What is the problem?

Confused Cowboy wrote:

For the life of me I can't figure out what the big deal is. These people lied to us when they came in here. They tried to cover up that lie with another one. They are lying to us still. I say clear out the whole bunch of them now while we can. A sharp knife cuts clean and the wound heals faster. Sounds cruel, but it is true.

You are confused, and a little scary. Don't go John Wayne on us and go riding in with the reins in your teeth and your six guns blazing. Those people might shoot back.

You can count on these folks shooting back. While I don't believe the stories of a big arsenal, I know they will not allow another raid like 1953. I don't know what the answer is, but I do know that we shouldn't repeat the mistakes of the past.

Maybe somebody should open a dialogue with them. There is probably some middle ground. Nobody really wants to go after plain old polygamy among consenting adults. If the government would agree to that, maybe they would agree to not marry girls under 16, 17, or 18, and to allow proper investigation of child abuse and elimination of welfare fraud. But they would have to present some one who can make agreements on behalf of Warren Jeffs.

But what if they register to vote, and do take over the county? They could certainly do that, even without voter fraud. They could eliminate taxes on themselves, or cut county services to the bone, or wipe out the schools.

Whoa! Let's drop all this knives and guns talk and look at the legal ramifications. Polygamy should be legal, if its not already. Who are we to judge how other people live.

Frankly, I am more concerned about what the YFZ Ranch is doing with its wastewater than I am about who is sleeping with who.

10 years ago, I would have said don't worry about them. They're peace loving people. They are only private because they want to protect their families. But since the reign of Warren Jeffs, I would be scared. Anyone that follows nearly the same method of people control as all the notorious villians of history is someone to watch very carefully.

Hey Ya'll down in Eldorado, trust me, there is no middle ground. I lived in Colorado City all my growing up years, and whatever Warren says, you had to do or be "damned to a world of fire and brimstone". So good luck! hope you all the best! But don't worry, they won't shoot back or shoot at all. Maybe with a nailgun, that's about the limit of the "arsinal" they have. Warren will always marry minor age girls for as long as he's not behind bars, so count any bargaining out of the question as one anonymous writer suggested. Find the damn guy and throw his corrupt ass in prison. That's the best advise you'll ever get

Hey guys? Why all the hassle? God will judge the man whether for good or for bad. In the mean time, let us worry about our own conduct so God doesn't judge us for bad. Everyone's worked up about how corrupt this man is that they cuss, swear, and complain, and lose what God offered us: His Spirit. While we are all complaining and persecuting this man, God has angels keeping records of our conduct that God will judge us by when the time comes. In the mean time, Warren Jeffs also has a life record of all the things he has done and God will judge him accordingly. Almost all of the rude comments you hear are from those who have been burned by the choices the man has made. I am very sorry to all of you who have, especially those who have had families taken away. I, too, am a victim of that. My family was ripped apart because my mother was told to leave my dad and they gave her a new husband. He was a good man and treated his wives with great respect. Six years after their marriage Warren told my mother that her present husband didn't have priesthood and if she wanted to be under the direction of the priesthood, she had to come from Idaho to Colorado City to live with her father. She mourned and ached and tried to get the Spirit back but she was torn to the bone that she had made covenants with the man and went against them. Her sister came to her one day and said, "That was a wonderful sacrifice you made." She replied to that comment, "I am going back to my husband!" She told me, "Those words just came out as if the Lord had put them there for me. So you see that I am a victim, she is a victim, and there are other victims like us that all say: "Let the poor man be and let God judge him for the works he has done. I'm not saying you have to be in league with everything he is doing but I am saying that you are forming your destiny in eternity by letting yourself get worked up over it. If you really want him to change his ways, pray for him that he will see the true way to go about things. Ask God to show him how to repent of any wrongs he may have done; and at the same time, ask God to help you repent of any wrongs you have done for none of us are truly perfect. God bless you all.

In response to anonymous 9:15, I appreciated the comments you made pointing out to those who read that we do need to tend to our own knitting. May the God who made Warren, you, and I be as merciful to us as we are to one another, for that is what He taught. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is a work of gathering in the lost souls of the human family. "If ye have a desire to serve God ye are called to the work..." The way we serve is through the acts of kindness we demonstrate to one another regardless of who they are or the church the do or don't go to. Remember, "By their fruits ye shall know them." I think any person capable of rational thought realizes that what Warren is doing is the gospel of Warren Jeffs and none other. The only name by which salvation comes is Jesus Christ and He is the One Man who has the right to judge any of us, being the only one who can do so perfectly without prejudice. Be encouraged, this whole experience was permitted to get the people to focus on Priesthood after the order of the Son of God, not kinghood after the order of men.

