Temple is extremely large

Texas Eyewitness wrote:

Found a hilltop where I could view most of the temple. I'll try to post a photo but doubt if I have anything as good as the Eldorado newspaper is getting. The thing is enormous. Why is Warren Jeffs building such a bg building if he's not bringing all his followers to Texas. What goes on in a temple anyway?

A temple serves as a portal to heaven and earth. If Warren Jeffs has it in his mind to build a temple, he is doing a great thing. He believes strongly in polygamy and endowments in a temple that seal a man and woman or women for time and all eternity. A temple is also a way of doing ordinance work for the dead. The temple must be large because there are so many different rooms and each room may serve a different purpose. It's obvious that Warren Jeffs has a vision with this temple and I don't think it is to shelter all of his followers. The Success publishes that he plans to have it done for the annual conference to take place on April 6th which is believed to be Christ's birthday. There may be many of the FLDS coming to that conference who want to have ordinance work done. If the temple is done by that deadline, there is no doubt in my mind that they will be doing their spiritual work non-stop in that thing. It is important to realize that no matter what belief we have, we must act upon it. I would support a man who worshipped a yellow dog if he TRULY believed that was what would benefit him. Warren Jeffs may have some ideas that sound if-ish to us but that is what he believes and he is sincere in his belief. How do I know this? I have met him, I have talked to him.

You are not the only one who knows Uncle Warren. Some of us know him for the sham he is. Just like all the so-called prophets. Profiteer would be a better title, I think.

Great post!

We worry for folks like you, and wish you all the best.

I also worry about Nephi Barlow's boys. When he and his boys were building a Wendy's around here, I saw what kind of a father he was to his boys, and how they looked to him. When I heard he was "excommunicated", I worried about how his boys would handle it. Do you know anything about Nephi's situation, and how his boys are handling it? Did they stick with him?

Anonymous said...

I don't know much about what Nephi is up to now. I know that two of his younger sons my age were told to leave also, but the rest of his sons are very devout to Warren. Of the ten old barlow brothers that were born raised and practically built colorado city, only 2 are still in "good standing" with warren. which basically means he doesn't see them as a threat to his dictatorship over the people. not yet anyway......

hey anonymous that was concerned about Nephi and his boys, where you from?

Hey you anonymous"Lost Boy", I am really sick of your crap that you so call Warren Jeffs is giving, really it is you who will wish you would have done a hell of alot better. Well I'm 16 and I'm not married yet. And I enjoy living here in Colorado City!

now now, mr "loving life in CC", just explain to us how you got yourself in front of a computer. You're either one of the privileged few up on the hill or in some shack down in your uncle's basement messing with something that don't belong to you. Either way, what your not, is out in Texas planting seed or shoveling cow manure. So if I were you, I'd be more concerned with my own little ass than about bothering other folks on the Internet. Besides, what else are you doing on that computer...you not looking at any of those porno sites, are you? you know if good ol Warren catches you doing that sort of shit he won't be taking it too lightly, now will he? ...you might be calling yourself "hating life in a soup kitchen in St George"

Hey Loving Life In Colorado City, I'm happy for ya I really am. Anyone who is happy living there than that's their privledge. But I DO know that nearly 20% of the people still there are only there because they are scared to death of what will happen to their families if they say anything. Ya I'm sure your just lovin' it for all it's worth there, and so did I once upon a time. I truly hope you can stick it out when you get married to some phycopath that makes you stay in doors all day, doesn't let you touch the phones, and tells you that your family isn't good enough and you can't go see them anymore. THAT is what happened to someone I cared very much for. So don't come on here like you know what your talkin' about and think everything is ok from your observation. I'm not against anyone who honestly wishes to live the way you do. I think it is totally their right. But there ARE people there that want out, and don't know how to go about it. And people like you just make it harder, because they care what you think about them, yet you are so pig-headed that you think less of them for choosing a DIFFERENT lifestyle, not LESS of one. I do agree with you about the situation of most of the so called "Lost Boys". They are mostly drug addicts and alcohol abusers. But thinking less of them just makes it harder for them to come around. I don't even consider myself a "Lost Boy". I've NEVER even touched drugs, and I've been off alcohol ever since I left Colorado City. And yet kids who still live there will go out and drink, watch disgusting movies and then come to work the next morning down here and look down upon others and put themselves so high above everyone else on earth that they can't even give a friendly smile, or "lower" themselves enough to shake my hand when offered. Now you tell me, is that the way their taught? Hell no it isn't, yet they are still deamed as the "good boys" who are still there. So all I can say is, look inward before you judge, and quit being such a hipocrit! Grow up a little and then try to tell me what is right and wrong. Of course not ALL girls your age are getting married, but I betcha that a third of them have already, and pretty much the rest of you will be before your 18. And that is just plain SICK. Your husband will probably have to explain the facts of life to you on your wedding night. ISo enjoy life while it's simple little girl.

