with, to the exclusion of the very people who earned it.

sounds like Lyle is just as much of a free-loading crook as his brother Warren is.

When will the faithful stop giving their hard earned money to support the lazy and greedy Jeffs family who is not from the creek but took over our town and has brought us such sorrow.

when they wake up, IF they ever do.

Street so "dedicated Lyle Jeffs" "TAXES" are "TITHES" interesting concept.

I guess it makes it a nice tax deduction for someone.

So my question is Sam Barlow and Sam Roundy going to benefit from the "TITHES", too.

Hey WARREN,

Looks like Lyle paid his property taxes - as is the custom in America.

Are you waking up to reality yet?

Love,
A faithful follower

Street says it all: And I quote:

15 - Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

WOW

Warren certainly is strange; it don't take a prophet or special inspiration from God to detect that, so I guess I won't follow a stranger.

Street, why don't you argue with something that isn't conjured up?

The Doctrine and Covenants in conjured up; I wouldn't call it a Good Book.
