Top Reasons to NOT Leave the FLDS

I would lose my eternal salvation. I could never get to heaven.
Things will get better!
"It" will never happen to me!
If it does, I will be happy.
It will be different for me, I have connections
Miss the Grandkids. If I leave I'll never see them again.
Miss my friends. If I leave they will never talk to me again.
Miss my family. I'll be disowned.
Miss my wife/husband. They prob. won't leave too.
Miss the mountains.
Miss the culture. plays, dances, basket ball, Harvest Fest. church
Miss the squeeky cheese.
Miss the Candy Shoppe
Miss the country
Miss "know everybody, everybody knows you."
Miss the house.
Miss the red dirt
Don't know where I would go
Don't know if I could qualify for a house?
How would I pay for it if I could?
What would I do with the kids?
What kind of job could I get?
How will I ever get another wife?
Bad things will happen if I am not doing the prophets will.

Any other reasons?

A good part of these fears will be realized whether a person leaves or not. Wish some would wake up.

I hope this is a sarcastic post. I feel so bad for all those women. Some men think women are too weak minded to make thier own choices.

As far as WJ goes, i think you misspelled "the prophet". Should that not be spelled "the profit"?

Hey! I was just thinking of all the reasons that someone would stay..because the main one why a person would leave is FREEDOM.
I guess sometimes people get comfortable.

It would be funny if someone offered cars to any women that live in CC that wanted one, wether they left or not. I bet there would be alot of freedom gained.

You can cross out "miss the culture". The only culture left is cold as an alaskan winter. Basketball, harvest fest, dances, plays, and now church even are all bad wicked of this world activities that have been crossed of the "list" to do in the flds social life.
By the way rumor, tell your hubby hi for me from an old friend.

just by the way it is soo soo hard to leave if you have any kind of a family. the supports that are being promised are not being given. It no fun to leave thinking that you have things lined up to make the difference and find out that really they are just dumpping you on your ass and you better have a really good back up plan

fttc said...

Who's making the promise for support? Explain further if you would.

MONEY!

Good reason to leave.

Then you could keep alot more:)

Anyone up for a list of the top money supporters of Warren Jeffs?

rumor-has-it said...

Don't you ever just rack your brain to wonder why such intelligent people would support such attrocities?

That's why I wrote the list. Even with the list...I still wonder. There has got to be more to it than that. I guess being "out" has it's disadvantages. Can't remember why we ever thought he was a good guy.

Prophet= A person who speaks by divine inspiration or as the interpreter through whom the will of a god is expressed.

A person gifted with profound moral insight and exceptional powers of expression.

A predictor; a soothsayer.

The chief spokesperson of a movement or cause.

Profit= An advantageous gain or return; benefit.
The return received on a business undertaking after all operating expenses have been met.

The return received on an investment after all charges have been paid. Often used in the plural.
The rate of increase in the net worth of a business enterprise in a given accounting period.
Income received from investments or property.
The amount received for a commodity or service in excess of the original cost.

HMMMMMMM ,which one would WJ fall under??

I like the F word. Even in grammar, we are taught that the PH sounds like an F.

Any coincidence?

Hans, Fritz, Rollo, Dick Tracy, Lil' Abner, Mutt 'n Jeff, Smitty, Bim Gump, Charlie Brown, Dennis the Menace, Sparkplug, Snuffy Smith, Joe Palooka: 14 comic strip characters, made up from a fruitful imagination just like the preceeding ten.

Keep these truths in mind:

The brevity of life limits knowledge Job 8:9 Psalm 73:22

The future is hidden Ecc. 8:7

Coming evils are unforseen
Ecc. 9:12

Life is mysterious
Ecc. 11:5

Both nature and grace are full of mysteries John 3:8

ALL of us are filled with ingorance. None are wise, not even one. A fool says in his heart "there is no God"

ots quit trying to impress us with your intelligence, it ain't workin'. Go to work trying to gain some wisdom. It'll serve ya better in the long run.

I think you're just nutty enough to become a poet of note, in some other era. What'cha smokin' boy?
Keep that up and you will awaken in a padded cell.