To Anonymous 4:41 (for those new to blogs, anonymous postings are identified by the time tag.)

I'm Anonymous 3:12. I'm from Lakeside, AZ. They built a Wendy's here. Pretty darn fast too. They are famous around these parts for building things really fast, with pretty good (although not great) workmanship. Still better than average, though.

I can't imagine any of Nephi's wives following Warren instead of Nephi.

You can tell Nephi's boys apart just by looking at him. That man has some VERY dominant genes.

FYI, this is Happy living in CC's dad and I have 4 computers, have much access to internet communication, for personal use and bussiness, since before many of the "lost Boys" Pimped themselves out to Dan Fisher for $250 and for which he and our "noble" attorney General Mark Shurtliff provided alchol to minors in Fishers home in SLC for a few $$$ more. And I have this information first hand by one of the young females they invited to this "meeting?".
I have been watching this all along, and I think it takes alot of guts to be different, form the world out of the normal run of people and stand up for what I believe in. Those who accuse about the porn must be speaking from personal experience, You know the deffinition of Lost, It is to be out where you do not know where you are going. It is in the best interest of any society to protect the innocence of our youth. And by the way, she is in a private high school,

Happy in colorado city's father

Truly great comments, Lost Boy. Hopefully, the powers that be who booted you guys from Short Creek will be be judged by somebody, someday. It sounds an awful lot like child abandonment to me; let's hope the authorities in Utah and Arizona keep tightening the screws.

The main difference in what happens to the children in this cult and the Catholic cult is that there are catholics that object to priest raping little boys and these people have no qualms about sacrificing little girls to dirty old men,

Anonymous said...

Dear Living In CC and loving it's dad, you might want to reconsider the school your daughter goes to, because she can't spell worth a hoot! And the 4 computers you have, I probably helped buy, since my tax money is distributed to the "needy" families out there. Nearly 10 million a year pours into your pockets from the tax dollars of the people you look at as "lesser" individuals. Now I'm not saying this is you, but it IS something that will stop. Welfare fraud is serious stuff, and it's rampant out there. Dan Fischer did not even know those boys had access to alcohol. Should have it been watched more closely? Of Course! He seriously is trying to help these boys, even though he can be a little pushy at times. I know the girl you speak of who was there, and have long known her to be quite the story teller. Mark Surtleff didn't supply any alcohol to minors. There were other people there who aided in this, and yes they should be punished, but luckily that is not your jurastiction. And Ya it takes alot of guts to be different. I made the same choice. I chose to lead a different life then my parents and relatives in CC, and you and everyone else still there scorn us for doing so? And then expect to be treated with respect and dignity? It takes alot to forgive people like you to, but if, and when you all of a sudden find yourself on Warren's made-up "naughty" list, and lose your home, family, and everything else dear to you, look me up and I'll help you find a place to stay, let you eat at my table, and will treat you as I would like to be treated. Why? because that is what I was taught. So when you think that someone looses all their values when they choose another lifestyle than the one you live, think again. I have found there are many many good people out here, just as there are bad ones. But it is the association of one or the other that makes you what you will become, not where they were born or raised, or what religion they choose, or what they wear. It's the deep down values that God looks at, not how many wives you have, or how faithfully you wore your long-underwear, or if you had a television in your home. It's time to look past your fanaticism and see what core values YOU have. And of course the innocence of youth should be protected, and part of that innocence is making sure that your daughter is unmolested until she is an adult, or to be more specific so you may understand, 18 years of age at least before you give her hand in marraige to a man. Think of that one for a while, but don't lose any sleep.