I love this Warren Jeffs. he is the kindest man I know. I have lived in his church all my life. Every time one of our leader's die, there are a certain amount of digruntled people who stir up a lot of lies. We are a peacable people. As to the one who said, They were lied to about the property. Have you ever considered, that maybe when the property was bought, we had certain thing's we plannedto do,and then changed our mind's about what we would do eith our land? Is this not what you do every day. One day you may plant a garden, and the next day you will plant lawn. One day you may think you will put in a green house, then you decide you want a fountain. When you sell property, it is no longer your's. What is your real complaint? I read an article, that said you were satisfied, until Flora showed up, with her Fantsy Drama Show.

To 1:18 am Are you asking us to believe that your prophet really did buy that property as his hunting retreat? Then suddenly he had a different brainstorm idea of a huge temple their instead, complete with a few thousand worshipping citizens.I am beginning to see why you people have such trouble wherever you go.You believe everyone that doesn't believe the way you do are complete morons.

Anonymous said...

If my comments seened confusing, it is because I got my information about this being a hunting retreat, from reading complaints, on this web page, and other's that complain. I do know this: Warren Jeffs is not a dishonest person. My point is: It is with in a person's right to do so what he desires with his oen property? Did you not enjoy your money? What is your real complaint? You must have had a good impression when you sold the property.

Hey 10:57,
ARE YOU A DIMWIT?
Your beloved Prophet LIED! Not only did he LIE, the people representing him LIED! They kept on LYING until the newspaper articles and stories forced them out into the open. That's when they went to the Sheriff and admitted that they had LIED!

Does God's man LIE?

If you god's man LIES then you need to get a new GOD!

Anonymous said...

I agree! It's not that he did what he wanted to do with the property, but that he lied about his intentions. If he hadn't said anything, nobody would have questioned or cared. Your people went out of their way to deceive the good people of Eldorado and apparently thought them to be stupid enough to fall for it!!!

Another thing is that the sellers of the property might have liked to know that a HUGE POLYGAMOUS CULT was being installed upon their leaving. I'm sure they might have thought twice about selling their property for these purposes. If for no other reason than to spare their poor neighbors the headache and frustration!

Of course that's where "Lying for God" comes into play....NICE STRATEGY!

I think that you should leave them alone. What are they doing to you? They would never hurt you so don't even think about going and shooting or taking things away from them. Think real.

Anonymous said...

Who said anything about shooting anyone? The question posed on the thread was a figure of speech.

I believe our Confused Cowboy was trying to say that Eldorado should find a way to get the FLDS folks out before they fall in love with Texas and decide they want to stick around.

Seems like with all the building violations and general disregard for the law, getting them out would be easy. Then I've been wrong before......

I dunno. Them Texans is good shots. If I was in Utah and was told to move to Texas right now I think I'd be skeered. Probly better off to stay put and wait till Uncle Warren is swinging on a short rope from a tall tree. Aint that how yall do it out there in Texas?

Watchin' close in Clinton, Arkansas

The spirit of mobbacracy has fallen upon your lips. Where is it written, tho shall persicute. If you people claim to be superior to the teachings I have been tought, let it show forth. It was never written that a people can persicute, and hate, and still be favored of God. It is written, He does spew such from his mouth. It is written, he does have a place prepared. IF YOU ARE TRYING TO CONVINCE A PERSON OF THE LIES AND DECIET OF A MAN, TRY TO DO IT WITH OUT THE SPIRIT OF MURDER AND MOBACRICY, if you can. To each man, is accountable to God, for there action's.

ok, to blogger 3:56 what are you going to tell the children when they grow up and learn what kind of man lead their parents while they were young. How long is it going to take for all of Warrens lies to rear their ugly heads? I know I'm supposed to be sitting on the "fence", but when it comes to the indoctorinating of children I have a hard time minding my own......

Anonymous said...

I agree 10:00!

I'm not the blogger you were addressing, but you make an excellent point.

There will come a time (SOON) when everything under Warren Jeffs will unravel. His leadership is destructive; heartache and misery follow him everywhere he goes. His teachings don't line up to his own doctrine (even an outsider can see that) and he makes more enemies every day. He's just one man.

His title is "Prophet", is it not? He claims his authority is from the Lord, but this guy couldn't predict rain!

What ARE the children going to think of their parents when they look back on this time in their lives? Will there be any credibility left? How can they trust their mother, who let a crazy man drive their father away? The effects are going to be far-reaching. I believe the Lord is going to hold the women and men of this community responsible for allowing Warren Jeffs' influence in their homes.

WAKE UP, MOTHERS AND FATHERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