I think I'll start addressing you as alley, or cowpath or gutter kid the magnificat. Having won a masters degree in sinning your examples of literature, as far as need-to-know is concerned is a boring as a termite. Do you work to earn a living are are you a full time guest at the Warren Jeffs mammary bar and grill?

Anonymous said...

Let him without sin first cast a stone. Nominations are now in order for a new sinless one.

The first & last, alpha & omega beginning & end has completed the process. He offered Himself for the sins of the world. That includes your's and Warren Jeffs' too. If you but ask Him to forgive those sins and submit your total self into His care He will forgive and make you whole. If you don't you'll find out the truth at the time of the sheep & goat judgement.

Trying to gain God's attention apart from the shed blood of Jesus will end "Depart from me, ye workers of iniquity, I never knew you."

Like it or not, fits you plan or not, makes no difference. He died for your sin, you reject His gift then be assured you won't like the ending of all things.

What will we do when Warren Jeffs wakes up and says "Oh My God, What have I done?" and repents.

Could you forgive him?

Anonymous said...

Can someone please try to answer a question w/o nameing too much info. Now that Warren has been on the lam for sometime are the rules against TV, radio & Internet in Colorado City & Hildale still in force OR are there less restrictions.

rumor-has-it said...

They still hold to his teachings! And of course it is a control issue too.

If you do have it better beware when the missionaries come and check out your house and family.

But I happen to know people still have it. Just for doing "scrapbooking!". lol

Why would I not want to forgive Warren Jeffs. Since my Lord Jesus Christ said "Come unto me all ye who labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn of me, for my yoke is easy and my burden is light." Jesus gave His life for me, forgave me, why couldn't, or shouldn't I be able to forgive Warren Jeffs? In no way do I agree with his actions or teachings, but he is not mine to judge. Judgement belongs to the Lord.

ots, the copy and paste king.

Stop trying to pretend you are a poet. If you are going to quote, you should put your quotations in quotation marks and credit the source.

street,
If you were truly a follower of warren, and believed his teachings, you would know that he wouldn't approve of your study of Buddhist thought.

Anonymous said...

Rumor, you forgot one BIG reason that people are afraid to leave:
How will I fit in to a different society, having been raised this way, and how will other people (neighbors, etc.) treat me on the outside?

Anonymous said...

street,
Yes but, what would warren have to say about your study of Buddhist thought?

Anonymous said...

Yes but, you still haven't answered my question.
Let me try to make it clearer for you.
Suppose you were sitting and having a conversation with Warren and you were to say something like "Oh, I have been studying Buddhist thought and have been quoting from Buddhist internet sites on the Texas blog in defense of your honor". What do you think his response would be?

Anonymous said...

You don't know where you get your quotes from?
I don't know where you go on the internet to find things to plagiarize but your quote "Why does the enlightened man not stand..." "If the feet of enlightenment moved..." is from "The Enlightened Man" in "The Gateless Gate" by Ekai.

Its a simple question OTS.
Suppose you were sitting and having a conversation with Warren and you were to say something like "Oh, I have been studying Buddhist thought and have been quoting from Buddhist internet sites on the Texas blog in defense of your honor". What do you think his response would be?

Now, I am not asking what his response would be. I asked "What do you think his response would be?"

Anonymous said...

From the pictures I have seen of Warren he probably goes by his little statue of Buddah every morning and rubs his belly hoping to "gain" something for his effort.

Miss the child raping?

Miss the sexual abuse of children?

Let he who is without guilt first cast a stone street.

All this talk about fiting in -- I am told it is good to stand out. And it doesn't matter how you try to fit in with clothes, you (x-creekers) will always stand out in talk, ideas, and religion, standards, connections. So you might as well be comfortable in your clothes while you are standing out.

You know the thing I miss the most is the happy childhood that I had in the Creek and how I wish that my kids could have that same happy childhood.

Someone stole it.

I know that even though I morn this loss. It is everyones loss. Those that are still in CC have lost it. Those that have gone have lost it. Those who have lost their father have really lost it. And the church has definately lost it.