Oh and thanks for the compliment Randy, ya someday soon this will clear up and I will realize how stupid getting riled up about it is, but someone needs to answer for whats happening to innocent people. I think the States of Utah and Arizona have been doing an ok job of looking over the whole situation before acting, like they did in '53. I love my family that's still there more than anything, and hope the best for all of them. Hopefully they don't end up getting shipped off to Texas, because I'm worried what will happen to them down there.

Anonymous 3:12, ya they are skilled tradesmen. A few years back, the men of CC built a home from start to finish in 25 hours. The foundation was done previously, but from framing to moving in was just over a day. We built it for a homeless family. There was over 170 men at once working inside. Nephi overlooked the project.

I was born and raised in "The Work" as it used to be called. I watched as men became filled with greed and tried to control their leaders as they grew old in age. I watched a split here and a split there. Soon new names had to be formed to "Define us from the others". Thus the legal name FLDS was formed. Warren Jeffs is the second president of that organization. There are many that believe in "The Work" that are not FLDS. "The Work" as I was taught was the belief and practice of teachings in a paper written by John Taylor in 1886. I have read this paper, as people who believe in "The Work" have a copy. I know that the Mormon Church does not claim this as an offical revelation and I mean no disrespect to them. I am talking about what people in "The Work" believe that John Taylor wrote. I am simply talking about what is written in that paper and more importantly what is not written in it. It basicly says to keep Plural Marriage alive. It does not say to cheat the food stamps, or to not pay your credit cards. It does not say to not pay your brother back that which you borrored of him, just because Warren sent him away. It does not say to force your daughters to live plural marriage. Brother Leroy Johnson, who was not any President of the FLDS as it exists today, in fact most of what President Johnson was President over Warren has destroyed. He was a great man who blessed many people. Including the young men. He sent them to be doctors and dentists and school teachers. He had them get their education. He had them start industry and told them not to "oppress the hireling in his wages", a practice now common under the leadership of Warren, many FLDS members have had their pay cut, so the money can go to Warren. President Johnson would not marry any girl that did not come and "Turn herself in" first. This was basicly her saying "I am ready to be married and want you to do it. Warren has done away with this process and they have 5 minutes to decide or they are considered "Half-Hearted" and not for the Prophet. Nowhere in this 1886 paper does it say to put your sons to work instead of giving them an education and then cast them off when they can't conform becuase they have been working their butts off because they love their parents and their brothers and sisters and want to see them have food and clothes and such. It does not give any man any authority to undo any marriage and move women around the community like cattle. There is some teachings in the Doctrine and Covenants about adultery, releasing wives from a man if he is with a woman who is not his wife. Most of these men who have been sent out have not done that, they don't even know why they were sent away. Some asked for a trial as stated in D&C 102:15 "The accused, in all cases, has a right to one-half of the council, to prevent insult or injustice". They said they could get no returned phone calls and no answer to their repeated letters. The got no trial, as it was their right to have. The only answer they got, was when they found out that their dear wives were put in another man's house. Looks like Warren Jeffs can't follow the commandments of "The Work" in following the directions of D&C 102. Lets have a trial for him according to D&C 102 and have him answer for his neglect to follow the commandments of God given by Joseph Smith. Warren claims to hold the highest position in the High Priesthood. To hold that Priesthood, Warren has claimed that he would take an oath and covenant to obey the word of God as written in the D&C. Warren claims to be an Apostle of Jesus Christ. Instructions given by Jesus in the Book of Mormon 3Nephi:32 to his Apostles teach to allow the unworthy to continue to come to the places of meeting.

So to sum up, these men that have bent sent out should have first had a trial and then if they were found unworthy, still should get to come to the place of worship. I can find nothing saying they get to be robbed of their families and sent away without even knowing what they did. Maybe they knew the truth about Warren, second president of the FLDS and self-proclaimed Apostle of Jesus Christ.
If Warren wants to be an Apostle, he first needs to act like one. The work of an Apostle is to minister not destroy. If a group of people want to anger God, let them change the rolls of Jesus and Lucifer.

I invite those who still believe in "The Work", according to its original identity as defined by John Taylor, to offer any corrections to my understanding.
I have the Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, Teaching of the Prophet Joseph Smith. Journals of Discourses. These books define "The Work" as I understand.

Let those who believe in "The Work" help restore it for what it is and not what the current leadership of the FLDS claims it to be.

Hello anonymous 3:12 p.m., I worked on the Wendy's down there too. I also worked on both of the "house in a day" projects. Nephi Barlow certainly had a knack for organizing work efforts. I too, would like to know what came of him. I am glad to hear your concerned about him and all of the unfortunate ones in cc. I agree with those who stick up for the innocent, hard working, decent citizens of cc. I lived there most of my life, and I don't want to judge those people. To do so would be judging myself. I know what is going through their minds because I had the same thoughts. I'm guessing 90 percent of them are simply doing the best they know how. I'm sure God will eventually give them the opportunity to realize that just simply doing what someone else commands, isn't going to secure them their salvation. If the reason to come to Earth was as simple as letting someone else do your thinking then God may as well have let Lucifer carry out his plan, wherein he would force all people to heaven.

As far as hoping they will see the light when a few more prophecies don't come true, that won't phase them a bit. They will only see the light when they let God write in their hearts, by calling on him without mental reservations. For what it's worth, I hope everyone can overcome their struggles without going over the deep end and deciding religion is useless just because so many have abused it.

I read in the current newsletter from WKB at www.sharethelight.ca that Hollywood wants to do a "reality" show on a polygamist family. Sounds pretty interesting. If they are taking nominations, I nominate Warren Jeffs. But they probably will want some talking, so nevermind.

Anonymous said...

Warren would make a good reality show. Only problem is, to tell the whole truth of what goes on in his life, it would have to be aired on one of the adult cable channels. If it aired anywhere else they would get a FCC fine.

I have just started reading this blog, and I have a few things to say to anonymous at 6:10 regarding the difference between ourselves and the catholic church.
As a plural wife as well as the mother of girls, you can bet you little booties that any "dirty old man" as you put it, tried to touch one of my daughters without their consent he would have his religion changed for him, if you get my drift. When my girls marry they will have a say in when and who, just as I did. Sacrificed? Right. Go figure.

Anonymous said...

Wow you learned to lie from Warren too! Do you really think your girls will even dare have a say in the matter? don't think so. But lucky for them Warren will be in prison by the time they are 14 so he can't marry them off to their uncle!

I think a reality show from within Warrens Herd would have to be a "Survivor" Series of several families with the losers taking the walk of shame and the winner being the one who wasnt kicked out in the end. maybe I'm mixing Reality TV and FearFactor....but then for a $50,000.00 prize maybe its a worthy risk as the end resluts for the people there will be the same anyway. I have never heard of Warren refusing money so who knows. Its an idea.

course you people who are screaming abuses about Warren Jeffs and the girl's he protected, should keep in mind that not all the people Dan Fisher, tried to bribe, took the bribe. The one girl that was having her rent payed, by a man that abused me, and he was buying a truck from a man that raped this girl, was told to leave Dan Fisher's "so called help," when this information was found out. The other girl's were allowed to keep living in this apartment, and go to school. I plainly told them all, I am not so poor and abused that I need to lie against an inacent man. Warren Jeffs helped me escape, my abuser's. I love this Warren Jeffs. I am honored, that people still respect liberty. I aplaude this man that had what it took to protect his daughter, from a man that thought he loved her, since she was under age, and it was his right to be interested in the welfare of his daughter. the Two Fawn's girl's mother and Father, had all their right's violated.

12:32am anon,

Haha! I think the winners on the new Survivor series should get kicked out! Isn't that more of a reward??

Or WAIT! The Fear Factor episode could be much better. If you can actually stomach sleeping with Warren Jeffs, you win and get to leave.

Either way, the winners get to leave the compound.

I am sorry you were abused. I ask you to acknowledge the lives of the men, women, and children whos lives have been shattered by Warren. Read the 102 section of the doctrine and covenants. These men have a right according to our own scriptures to know what it is that they are accused of. If you are unwilling to learn from thoes who have been condemmed without being accused or a trial then I cannot give much weight to your words.

I just got done watching the dr. phil show on this. I'm sure the real Christians of the world will pray long on this matter and God will hear them. This man is obviously just some kind of pervert who is using religon as the excuse to destroy the minds of hundreds of young men and women. Just the fact that they are getting rid of all the young males should be proff of that. He's no better than David Koresh. "The Truth Shall Prevail"
